Opening an eye he looked at the man across from him. A small shrug and a smile played across his features as he took a puff on the pipe that had long gone out. Frowning at this he dumped the ashes to the side and lightly chewed on the mouth piece.
"Yeah, sure was interesting."
Putting the pipe away his hand brushed across the detonator to the charges he had placed the other days, getting an idea in his head he grinned.
"Up for more destruction?"
Holding up the control for the dynamite Quin stood up to his feet, leaning against the wall. It was a good thing he had managed to get what sleep he had otherwise he'd topple over.

"Unless there's a TV and couch lying around somewhere, then f'sure. Got nothing better to do then shoot at people," Shouyin said as he got back to his feet, quickly finishing the sandwhich before looking back down at Quin, holding out his right hand to help the man to his feet.
"So where first?" he said even as he started in the direction of the lake.

The troops that were stationed shook off the dust and drank their coffee... today would be hell, and they would be the ones to unleash it.

It rolled in like any natural fog, off the river, creeping it's slow, wet way through the ruins.
Pea soup had nothin on this b***h. The miners would find themselves suddenly cold and wet as it clung to their skin. Uncomfortable, but not dibilitating.
Then something would buzz by the lake defenses, and dissappear. It was a flash of something odd. An attack?
It bore looking into, especially for people up against uncommon enemies.

Two men, with radios in hand wandered off towards the direction of this... 'thing'.
The rest held their positions, ready to defend against an oncoming enemy.

One of the UGH troops in the ruins radioed in to the others in the Vale.
"Peculiar situation encountered. Ambush suspected. Requesting additional support. Over."

The 'thing' was a little dancing ball of fire, one of the five Flare was randomly sending out to dance over the lake and the shore by the ruins.
Now, Flare couldn't exactly see what was happening out here, so the lights movement was extremely random.
So the light the men were following would bounce and weave, weave and bounce, merrily merrily merrily out over the water of the lake, its four compatriots doing a different random dance several meters away from it.
If they managed to catch up to it...its a ball of fire. And its floating. And moving. With no apparent source.

The men returned to their positions.
They then radioed the men on the 'bridge' to investigate it.

The lights winked out. Flare had other problems to deal with.

Ivan Emtwelve emerged soundlessly from of the partially submerged ruins closer to the lake, his bald head breaking the water's surface very slowly. The mud he had worn had long since washed off his big, tanned frame, and water trickled in tiny rivulets down his face and the visor he wore, which seemed small to him. He began to move deeper into the lake's waters, his head disappearing down under the water level once again. ((OOC: arrow Sunrise River))

[From: Bridge] Jacob settled near this side of the river, crouching in the low ruins.
Being was what he intended to do, however out of the loop he was. As for whether 'being' meant attacking or defending... knowing that would make him in the loop.

Shouyin "This is Velvel, entered into the Crescent Plains from the Twilight Woods, facing resistance and requesting assistance, over." The goonsquad guarding the ruins would receive the transmission, fifteen of their number gathering together to enter the plains. They'd be coming from the opposite side Shouyin and Quin had entered through, thus flanking the distracted Shade forces.
Five more guards and two UGH soldiers remained, two of the guards out in the opening, everyone else remaining in cover. And, gripping their rifles and shotguns, and checking their pistols and machetes and knives, the men would move out, ready to raise Hell.

And, lo, the loop came to him over the radio.
Jacob moved quickly away from the ruins, out from the plains, joining the men.
The plains themselves had been largely avoided my the men: time to find out why. [Crescent Plains] Edit: And, thread boundaries became apparent, Jacob taking up a position in the "destroyed buildings near the ruins"...and generally ending up in Limbo between threads. He'd end up in one if it became important.

Raising himself to his feet, he shook off the dust and craned his head back, single eye staring skyward.
Around him the dust continued to settle and expand lazily outward, his right foot positioned atop a high cropping of debris. Both arms hung loosely at his sides, even as the heat began to build.
Somewhere nearby, within the rubble, his flamberge began vibrating, as if crying out for it's wielder, even as it began to rise in temperature.

The troops stationed there did not notice Vahn, as Flare had conjured a fog to cover the area earlier.
