Tim lept out of the truck and headed directly for the front door. He assumed he wouldn't have time to fully change, even if he was quick with doing so.
"We're probably set."
He entered the manor first, and cut through the hallway and straight for the room with the cave entrance, taking no time to open the way.

Abby was somewhat surprised to see Tim moving so quickly, but looked to Arell.
"Well... who's this Dorian fella?" she asked Arell curiously, still holding Artemis in her arms.

Arell looked at Abby as they followed Tim into the manor. "Dorian don't sound like a real nice guy . . . he's de guy who kidnapped my girlfrien'." he said with a low growl. Not angry at her, but rather infuriated at Dr. Dorian. Fortunately since Arell really didn't have a code name or a disguise, he didn't need to change. Of course, jeans, belt, alligator vest, T-shirt, cowboy hat and guns akimbo made him look like the b*****d son of Rambo and Crocodile Dundee.
He waved at C.J., who nodded back when Arell passed the kitchen. He seemed a little lost in conversation, so Arell decided to leave him alone . . . now.

"We're just going to go out and look for Batman. He is one of the people we were supposed to find, right?' Alex asked.
Sapphire nodded. "Yeah. I really don't know where anyone's at. You...go ahead out and look. I'll be okay here. Are you sure you'll be alright?"
Alex smiled. "Yeah. I've been all around this city before. Plus..." she said, then hesitated and looked at Lucas. "Lucas is coming with me. I'll be fine."
Sapphire blinked behind her mask, then smiled a bit, finally noticing that the two were holding hands. "Well, alright then."
=================
Reaper, meanwhile, was silently sitting in his chair, absently staring at Kai. He of course could pick up on her thoughts, and was watching her dream with...a rather odd mix of feelings. He couldn't decide if he was interested, or was....even more annoyed with her. For various reasons. Some of the things he seen reminded him of some people he knew that he really didn't like. And some of it......reminded him of himself.

Kai stopped on a particular thought, in her dream excursions where she came across a dead kid, a holy boy training to be a priest... her most memorable mistake, that lead to her wanting to become a human. It was dark, only the moon could light the cobbled streets of what appeared to be 1800's great Britain. Blood flowed through the cracks of the street, her black feathers littered his body as she stood in her black cloak which resembled her current clothing. She just watched the sight her long black hair still, the air silent and still. As she laid in bed her hand twitched a little and then as quickly as that she started closing her hand holding a bit of the sheet that lie beneath her.

Artemis stretched in Abby's arms and murred a bit. "I honestly think you're over doing the whole weapons thing. From what I know about her real father, he's a loner. Won't have too many people around to hinder his research."
Artemis stretched again and cuddled to Abby.

Uh oh . . . Dundee had seen this stuff before. It looked like Kai was having a nightmare. He decided the best form of action was to wake her up. He got down close to the bed and gently shook Kai. "Red? You alright there?" he asked in a calming voice.
Arell's eyes got big as plates when Artemis spilled the beans on who his girlfriend's REAL father was. "Wait, so her DAD'S behind dis?!" he asked, almost dropping his shotgun in the process. Of course, Arell never really was that close to HIS biological father, but this was no time to snap. "Thanksgivin' is gonna be awk'ard as s**t anyways." he said with a shrug.
Meanwhile, C.J. was smiling unaware of Kai's nightmare or Arell's mental dilemma. "Batman's missing? Boy, I bet someone's about to lose a bet or two in regards to the Batman." C.J. deadpanned with a shrug.

Tim descended the stairway into the cave.
(meh, just to say EXIT Tim Drake to the Batcave)

Arell followed, getting ready to hit the high seas at once.
((Exit Arell and possibly Artemis and Abby to the Batcave.))

When Dundee shook her she found that she had much difficulty waking up. She could sense someone there. Pulled from her nightmare she woke taking a deep breath leaning up and to the side away from Dundee. She kept her eyes closed and moved to lay on her side.
"Thanks..."
She said hesitantly looking back to see Dundee.
"I see, you're feeling better."
She held to her sides and then felt her forehead taking off her mask and setting it next to her. She laid on her side facing away from Dundee. Kai didn't notice at all that Reaper was in the room, and as far as now she was no longer able to sense aura since most of her energy was going to fighting the toxin.
"I don't know how long I was out but I feel like I'm burning up... and my whole body hurts... I always hate when I have to go through major healing periods."

"Better enough to walk around for a little bit. We got you up here safe and sound. Do you need us to help with the fever or anything?" Dundee asked. Of course, the whole idea of Reaper being in the room may freak some folks out, but he still remembered the guy from being in the Batcave the FIRST time he was in . . . which surprising with his track record as the dumb lackey, was impressive that he could barely remember his own NAME.

"That's good..."
She laid still on her side facing away from Dundee, almost curled up. The only form of movement she showed was slight breathing when she talked.
"And, I just want to lay here, so no help needed. It's better that I had to endure this fever then letting you slip away anyway. Arell and CJ would probably hate me if I couldn't help you..."
Kai said quietly to him. She would rather just endure the pain, more than anything right now, at least in hopes that it would get her mind off her past lives. "I don't do that favor anymore... I don't keep a persons soul just because I miss them. Not for anyone else. I don't take them anymore. I'm human now..." She thought.

Dundee smiled, but he looked down at the note Arell handed them. He didn't get a chance to read it, but he opened it carefully. The inscription, word-for-word, is now decoded from Arell's sloppy handwriting to legibility on this post.
"Hey, guys.
Take care of Kai while I'm gone. She's one of the gang now.
~Arell."
In even the worst rivalries, there are times where compassion is shown when a comrade's life is in the balance. The fact that Arell, probably well known in this guild as he who holds a long-standing rivalry with Red Cardinal, the Boozing gunslinger HIMSELF asking his buddies to keep an eye on Kai until she got better, that was something. He put the note back in his pocket.
"None of us hate you, Red. Not even Arell." he said. Of course, he didn't have much of a thing for risk factors. They were family. He was just doing what he could to protect them.

"Yea, and he shot me... The last person who shot me that didn't /hate/ me... Was Jason, Red hood."
She didn't really react to Dundee too much but still stay in the bed.

Dundee nodded. "He hasn't quite gotten over that. He's . . . just had a hard time letting his emotions outward 'bout that sort of thing, know what I mean?" he asked. Of course, that's the difference between Arell and most cold-blooded marauders he usually acts like . . . he has a conscience.
