((Delia=Beach -> Drinks Booth // Ebs=Beach -> Drinks Booth?))

"Cordelia Shade!"

She tried, she truly tried to sit still while her woman put the smelly lotion on her fair skin, but the medicated scent was making her nauseous. Something hard to do with a person lacking a stomach. Having had enough, the smoke Raevan was yet again trying to escape Ebony's strong grasp. Besides, there was precious time left in the day and she'd rather be off playing with her friends.

Though just when the Brit had finally had it and was about to give up and let the girl just learn the hard way, the girl stopped moving all together. Frowning in confusion towards her ward's sudden immobility, "Cordelia?"

"Ebby look!" Delia exclaimed, the offensive sunscreen forgotten, as she pointed a finger towards the quickly moving storm clouds heading right for them.

Ebony frowned as she looked towards the massive system just on the ocean front. A storm? She'd been positive there was no chance for anything other than sunshine today. She knew this for a fact because she had to check since Cordelia was so direly fearful of getting wet. Yet what had been told and was proven until just a few moments before was now an out right lie as the clouds cast their gloom over their beach day.

Grabbing everything and stuffing it into her bag roughly, "Cordelia! Head for the shelter where the bar is now!" Without another word, the purple haired woman threw the bag at her charge before haphazardly trying to take down her parasol.

In a daze, the black serpent did as her guardian told her. As she zoomed across the sandy beach towards the bar where the others were big drops of rain suddenly poured from the heavens and Cordelia let out a painful shriek. It wasn't like being dumped into a pool or something where the leeching feeling was once and immediate before the coldness seeped in. No, with each drop that hit the girl it felt like someone was trying to pull her skin away in tiny bits, leaving warring areas of cold and warmth on her body.

Tears streaking down her cheeks as smoke fizzled up in evaporation with the rain that hit her, a determined Cordelia zig-zagged towards her destination as her energy levels dropped gradually. At the threshold between the shelter of the bar and the raging storm, the Frei collapsed on the floor, gripping her bag close to her chest in hopes for lingering warmth.

Meanwhile Ebony was still stuck trying to get that damn parasol unstuck from the sand. In hindsight she should probably abandon it now that the storm had truly hit and was soaking her so much that the paint still on her shorts was readily running down her tanned legs. But the British woman still thought she could get it down before the storm really picked up.

((Oceanside))

Melisande had delayed returning to the popsicle booth, a bit daunted by the sheer number of people gathered. Instead, she watched Varun with his bucket of shells for a moment with a tiny, fond smile before turning back out to face the waves.

It was nice having a moment alone. The drink Kyou had mixed for her hadn't been strong, but she still felt the slightest bit dizzy. The breeze felt wonderful against her sun warmed cheeks. Closing her eyes, the Sigel sighed as the wing tugged at her curls, the little blossoms at her temples rustling silently. It wasn't until the wind lifted a fine mist of sea spray, whipping it against her face unexpectedly, that Pasha jolted and opened her eyes.

"Why...why so dark?" She asked quietly, speaking to no one in particular. The light had changed so suddenly that she felt disoriented, and her wings spread slightly against the rising wind. The muses wide blue eyes took in the sky as she stared out over the ocean...the gathering clouds, the brief flash of lightning. She could hear the way people's voices lifted as they called to one another, from behind her on the beach, but it didn't occur to Pasha to take cover.

Blinking as the first heavy drops struck her, stinging against her sun pink skin, Melisande watched with parted lips as the storm gathered speed. The flowers in her hair curled tight, tucking into buds, and she crossed her arms slowly over her chest. It had been such a good day...what was going on??

(( Drinks booth: Xiu -> Lazarus ))

Xiu tilted his head slightly with apparent interest as Lazarus explained the properties of the drink he had in his hand. It had a nice ring to it, Sangria, and the blood red colour of the drink was a definite plus point as well. Xiu was a little surprised at how eager Lazarus looked with the pitcher of the cool liquid in his hands. If anything, there was a glow of childish pride in the Sigel’s eyes, as though seeking another’s approval.

Smiling, Xiu pointed at the pitcher and nodded enthusiastically. It did not matter if the drink contained alcohol or not. After all, he was ‘old’ enough wasn’t he?

