Yes, Arachne was right, if they all died here then it was for nothing, a waste. No one was going to come save them, if anything they were being whittled down slowly picked off like wild game. She tried to replace her pain with anger, but it was hard, she was so tired. Her legs were in agony, at least with her heels snapped off walking wasn't such a pain, but still. She could feel bruises forming, and her ankle was swollen. She pulled Rosc's coat tighter around herself and nodded at Arachne.

She felt the tears start to well up, but this time she found the strength to keep them at bay. Her eyes stung, but it was easier to be brave when she had someone to be brave for. Arachne was obviously hurting too, they all were, and now wasn't the proper time to mourn. Now was the time to put their heads together and get the jack off this island.

"Yes...we'll make it back..." Except she didn't sound so sure. Besides once they were back...then what? Would their friends re-form, or would their FEAR be trapped on the island forever? Could she go back to school and sit in class and stare at empty seats knowing the students who were supposed to be filling them? They wouldn't be going back in some triumphant laughing gaggle with prizes to show for their efforts. If they ever even made it back...it would feel incomplete...wrong because only some of them really made it.

Arachne was lost in similar thoughts; what would it be like whenever they eventually got home? Roaming the campus, going to lessons - none of that would be the same. She let out a little sigh. And what about her friendship with Sepheran? She felt a little selfish thinking of herself at this time, but she wondered if that too would continue in a normal setting.
For now she needed him, and her hand found his again.

'We need to get through that damn portal, but I don't even know if the new riddle is even of any use.'

Sheridan growled, it seemed he had found a bit of strength, or at least irritation. His tail, no stars, and now that ear piercing shriek, ARRGG STOP THAT! If the traps didn't kill them than the newcomer certainly would with that screaming (wait, he remembered that scream).

He was tired, he hurt, he wanted to get off this forsaken island and go home, he wanted to see the stars, and everyone trying to break the keypad was not helping them!

"Would you leave the keypad alone! You're going to break it!"

Couldn't they see that infernal hourglass, that it was -processing- (oh how he hated that hourglass)? Did anyone -really- think they could make it go any faster by punching in random words?

"You will not make it process any faster by frying it."

Because that was exactly what was going to happen, they were going to overload the damned thing and then they'd be stuck here forever. And quite honestly, he did NOT like that idea

Aksaja blinked at Sheridan when the other dragon started babbling about leaving the keypad alone and frying it. How could they fry it by trying different phrases? Brows drawn together in confusion, the lightning dragon shook his head.

"But the only thing it did was bring this new chick and more students here," he muttered. "So obviously to do something ELSE it still wants some kind of code." So duh, they had to keep trying stuff.

(( Aksaja = does not get tech lol
Also I'm not sure the hourglass is there anymore owo; I think it was just there til Famine + students popped out BUT I COULD BE WRONG ))

((It's there. I asked. The portal is processing something. Famine and the students did not pop out of the portal, btw. XD))

Riley held her hand out for the offering she was given by the reaper student she didn't know. She gave the girl a soft nod. Why thank you. She brought it up to get a good look.. and then for good measure she turned the paper around to look at the back.

Hey, you never know.

Of course, when she turned it back around, she had already figured it out.

I don't believe this is a clue to something new. Riley murmured to the group. This is a clue to something we figured out by mistake. It's telling us to flip our map over - which we did. That is why our portal is processing, and-

She was caught off guard by Aksaja's emphatic attempts at the keypad, and Sheridan's angry response. Taking a few quick steps to the keypad, she put her hand over it for a moment, covering the keys.

Actually, Aksaja. Sheridan's right. The portal is either one of two things - processing, or frozen. In either case, inputting more information might make things worse. I believe for now.. we simply have to wait. She put her hand on Aksaja's shoulder, patting it gently.

.. If that hourglass freezes in place, however, I have a second solution. Beat the everloving death out of it. Because Jack knows I will.

Bullshit. Every last second of this damn trip was bull. s**t. Hmm, well, maybe not that boat stuff now that he thought about it. That stuff had been pretty cool, even the parts that had ended in unpleasant tentacle hickeys. But this island? With its hallucinatory fog and stupid caped figures who didn't know how to take a beating properly and chasms? Crap.

He had been about to answer Bul, or maybe he was planning to turn and make sure Tomoko wasn't falling into any pits (though he would have denied that), or seeing what Junko was yelling about this time, but none of those things happened quite like they were supposed to. Instead he was tugged forward by Famine, and one thoroughly disorienting flash later he was standing somewhere completely different. The sight of other students, some of whom he recognized, momentarily led him to believe that they were all back at Amityville, but slowly, as his thoroughly concussed brain caught up, West realized that everyone here, familiar or not, looked as bad as he felt. Perhaps more importantly, this place was definitely not any part of the school he knew about. A short growling sound issued from his throat and he did his best to move away from the others... but not too far away.

