Lupu, Squire of Saturn Roll 5 (+5 Bonus)Ah...cheating on Evan’s food. Yes, that did make a bit more sense and Lupu tried to give a laugh, though only reached down and clutched at his brother’s hand. “I’ve got you too. Seriously. Just keep fighting. I won’t lose you again...and you won’t lose me again. You’re stuck with me and...that’ll just have to do.”
Lupu managed a grin and shuddered, truly not enjoying this one bit. It was frightening, and though he was trying to keep brave, he was truly glad that Evan wasn’t here. This sort of a fight would either give the senshi nightmares, or…
Or give him a panic attack that turned into a murder spree like a few Halloweens ago...oh. That had been something.

Squire Ammersee - Roll 5 (+5 Bonus)The creature was attacking more, but there was something about it that didn't even worry Ammersee as much as being trapped in darkness. He held onto Lupu's hand tightly, unwilling to let it go even as he couldn't see anything in front of him.
And then, suddenly, there was light; the talisman that he had picked up earlier seemed to float out of his pocket, emitting blinding light that lit up his face--that reached Lupu's.
"--I'm so ready to be home, I hate this place," he said, trying to wield his weapon with whatever luck he could muster. He wasn't going to risk his magic, not when he could barely see what it would do, but he was going to try his hardest to at least keep whatever was out there away from him and his brother.

Lupu, Squire of Saturn Roll 6“Mm. Me too.” Lupu finally just gave a soft curse and chucked his bow as hard as he could towards the monster, regretting the action after a moment but. What was done was done. “...Hey, Ammersee? I like when you call me Lu. That’s cute. Ah. I’m glad that you’re my brother, just...in case you’ve forgotten that I do care. Seriously.”
Oh. Now it just sounded like he was preparing to meet death or something.
“I mean. That…ah. That doesn’t excuse you, so just...keep doing damage so these don’t have to be my last words, okay?”

Squire Ammersee - Roll 6"What?" he asked, seeming surprised. "I know you care. Don't get sentimental, you were just nagging at me for not--Lu," he said again, and drew him close, watching in alarm as the metal pieces raised to surround the creature.
"--We'll be out of here soon, look. Everyone's fighting this thing, we're not alone. And it looks like we're winning. So just--I'm still fighting, I'm not giving in. You're not even hurt, you big baby..."