Perhaps it was best if Hazeline did not know of it just yet…

Glancing around just to make sure, Xiu spotted his guardian somewhere in the distance with a book in her hand. Trust Hazeline to whip out a book at the seaside. Well, that was one worry less at any rate…

Just as the white Sigel was about to motion for a glass, the weather which had been gloomy only a while ago decided to go a little further and evolve into stormy. Xiu shielded his face with his hands as the wind blew treacherously across the open sands. Sandcastles and umbrellas alike were being blown away by the ghastly gust and the only booth standing with any form of shelter on it was the drinks booth. Turning to Lazarus’ Xiu looked at the other with a worried expression on his face.

[[Oceanside >> Parking Lot(LEAVING) (Riv and Aphi both!)]]

Aphismet had just about decided this was the best he could do with his sandcastle, getting to his feet and dusting the sand off his knees, when a huge gust of wind nearly toppled him forward. Frantically trying to balance, Aphi flailed his arms and groaned, doing his best not to fall foward on his creation and mess it up even worse... but in the end it was all for nothing as one of his legs shot forward to catch himself, stepping directly into the very gate of his castle, crushing it to nothing. The lovely little flat-stone-walkway was destroyed, the walls on that side of the castle crumbled, the moat was filled... "Aawwwwww!" Aphi whined, letting his arms drop in disappointment. All that work!

Another gust of wind, colder, shot over the chef's skin and he shivered, grabbing at his arms. Finally he raised his eyes to the sky, spotting the dark clouds, the sudden flash of lightning. A storm? Frowning, Aphi looked around for Rivener, knowing his Raevan wouldn't fare too well in the cold rain...

Rivener, still face-down in the sand with his wings covering most of him, showed nothing more than a spot of black on the golden dunes. His guardian thankfully spotted him before the rain began in earnest, though a few drops were beginning to strike him... He could feel the cold, both in the wind and the rain itself, sapping the energy from him slowly. He just couldn't care. Let it freeze him until he fell asleep... Then he wouldn't have to think.

A warmer-than-the-air presence on his shoulder shook him lightly, and Rivener recognized Aphismet's voice when the man called to him. Lifelessly the Scorpion angled his head over, peering one red eye at the white-haired human. "Mh?"

"We gotta go, Riv, it's getting too cold. C'mon, the rain's really getting bad, get up." Aphismet pulled on Rivener's arm, wondering what had the Sigel so upset. Was he pissed he'd gotten shot in paintball? There were still welts of color on him... one orange among the green, even.

Rivener let himself be pulled up, and Aphismet half-dragged the Scorpion over to the parking lot, pausing on the way to find Isi and Eiry, informing them they were leaving. He put Rivener in the car, away from the blustering winds and pouring rain now showering from the sky unabashedly, and returned to the party to find Alex, also informing her that he was leaving. "I'll see you at home, okay? Be careful driving in this stuff!" With a small smile and a brief kiss to her cheek in parting, Aphismet ran back to the car and jumped in, soaked to the bone.

"Good god. I suppose the party's over, hm? ...Was fun though, right?" He grinned at Rivener in the rear-view mirror, but the Sigel was looking lifelessly out the window.

"Mnh," came Rivener's only reply.

Aphismet frowned in concern.

As soon as Eiry and Isi climbed into the car, the Delaran family pulled out of the parking lot and began the long drive back to Durem Caves North.

[[SANDCASTLE -> PARKING LOT (leaving) (Eiry and Isi) Tag to Alex]]

Eiry had finished adding the last details to the great sand shark that he had built and he was just working on carefully dragging Isi's sleeping body to the mouth of the sand shark when the air took on a heavy smell of moisture. Looking up from where he was carefully inserting Isi's thin legs into the shark's mouth, Eiry noticed just how dark and heavy the clouds were. Then, from an indiscernible spot in the sky, a couple heavy drops splattered against Eiry's pale face. Giving a twitch to shake off the cold drops, Eiry looked down at his masterpiece of sand and gasped when he saw the raindrop's devastating effects against the shark's body, freckling it with dark deforming drops of water. Then, as if to pull the sand shark back to the place of it's belonging, the ocean raked with huge waves at the tail of the shark, pulling it into the water.

Eiry then gave a loud sound of disappointment, "What creature thine, you were not meant for such long hours on the beachfront, and, angered, the sea demands your return before you could enjoy your morsel!"

Then, joggled by the wave's pounding on its body, the sand shark's great maw, complete with glittering shell eyes and sand teeth, fell upon Isi, startling his up from his sleep. It felt like a punch in the gut, and, winded, Isi had barely enough breath to shout at Eiry before he was splattered in the face with a fresh onslaught of rain. Spitting and cursing, Isi started to work at dragging his legs from the destroyed sand shark's gullet, pulling them out from underneath the sand.