Balls to this. The wrath demon propped his bat against his leg and crossed his arms, glaring around at his pathetic comrades with frosty disdain. Screw this trip.

Everyone was cast in a startling shade of blue. Riley stared at blue Aksaja for a moment, before slowly turning around to look at the portal that was causing the effect. And there it was, like some angry diety flashing it's prophecy of destruction at its followers from the sky.

The blue screen of death.

Riley's mace rose. Her eyes swirled red with blood.

So much for doing things the nice way. She seethed.

"What the hell kinda portal works like this anyway.." Bul remarked to the voice communicating with him and the others. ((Riley xD I believe this is the first time theyve met)) "Be my guest and bash this s**t in so we can get a move on..." he grumbled sarcastically. Well, he knew better than to bash it in but that didn't change his mind about wanting to do what typically ruined his family's computers at home.

"Has anyone seen that Bootube video about the boil that totally ******** up his keyboard for that one game?" the half beast had to stifle a laugh. It was so irrelevant but he couldn't get the image of the poor ghost screaming at his computer and beating his keyboard to a pulp, the keys flying every which direction. "I dare someone to do that to this piece of crap portal.." he chuckled.

Angrily, the monster tapped his foot and turned his head, the blue glow from the portal illuminating them all irritatingly. "When I got this screen on my last comp I just kept hitting random keys and then finally just unplugged it... we could try hitting a random key since the worst that can happen is it'll just show this screen again, right?"

Sin frowned and rose a hand to shield her eyes form the sudden blue light. She re focused and frowned at the message, what was this? Then she saw Riley who looked like she was seriously about her loose her temper. Well she wasn't going to kiss her to snap her out of it...lesson learned. She did walk over and touch her shoulder.

"Calm down Riley...breaking it won't get us home...maybe we should follow it's prompt and hit enter?" She sounded tired, she was tired, she was annoyed, but she wasn't ready to hit anything unless it was a cloaked reaper.

(( the students were teleported by Famine, says so in the other RP ))

Sheridan had been about to open his mouth to reply, and then the portal -so kindly- proved his point for him. Windows? Seriously, WINDOWS?! You have got to be kidding me!

A glare was leveled at Conquest and Famine, anger and frustration in his eyes, the pain in his body for the moment forgotten (well obviously not forgotten since that broken tail was making him -very- grumpy).

"Windows?! Why aren't you using LINUX?!"

Idiots! Who the hell uses windows for a portal, for something that could mean life and death?! Windows, clearly this -was- hell. Muttering about windows, idiots, linux, and macs, Sheridan pushed a key on the keyboard. When it blue screened again, he was so going to join Riley in smashing that infernal thing.

Spotting West amongst the survivors, Jericho nodded to him in acknowledgement before pausing as the area looked a lot more blue. Slowly, he turned towards the portal to see a big blue screen.

"You've got to be kidding me," he said in exasperation. He was just about ready to bust down the damn thing along with Riley if it didn't start working for them soon.

"This thing is probably ancient too. Would explain why it's so damn slow," grumbled the dragon.

Petro didn't mind the lack of reaction to his voiced thoughts. The answers probably would have gone over his head anyway. But as the portal's screen suddenly revealed the dreaded BSoD (it was prevalent enough where he was from, and no, that is not meta you are smelling, not in the least) all Petro could do was burst out laughing. Loud but devoid mirth or any real humor, "Ano ba naman 'to," he breathed, slapping his knee despite his already injured state. "This 's all some really bad and tasteless joke and we're the jacking punchline." He shot Famine a nasty scowl, "Y'r sense'v timing sucks."

(( lol well Aksaja really knows -nothing- about technology sooo XD And sorry I was confused too, BUT it does work IC'ly lol ))

Now there was some blue screen talking about pushing enter or some other combination of keys to . . . restart? What the hell? "Kay, I'll admit I have no Jackin' idea what's going on now," he muttered, stepping back to let those who obviously knew more about this mess with the stupid thing.

He didn't understand the whole bit about windows and something called LINUX. If it was a window, couldn't they just break it and go through, like they'd gotten into the lighthouse in the first place?

Upon reading the words again, though, he frowned. "Wait. Maybe if we uhm . . . restart it . . . we could put in the first thing again and see if it works?" He hadn't realized the damn hourglass meant it was DOING something, dammit. So sue him.

The sound of Sin's voice brought Riley's mace down. She put her hand against the one on her shoulder, holding it for a moment. With a deep breath, she turned to look away. Her eyes fell, hooded underneath their lids.

You're right. She whispered to Sin softly, as she patted her hand. She walked away, heading to stand directly in front of the portal, and lifted her eyes to look at it.

Unfortunately, they were still red.

But it will make me feel a hell of a lot better. She growled, and both her hands lifted up with her mace in their grip. She swung down hard, prepared to rend the portal in two in her boiling anger.
