Jigoku_Angel WhitePhoenixRyoko crying Minna-san, doomo arigato gozaimasu! *bows over and over* You have no idea how much you're helping a lowly sewing costume making-inept creature such as myself. eek I found a good pattern for a Chinese shirt...'cept I'd have to flip the little line trailing off the neck in the front...'cuz if I don't, the front will look all backwards... here here But that wouldn;t work b/c not only is the 'flap' the wrong way and curves down instead of going straigth out, it is also fake. It's a normal shirt with a mandrin collar and a strip of fabric covered by frogs. Also, that pattern requires a zipper and that would definately throw off the Fai-look. Do you not like the suggestions I made? The civil war shirt actually opens up and everything... Sorry if I'm sounding stubborn or something, but it took me about an hour of "zoneing" and "finessing the fabric" to figure everything out for you. Man, I can get depressed so easy... but I can see why you wouldn't want to use a pattern made for a guy. I don;t know how to convert from girl sizes to guy measurements. I don't use patterns much. Hmm... Its 12:50 am and I'm out of Dove chocolate... dang it! stressed crying Gomen nasai! *bow bow bow* It's not like I don't like the suggestions you're making! I really, really appreaciate all your help! I'm just trying to figure out how to do all this... What I want to do is flip the flap, and make it so that I can actually open up the shirt and put it on like Fay does (he puts it on like a coat...). And I could practice using newspaper before I use fabric...

Guwah... Ok, so Fuzzymo is finally done and his head is sewn on and everything, despiter the faqct that I ******** up his neck seam, but he's still naked because Suu wants him in his Piffle clothes and I need help. Ji-chan, since you apprently have more sewing prowess than I, can you help me figure out a pattern for it? I'd like to make one, not buy one, cause buying one costs money and I'm kinda on the verge of broke. Here's what I have so far... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v136/TheJenx/Pifflejacket.jpgThose are approximations of course, not any sort of pattern. xd I did that on paper and then promptly lost it. Peice A is orange, B and C are green. What was thinking is that A is the top, which goes over his head (hence the hole in the middle) and covers the tops of his arms and sholders. B is the front- I can cut it in half for the zippery thing later but they don't sell zippers that small near me right now- and wraps around the sides a bit, hence the armhole-y things on the sides. C is the bottom half of his back and sleeves- that's why there's slits on either side, so it can bend up to go sleeve-y. I was thinking that if I can't find a zipper small enough to zip up and down the front, I'd just do a fake zipper somehow and have it come on and off by putting some sort of fastener where the orange meets the green on the front and letting the orange come up so you can slip it down over the butt. The head's too big. Though actually, this is a plushie, I don't NEED a way to take it on and off... Anyways, I can handle the collar and snap-y strip across the collar after I take care of the rest. Thing is, I'm having a bit of trouble actually fitting this all together. I have those 3 peices cut out but I don't know what to try sewing together first, and I have this nagging feeling that I've got something very very wrong. Help?

The civil war pattern does open up.. unless the thing is you don't want to BUY a pattern. *pulls open McCalls spring 2006 pattern book* the fabric is too dark to make out the individual peices... I'd have to look at the actual pattern peices in the instructions to knock off the pattern. Course, I'd only do that if you asked me to. Apparently, I'm going to be busy helping people. sweatdrop

(back to acting like tohru...) -sakura sweatdrop Now it's 'dono'? areareare... sweatdrop Yes, do not give in to the evils of buying cosplay! ... unless, you buy from me. ninja just kidding, just kidding. Think nothing wrong of blowing me off, I often get dropped and looked over, so its nothing new. sweatdrop

You mean the green and orange jacket, right? *watches eps 27,28&29* I don;t see... any zipper... sweatdrop From what I can tell, its a flap jacket like Fai's regular one, only the flap curves down from the nneckline instead of going strait out. The... well, I'll just take a pic of my sketches. Piffle jacket sketchMan, I miss my scanner. digital camera's just don;t work well for this kinda thing. I think I managed to break down the jacket efectively. left front wider and slopes down, right front normal and to center, back peice normal, sleeves normal. The yoke should be the orange part, just extend the shape out for curves areas on the front and long parts for the sleeves. The area where the larger parts meet the sleeve parts for the orange should be thinner and go in slightly. that way there won;t be bulkness. The collar is just a simple mandrin collar and the tie clasp thing is just an oval. *shrugs* the orange peice should be completely lined in white and white buttons, or thread, on the clasp part. I suggest either velcro or snaps for the jacket flap. don't forget the orange strip on the front or the line of white that runs down centerback. heres another sketch of the peices. sorry my handwrittinf sucks.. pattern peices?although, this is a plushie... I have never made or clothed plushies before... so this may be too detailed for him. and what are you saying? of COURSE the clothes have to be remove able! Not only so you can make more outfits for him, but so you can make him do some strip tease for us fangirls! Honestly! sidenote, I wouldn;t say that I'm more sewwing adept than you, I only started sewwing a few years ago...

I only started sewing last year, so you're ahead of me. xd And thanks, that helps a ton. I'm really new at making my own patterns. sweatdrop But I am SO not making him multiple outfits. xd Maybe when I get better at plushies it'll be worth making many outfits for em, but this is still just practice. And I'm sending him off to Suu as soon as he's done anyhow. 3nodding