"Eirdirsceol! Just because I've gotten used to sleeping through anything doesn't mean that you have the right to include me in your tricks and pranks!" the boy howled angrily. Unable to properly free himself, he sullenly opened his arms and demanded attention, "Help me up, Eiry! I can't do this by myself!"

Leaning down, Eiry began to pull and yank Isi out of the slowly crumbling sand beast. It was about that time that Aphismet stumbled by, announcing their departure. Nodding at the man as he and Riv both bumbled their way across the sand and towards the parking lot, Eiry helped Isi to his feet and floated away through the increasing pitter patter of rain to gather up Isi's crutches. Putting them back into Isi's hand, he watched Isi stumble awkwardly over the uneven forgiving turf before he resolved to carry him.

"Up betwixt my wings, Isi, hurry! Such time it will take us to return to the car!" Eiry said, hunkering himself down in front of Isi. Sullenly, the boy grumbled a few unsavory things before he nodded and climbed upon Eiry's back. He could actually carry him now that he had a waist to pin knees around. With his guardian upon his back, Eiry found it quicker to move and so he did through the rain. Of course, he could've just gone intangible to dodge the rain entirely and let Isi suffer with the rain, but Eiry was not a mean raevan. A tricksy one, but not cruel. So, together, they both were soaked to the bone as they made their way to the dwindling Lab carnival.

"Farewell, Alex!" Eiry called, with a nod to the Italian, "We will see you at home, near the hearth where we may tell stories and dry from this wretched rain!"

And, with their goodbyes said to Dr. Kyou, Lazarus, Xiu, and Hazeline, and nearly everyone else in the huddle, Eiry, with a grumpy Isi upon his back, shuffled awkwardly to the car, where they quickly hopped in, and took their seats, soaking into the seat fabric with the rain.

"What great mirth!" Eiry opined happily.

And they were off, rolling out of the storm's way in the Delaran Van.

[[ Eiry and Isi are out of the event! Thank you all for a fun RP and I think I've finally got these two back under my belt. ENJOY THE REST OF THE STORM! ]]

(( Petting Zoo => Popsicle Booth ))

Alex barely had time to open her mouth to respond to Fathle and Dayo before the first fat drop hit her square on the nose. The Italian practically crossed her eyes in surprise, hoping it wasn't something from a bird, but the next few drops started to pelt the sand and she had her answer. Not one to scurry at the mere presence of rain, the researcher tilted her head back to peer up at the sky with something like worry in her features; this wasn't right...something didn't feel right at all.

As the rain continued to fall, the Italian gave Ty a smirk, offering up lightly, "I think we both just lost the who-can-dunk-who-fastest battle - or maybe we both won?" Alex peered at the sky with a shake of her head. "I guess that means rain-check, huh." Her boyfriend came and went in a flurry of despondent Scorpion and chased words, to which she nodded and lifted her hand, not minding much as the water continued to pour from the sky. Looking to the taller red-head and his feathery charge, she motioned that they might want to do the same. "Call me?" she asked of Fathle, confirming that she was expecting the call for their time out. Alex quickly hugged Dayo and gave her a swift kiss on the cheek before retreating to the Chimeras, quickly looking them over: both were rather unfettered by the weeping sky, the fat drops causing splashes in the water like bullets. She knew they'd be okay, but it was time to give them a home before the place cleared out!

Jogging over to Zeke, she quickly began to search through buckets, the shells and trash rattling against the plastic as she sorted and pushed the objects aside. In four of the buckets - didn't it just figure? - she found what she was looking for: colored scraps of paper that she had stuffed in the sand randomly. Alex could have kicked herself in hindsight, since the rain would likely wash out the rest and take it to sea...but at least it was biodegradable. Lifting the buckets, she conversed with Zeke briefly about who the owners were before she took her turn to imitate him.

Climbing up on the slick table without a worry in the world, Alex cupped her hands to her mouth and called out. "HEY! I need Lazarus and Lucia to come here! Bring your partners, and be quick if you don't want to be swimming home!" The Italian put her hands on her hips and waited, glancing to the list that was already beginning to run - Iorek and Cordelia. Well, that was good! With any luck, the Chimera would end up with a good home out of those four!