The scrap metal soared through the air, each one flying so close to the creature that they either hit it and bounced off, or just barely managed to hover around it. The more pieces that gathered, the more form they began to take. The metal fragments seemed to come from all around--the pieces everyone had picked up, and the pieces that were still lost in the village. The metal echoed loudly, each piece seeming to seamlessly click with another piece. The creature flailed, clawing at them, but its blows ricocheted off of the wall of metal. In only a moment, the pieces began to glow white, and the glow spread across the creature. It was desperate and let out one last great wail--and then, the metal pieces all clicked together, in a spherical metal prison that caged the creature. It expanded in size, briefly, before shrinking down to the size of only a basketball, and falling to the ground with a thud. The runes carved into each piece glowed for a few seconds and then they too faded, leaving only the lifeless metal orb lying on the ground. There was a stillness in the air that persisted for only a few seconds--and then, the fog began to slowly swirl around the orb, rapidly picking up pace once this set in motion. It gathered from everywhere, filling the air with the familiar haze of thick, white condensation. This time, something felt different--there was no hallucinations, no choking, no pain--only a brisk chill and the brief sensation of dampness and wind. And then, they were back. Destiny City was as they’d left it, only they would find that their three weeks away had only spanned three hours, here. Perhaps it would be easy to dismiss the whole thing as an illusion--if they hadn’t returned with souvenirs to prove it. Quote: Congratulations, you defeated the monster and have been returned to Destiny City!Every character who participated in the ORP with at least 500 words is now in possession of a Faded Talisman! If you played multiple characters that hit 500 words each, they can all claim one! Quote: Faded Talisman - An ominous strip of leather with faded runes painted or carved into itWhen wielded, this talisman will produce a thick fog that covers up to ten feet around the wielder, and up to ten feet above them. Wherever they move, they will be completely enshrouded in a white haze that is impossible to see through. The fog will move where they move, and the talisman seems to keep producing the fog for up to five minutes. It is impossible for anyone to see anything in this fog, and anyone inside the fog will find that their energy signatures are completely dampened and they can neither feel outside energy signatures nor do they seem to have one, themselves. After the magic has ended, the talisman no longer seems to have any magical properties but it can be kept as a spooky memento! The group only needed to deal 1500 damage to defeat the creature, but through teamwork and persistence, they managed to do so-- and secure a few extra treats! By doing 250 extra damage, everyone unlocked one Metal Charm IC RP Item, to be given to any one character who participated in this ORP! By doing 500 extra damage, everyone unlocked one Henshin Pen or One-Time Use RP Item (from this event or our permanent pool of items)! By doing 750 extra damage, everyone unlocked one Permanent Item or Enhancement! Quote: Metal Charm - A scratched, circular charm slightly larger than a marble, with unrecognizable runes carved across itThis charm is an identical, miniature replica of the prison that trapped the beast in the Halloween 2020 ORP. It seems to function like a little puzzle box; when you unscrew the top metal piece, a haze of fog erupts from the charm and a foggy manifestation of the monster will attack targets for up to five minutes (players have full choice over any damage they choose to receive). The monster will linger in the area where it was summoned and will not move with the Metal Charm or its wielder. The creature does not speak or respond to discussion, but it will attack anyone the wielder considers a threat. After the magic ends, the metal charm is nothing more than a little trinket to play with. Sometimes, it will let out a little puff of fog when twisted in a certain way, but it has no other magical properties and can be kept as a spooky memento! To claim your prizes, please post the following code in the Event Raffle and Information Thread!I AM CLAIMING ORP PRIZES I would like to give my Metal Charm IC RP Item to (Choose a character of yours that participated in the ORP) I would like to claim one (choose Henshin Pen Growth Item or One-Time Use RP Item; if choosing an IC RP item please indicate which One-Time use RP Item you would like) I would like to claim one (choose Permanent Item or Enhancement; please indicate specifically which Item or Enhancement you would like, and for which character you would like it for) Please also make sure that you update your IC RP Item Log and/or Growth Item Log! You may also claim or purchase more Faded Talismans or Metal Charms for 1 Crown Token! These have been added to the Limited Edition prize list and can be purchased until November 15th! You may choose these as a prize for any mini-game or participation prize that allows you to select an IC RP Item for a prize. For characters that were not present in this ORP or even in the event, these items can be found in the aftermath of the fog leaving Destiny City. They cannot be found anywhere else, and can only be found while there is still fog in the city, or immediately after the fog fades. The ORP is now closed! You may continue to post an exit otherwise this post will be considered an exit post for everyone! Please fill in all of your posts! Even if it’s just one sentence, it is important not to leave empty posts. If you wrote 500 words for this, whether a civilian or powered, it will count as one Battle growth requirement! Similarly, you must have written at least 500 words total to be eligible for any of the prizes! You may backfill your posts at any point in time, but we strongly encourage you to do so as soon as possible. This ORP can also be used as a ticket in the raffle! Mauvian Bernard (Closing post)
Before he could even really take in what was happening, the metal pieces had swarmed the creature and suddenly they were moving together. As if they were forming something! Like an extremely large puzzle with incredibly small pieces fitting perfectly together. It was as though this was done before and it made Bernard wonder if perhaps this had either been destroyed by the creature itself or someone else broke it.
Whatever had happened in the past, it was now starting to show it’s true form and soon enough suddenly it had trapped the creature in some spherical prison and shrunk quite quickly before it hit the ground. Bernard almost wanted to sniff it out to make sure that the monster was gone, but he quickly realized that there was the fog again! This time it was true fog, one that didn’t cause horrible hallucinations and contain a horrible monster, and suddenly they were in Destiny City, back where they were. And Bernard could only let out a long sigh before collapsing on his side and taking a few moments to decide whether or not he wanted to sleep or just do something else to forget that it had all happened.
Well, he wasn’t one to reject taking up a good nap…

