Zinnia gulped. This was it; the final test to see whether she really could take on a real titan. This would require speed, precision, and worst of all, strength. She'd gained muscle tone since she'd first arrived, but was it enough to cut through the dummy's neck?
She blasted off into the obstacle course, searching for her first target. She selected a target and dove for it; her first blade struck deep into the wood frame, but she'd used all of her strength and momentum in just one arm. The other glanced harmlessly to the side.
This was going to take a while.

[ Prompt Response | Zinnia Hayes]Successes: [1]Zinnia tried to split the strength of her swings more evenly on her second try and, to her surprise, both blades sunk in on target, cutting a neat slice from the nape of the dummy's neck. It wasn't the deepest wound ever, but it was enough. She beamed with pride.

[ Prompt Response | Zinnia Hayes]Successes: [1] [2]Simply using the 3DMG required a lot of energy, so Zinnia knew that time would be her greatest enemy. She knew that each time she failed to dispatch her target, she would have less strength left for the next attempt. So she propelled herself through the air as quickly as she dared and put her entire body into every swing. Another success! She was already panting, but at this rate she could make it!

With one titan good and dead, Larisa propelled herself right back into action, jumping off her perch and letting her gear do the rest. She passed some targets that other trainees were already tackling, searching her surroundings until one solitary shadow loomed up. A quick twist sent her towards it, but as she hurtled closer she realized she'd misjudged how far it was. Stretching out her arms, she tried for it anyway, but while one blade skimmed it the other missed entirely. She made a face at the failure and made a turn to double back and try again.

She adjusted her speed so that she could strike more accurately, making up for it by putting more power behind her strike. It made her arms sore, but it was worth it; she made a sizable slice in her target.

She had such perfect aim in her next strike that she made a deeper and more formidable cut than she could have imagined herself capable of. That brightened her spirits considerably; no man nor titan would dare mess with her if she could keep something like that up!

Her exhaustion hit her like a wave during her next attack, and her blades hardly scratched the dummy. She landed heavily and decided to take a quick breather while Baldy wasn't looking.

She was gasping by the end, as glad to have survived the ordeal as she was to have succeeded in it. She'd really need to work on her endurance some more if fighting real titans was supposed to be anything like that!

'Focus. You've got time.' Nodding with resolve, Jeong flew back up into the air and made his way through the trees to look for another titan. It wasn't especially dark, even for a forest, but the trees provided a surprising amount of cover for the large mock-ups. It was chilling to think that things would be moving out in these shadows, out beyond the walls.

Now it was time to show off a talent the teal-haired artist certainly did not have. Rising to the mention, Martino shot the grapples out of his 3DMG and swung furiously over to a titan dummy. With the strength in his arms, he made a sharp cut that slid off the rubber neck of the dummy.
"Yea!" he cheered.

At least she hadn't been completely off this time. As Larisa descended on the fake titan a second time, her left blade sank into the target cushion in what should have been the best sword attack she'd ever made. Her grip on the right blade had faltered, however, and in the end it was nowhere near enough. Frustrated, she adjusted the way she was holding that one, reminding herself of Lip's lesson. She supposed she ought to be glad they weren't partners on this run.

Now with her grip fixed and her knowledge of the target's position as complete as it could get short of running into it or something, Larisa shifted back to try one more time. Success! It was hard to be proud of a success that took three tries, though, so off she went to find the next titan amongst the trees. Hopefully she'd do better!

It didn't take long to find a new target to attack and moving into position to slash at the necks of the fake titans was certainly getting easier, but just when she'd thought she'd had another one down for sure, she realized her cut hadn't gone as deep as it should have. She couldn't count this one as done then, could she? What was she doing wrong?

Maybe she was so upset that she kept messing up that she was making herself even worse, or maybe she just really was this bad. Larisa didn't know which might be true, but she grit her teeth and kept going anyway. Just because she'd barely even made a mark on the target this didn't mean she would fail overall. She wouldn't let herself fail this test, so she had to keep trying.