(( Cordelia and Lucia/Iorek have won the Chimeras! The secret number was 19, and you both rolled it first! Lazarus is passing on the Chimera so Cordelia gets one by default - Yuurei/Wings, you two will have to discuss amongst you who gets the second one. The four of you can discuss it if one of you wants a certain one. Congrats! ))

(( Drinks booth - Tag Xiu, Cordelia, Alex // Drinks booth ))

The raindrops came rather suddenly, the first drop hitting his horn and then came the large pellets that started assaulting his body. Making a face, he quickly placed the jug of sangria far behind the counter, shielded from the rain. It was a good thing that the jug had a lid, or else it would be all ruined. A few strands of his hair was matted to his face from the rain as he turned around to face Xiu, he need to get them both out of the rain! "Come with me!" He motioned to the white Sigel, unlocking a small door and created an opening to go behind the counter. At least there's a roof there, although he wasn't sure how useful it would be in this strong wind.

Turning around he let Xiu in, and that is when he noticed Cordelia collapsing onto the ground near them, having just reached the drinking bar. He don't know why she looked so terrified, and what was with that evaporating smoke when the raindrops hit her? Although those question weren't important now as he went on over and floated low, taking the handle of the bag with one hand and holding her wrist with another, helping her up. "Come here behind the counter." He said softly as he helped her through the door, leading her to where Xiu is.

But the string of events did not end there as he heard his name being called. Raising his eyes to the direction of the voice, he saw Alex on the popsicle booth table, which now looked like a mess with bowls of half melted popsicles and wet table cloth flapping in the wind. Is it the results for the seashell contest? He wondered, since he heard Cordelia's name as well. But seeing her in this state, he's not sure it's a good idea to drag her out. "Wait here, I'll go get that." Gently patting the bag she's holding, he went around the counter and headed swiftly to the popsicle booth. The rain had gotten pretty heavy by now and making his messy hair matting to his horns and face. Although he doesn't mind the rain all that much. Sure he hates being cold, but it is nothing he can't deal with. "You need me? Alex? Cordelia can't come!" He had to shout over the loud pattering of the rain on the roofs and table tops.

From his angle point, Kyou can't really say that he don't see the storm coming. But like everyone else, he thought the weather today would be bright and sunny for the entire day. At least, that was what the weather forecast mentioned yesterday. He watched helplessly as the rain clouds assaulted the beach first, loud pattering noises could be heard on the small structure's roof. Some of the raindrops were still hitting behind the counter though, because the strong wind made the rain fall down at an angle, reaching into the roofed shelter.

Gathering up all the drinks on the table swiftly, he placed them all back into the fridge as he started to clean up. With the approaching storm, he couldn't see how the party is going to last, so he might as well started cleaning and packing up. He promised the landlord that the place would be clean after all.

((Popsicle Booth - Zeke
Elsewhere -> Popsicle Booth - Anastacia))

Once Zeke announced the game, he gave a sigh. Last game. Maybe he wouldn't need a throat lozenge after all. As those who had signed up made their way to the sands, his mind and body were already turning back to the sickened Frei. A sharp gust of wind made the vet pinch his eyes shut against some tossed up sand, but when they opened he was facing the spot where the Raevan was and found her gone.

"Anya?" He blinked as though the moment he reopened his eyes, the Frei would be at her spot beneath the umbrella. It didn't happen and instead of her being there, the umbrella keeled to the side as a sharp blast of icy sea wind shot up the shore and took it down with the force of a football player's tackle. He gave a startled cry but that wasn't all as the rain was soon pattering down on his head and shoulders. The beach umbrella gave a dying lurch as its canopy hit the sand, but Zeke was already fast moving before the wind could gust it over the sand and possibly into some innocent bystander. Where had this storm come from? And, more importantly, where was his ward? "Anya?!"

The Frei wasn't too far away, still, but she was hiding out of Zeke's sight. She was floating around a group of loitering bystanders, keeping out of their range but constantly flicking her eyes mistrustfully up at them as though they would have gotten closer to her in the span of one glance down. Despite the downcast eyes, she wasn't doing it out of shyness or insecurity. She was a proud creature, but what had her gaze turned down was her knitting bag. It was open with one slender hand while the other was carefully placing her new found stone into its depths. Between her balls of yarn and her 'Beginner's Guide to Knitting' pattern packet she hid it - the stone perfectly covered and hidden from all eyes.