Captain Geocronite (closing post)
Geo took a moment to catch his breath, fully expecting to have to try and run or jump again within the next few seconds, but that didn't come. Instead he heard the creature screech horribly, again, and looked up, but found that it wasn't screeching at them, but the metal pieces that had been lying around that were now flying around it. And only for a moment he could see that they had come together to form some sort of prison.
Light happened, a thud, and then more fog rolled in. Before he could blink, he was back in Destiny City again, though it was a bit later now. He took a look around and deciding that tonight wouldn't be worth hanging around teleported back to his home and immediately collapsed on his bed.

Civilian Jacques Lécuyer (closing post)
Well, even if he hadn't done anything, that didn't mean that they weren't doing well against the creature. However it didn't appear to be what they did that truly defeated it. The piece of metal that he had been carrying on him had flown up with the others, bouncing a few times as it tried to find it's place to the point where he could no longer see it.
It didn't really matter though, the pieces somehow knew what to do, probably from the runes, and had gathered together, trapping the creature on their own. And soon enough he was back, in the same spot that he had been before, and checking his phone realized that while he had been gone sometime there, that it had only been 3 hours. Not two weeks which he was grateful for, but he would have rather not have to go through the whole thing in the first place. That food was awful. Still, it was just one more thing he had to deal with apparently being in this city. It often made him wonder if these events happened elsewhere. He doubted that they did, and they were just unlucky enough to be the epicenter of all of these weird things.
Either way, he was going to go home and have a proper meal.

Chip Wrap up
Eventually, the creature, whatever it was, ceased to be...and with it, the whole place. Chip blinked as everything changed...or maybe he moved? It was hard to tell. Either way, he was suddenly standing in Destiny City. Exactly in the spot he'd been standing in weeks ago. He blinked, looked around, scratched his head as he considered what exactly happened. As someone constantly surrounded by chaos, and quite used to magic, it wasn't really a huge surprise that something weird and inexplicable happened...although it was still a bit troublesome that he didn't know exactly what had just happened.
Then his com tablet pinged with a message, and he looked at it. It showed the date as...the day he left. A little later, sure, but almost no time had actually passed.
He blinked again, stared at it for a moment, and just said, "Huh. Neat."

Super Senshi Athalia - Closing Post
And just like that, it was over. The beast had been pulled into the depths of the sphere and it had slammed to the ground with little regard for what lay within it. Silence fell upon them and in an instant he was back to where he'd started. Deposited in the very same location that he had been on the very evening he had been spirited away. For all intents and purposes it looked like nothing had changed, the street was quiet and otherwise untouched... A cursory glance towards a nearby clock, glowing just enough at the back of the closed shop to be visible, seemed to indicate that he had also only left this world for three hours.
What.
Something tweaked within him, he couldn't tell if it were disbelief or rage, potentially both. Truth be told it could have been a combination of several emotions, and yet for all intents and purposes he looked and felt like he had been through hell. Three weeks in the space of three hours, how amusing that must have been for that which deemed them its play-things.
He was not a fan, a shred of news that would come at no surprise to anyone. Nevertheless, he glanced over his shoulder to check for Metis. In the end he knew what he needed to do and his priority was to return her home safely, after that he would find himself something decent to eat and stare blankly at a wall. With so much to process, it was easier for him to focus on what was practical and easy for now rather than the rammifications of everything he had just seen and experienced.
He'd at least acknowledge the relief he felt, that was something for now.
The rest would have to wait.

