sugarnew182 How many octaves can flutes play, because at my school they play 3 octaves plus a few notes (Low B to the really high D). I can play three and a bit too... Let's see... I've played from a really really low D... like under the scale... to... um... a really really high C... like way way above the scale. So... I can play from G to G to G, plus low D, E, F, plus high A, B, C... I'm so cool...

I can only play from the low E flat (kind of below the staff) and up to the high F 3 lines and 4 spaces above the staff. ^.^ I guess I'm okay. Oh, and hi. I'm a new member to the guild.

I can sometimes play low B (the one that you need a special foot for) to high C. I have an intermidiate model flute, but my friend has a fingering book with notes like (I don't know, I think it goes up to an F that is above that really high C). The fingerings involved half-covering a hole and stuff, so I might be able to play higher.
But enough about that. Aww yes, we're moving into the new school tomorrow (cause the old school sucks.) Our new band room is awesome! (that's 'cause anything is awesome compared to the band room we have now.) Incidentally tomorrow's also my birthday.
Still looking for flute/cello duets.

Just wait, because if your school is anything like mine, the flutes are the hardest working section. Pretty much none of the other sections are as competitive as they are.... It is kind of scarey.

Not that I mind. same here. we got a band award for hardest working section this year. we still get tormented by the directors. not in a mean way, of course. lol. i get made fun of a lot tho... just because i'm the only loud insane flute in the band... ^^; director: Percussion, play fortissimo! it sounds like you're playing at about a mezzo piano. a percussionist: can we pretend it's HK's (me) head? director: sure, if it works.

I really want a piccolo. I have a Piccolo. Either I'm retarded or it can't play an Ab, but it can play sort of an A two octaves above the staff. I think I've played B on it before. The bad thing about getting a bass flute is that there's no band music gonk sweatdrop crying xd

I can play every note of every octave for every scale on the BFlute.