Dark Mirror Senshi Shaowei - Closing Post
She didn't mention to say goodbye, nor express her gratitude to those she had met. No sooner had the orb fallen to the ground than she had found herself back in the alleyway. Outside a popular thoroughfare for partygoers, she had selected this place to experiment with her newly acquired wraith. The street still bustled, though once sober candidates were now far from it, and to her side she took note at the wraith who now stared 'expectantly' towards her.
She was a little grubby, and that was being kind, but in the end as she peeked out from the alleyway it became apparent that very little seemed to have changed in her absence. In fact, a quick glance at one of the evening/happy-hour special signs indicated that it was the same day.
She blinked, several times.
They hadn't been kidding that the city had some strange magic and played some of the oddest games. If her eyes were to be believed then she had never left, or rather she had, but only for a very short period of time. Suffice to say that the more she dwelled on it the more she came to the conclusion that she would have preferred not to have experienced it at all.
Pulling herself back into the alleyway she simply drew her wraith back into her compact and took a deep breath. As important as it was for her to learn how things now functioned in her new role, a shower seemed much more appealing now and that was precisely where she intended to head.
...This experiment could wait until tomorrow.
***********
Namielle - Closing Post
The weary Mauvian had began to despair and then it was all over. The world had evaporated around her and she'd found herself deposited on her bed, nearby her computer remained on (though logged out due to inactivity), and several pings seemed to indicate she had many messages waiting for her. Relief flooded into her tired face and it was with a sigh that she slumped against the duvet and closed her eyes. The smell of fresh linen and the sound of whirring fans were more comforting for her than she could have imagined and no sooner had she focused on them than she was out like a light.
The fire and brimstone of angry gamers could wait until tomorrow.
...She would reorganise the runs and deal with any other drama in the morning when she was rested and could think straight.
************
Adorea - Closing Post
She hadn't actually gotten to give him a proper hello, or to cement his name into her memory. With the monster dealt with she had unceremoniously been pulled from that odd little world and dumped straight back in to the one she was most familiar with. She was back in the same spot she had been when it had all started, with the same slumbering men and women nearby, and the same smells of an area that could have used some TLC. Given that the vast majority of them looked like they hadn't even moved, she could only assume that like all things in this odd city...she probably hadn't been gone for long at all!
It was with a small sigh and a shrug that the Senshi collected herself and strode away. With no real direction in mind it would be a mystery as to where she would end up for the rest of the evening but this didn't seem to concern her in the slightest.
The night was young and some thing might turn up that would pique her interest, she'd never know until she tried!

Captain Rakovanite - Closing Post
Once things started happening, they happened all at once. All the talismans and metal shards converged upon the monster through seemingly no input of anyone gathered there. They encircled and caged the creature, but even though that obstacle was removed, other things started to swirl around them.
Despite the creature being trapped, the fog still moved.
Rakovanite was only distantly aware of his brother behind him, but as the wind picked up in a frenzy and the fog dove in, he reached back, locking his fingers tight around Cervantite's arm for whatever was to happen next. Anything his mind warned. It could be anything. There was no telling what something as wild and untamable as magic would decide to do with them, and this had already happened once before.
But unlike the first time, this was only chilly. The first time had been suffocating, and though breathing through the fog was still like trying to breathe through a blanket, this time it at least felt possible to do just that: breathe.
With only a vague sensation of being pulled forward, they were back in Destiny City.
Despite how long they'd been away, Rakovanite recognized it as exactly where they'd been pulled from, the alley they'd been patrolling in when the fog claimed them. Cervantite's arm was still clenched tight in his grasp, and he tossed a quick glance over his shoulder to ascertain that it was Cervantite with him before Rakovanite released him and took an uncertain step forward.
"We are home..." He stated quietly.

Basic Corrupt Diesel - Closing Post
They were. They were home!
Diesel lurched forward to snare both his arms around an unwilling Rakovanite's shoulders, a bubble of deliriously delighted sound escaping him as his eyes scanned quickly around. "We're alive!" He crowed in delight. "And after all that nonsense, I was starting to wonder, holy ******** kept him from expressing much more than that, and if he had to guess, he'd say Nat was in a similar state, as they both just stood there in the alley, staring ahead at the road that crossed in front of them.
It had felt like ages.
His vision was still blurry, and his hair was practically matted, and his clothes were mangled, and no one was going to mention that this could be another fake-scape because it didn't look like one. It just looked like home. The air felt like home. Diesel thought he wanted to question how or why and was this normal? But he... didn't think Nat would know. He didn't think anyone would know.
In the distance a clock tower gave three chimes, and Diesel tipped his head toward the sound. "It's three AM," he whispered, and he wondered what that spelled for their time away.

Narcissus - Closer
A handful of seconds ago, Narcissus had thought for certain that they were all going to die. Maybe that triggered a deficiency in his mental processes, because as the little metal shards gathered around the creature, he could only stand frozen, blinking slow, lazy blinks as it was contained in an orb and shrunk down to something that was reminiscent of a bowling ball.
How frightening was it now?
As a wave of fog surged forward, Narcissus' fears tripped back to life, and he thought that if it still had control over this haze, then it was still ridiculously frightening. He held his breath as the fog swirled around the metal orb and fanned out to encompass everyone.
He feared it would still his breath, drive him mad, push and pin like it was a physical entity. But it felt only like wind as it roved over him, and as Narcissus took in a shuddery inhale, he realized...
He was home.
Well, not at home, but he was in Destiny City. He was alone in the street, not so differently than he had been when he'd been transported to that bizarre village n the first place. Down the road, he could see the dim glow of street lights, and the beams of headlights in cars as they drove by some intersection far ahead of him. There were still people here.
It could be another world. It could be a hallucination, but it felt... real... This felt like what he might expect on a fall night. And to be frank, that was really all he could even begin to hope for at this point.
Paranoia nagged harshly at the edges of his thoughts, but since he wanted to be home, and he wanted it to be real, it was fine enough for now to just assume that it was. It was such a welcoming thought to be home after so many weeks, and he wanted his bed, and- His fish! Oh, he wondered if they were okay! How could they possibly survive so long without any supervision?
They could, conceivably. That was what he'd specifically set his tank up to do, but in his fear he powered down (he could power down!) and checked the date on his phone, anyway, only to see that it read the same day he'd left.
That paranoia hissed warnings to him again, but he ignored it.
He'd think about it more tomorrow, after a rest in his bed.
*************
Sawtooth - Closer
The monster was captured by dozens of shards collected by nearly everyone who'd gathered. It still seemed intent on fighting, but it also seemed like there wasn't a whole lot else it could do.
In all the confusion, Sawtooth spared a moment to let himself be occupied with the damage of the fight. He knew he was not likely to be the only one injured, but since he neither knew nor cared about literally anyone else around, he focused on himself, and picking away the threads of his coat to peek down at dark, shredded, angry skin.
Oh.
Yeah.
So that seemed pretty real to him.
A confused, discontented, uncertain groan of a sound escaped him, and he stared unblinking teal eyes down at the deep scratches on his chest. When the fog picked up around them, he lurched up like he was going to ready to get into another fight, but it dissipated much more quickly than he'd become accustomed to over the past few weeks, and once it was gone, he was back in the city.
Home? He should go to his house. He should make sure that even though he hadn't seen anyone he knew in the village, he should make sure that everyone important was safe and sound. He should go home. Sawtooth knew he should.
But he was also beyond frazzled and confused and hurt, and since he couldn't just appear in his house, his addled mind instead picked the only safe haven that he could just abruptly appear in, his wonder. Sawtooth whispered the pledge and was pulled away.