"Perfetto." She didn't know what the word meant, in truth, but it was something Zeke said when something went right in his life, so she took it on as her own. The smooth, foreign-sounding word fit perfectly. Anastacia's wings and crown flared happily, though it wasn't lost on her the shells she had found at the water were still at the booth she had departed from. She thought of the rainbow-colored interior of the one she had found and her cherry red lips set in a small frown. She wanted them, but if she went back, she'd be scolded for taking off. She had a feeling she couldn't pull off another wing-walk to get them, because by now Zeke was probably aware she wasn't where he left her. A soft grumble left her lips: she wanted what was hers. Maybe if she looked at where he was in relation to the bucket, she could work something out. Yeah, that sounded fitting. Hadn't he announced a game? Maybe he was watching the participants, which was excellent timing. That frown left and Anastacia turned around, sure of her plan.

She was met with a sand-carrying gust of cold wind.

Involuntarily, her lavender eyes shut against the grains, protecting them from the assault. This would've been effective for any other, but Anya was obviously not 'any other'. Her four navy blue eyes were, open, always staring, lidless. Defenseless. While her lavender eyes were safe, the four on her brow were soon glazed with a coat of sand particles. And they STUNG. With a startled, pained cry the Frei doubled over; her knitting bag dropping to the sand before her as her hands were raised up to cover her offended eyes. The sound she was making was lost to the wind as the storm came in sounding like a jet plane flying way too low overhead, hurting her ears. If that wasn't bad enough, then came the rain. Fat, cold drops spattered down like the clouds were dropping buckets on those at the beach with no care. With her back exposed - red hourglass pointed toward the heavens, showing them clearly what part of her was - the rain hit her pale skin right on target. While the cool, first winds had helped heal her of her discomfort and bloating feeling, this new wind and the rain served to lower her body temperature - and fast.

"Agh..." Anastacia gave a low moan, feeling herself grow cold. Everything in her being was becoming slow and heavy. Her arms, which were raised to shield her eyes and face from more sand-carrying winds, soon felt like dead weights attached to her torso. They fell from their place, showing her face to the world again. Water trickled down her back and head - her crown and all its appendages froze in place before falling as well. Through partially grainy lenses she saw the world go grey from the storm, but also take on some fog to it - the sort that was always before her eyes when she woke up each morning. The grain started to leave as water flowed from her exposed brow into her constantly-open eyes, but her world remained cloudy to some extent all the same. Her rune flickered and started to dim and though she was once more going numb, there was no tingling accompanying it. Her arms broke out into goosebumps as wind hit her again, and with that gust she slowly kiltered to her left. It was where those people were, but who were now surely gone for cover, but it didn't register they could be there and she was headed right for them. That lilt to the side sparked something inside her to speak and it only grew as she realized she had to move.

Get out of the rain, it seemed to tell her, go find shelter.

She obeyed. Her movements were sluggish though, as even the heat of the sand and day were extinguished the harder the rain came down. A chill made her shudder as it shot up her spine, but it somehow helped to make her wings give a shake into a forward motion. Her bag with her stone was left forgotten as Anastacia turned her sights toward the fallen umbrella and the shadow of the man she knew full well could give her the protection she had to seek.

That man was Zeke of course, and with the growing rain he too was soon quite drenched. Though his voice was swallowed by the wind and crash of thunder, he was still calling out for Anastacia and looking frantically around as he wrestled the umbrella into submission and closed its canopy. His vision was blurry from the water seeping down his brow as gravity dictated, but he could see people scattering to both the covered drinks booth and towards the parking lot. It was all in gray scale, but despite that, none looked like his Frei. He felt a sharp pang of worry. She was only a quarter of a body...Had the wind carried her off? Her wings weren't made for flight, she couldn't be able to ride the gusts. He shook his head, clearing some water off his face and trying to make his now fallen bangs leave his eyes. Still no Anastacia as he looked over the now-dampened sands. Alex's cries for the winners were lost to him as his heart now pounded in his ears. Where was she?!

"ANYA?!?!" He unceremoniously threw the umbrella beneath the tables with the rest of his things and whatever buckets he had managed to save. With the wind battering him - and becoming worse by the minutes - Zeke stumbled out of the popiscle booth's once dry perimeter, hands to his mouth as he once more called his Frei's name. "ANASTACIA!"

"Ze...ke..."

He barely heard the name, but felt the tug on the back of his thoroughly soaked shirt. He turned, and just in time, as his Frei fell forward both in exhaustion and because of a gust of wind hitting her in the back. He caught her.

"Anya!" His arms wrapped around the Frei's back, feeling just how cold she was and how her breaths were coming in slow, shallow, and almost phlegm-y. His brows shot up his forehead and immediately he hugged her close, both surprised and not when she didn't rebuff him for the first time in her life. She hung limp and her rune gave another dim flicker, and the vet saw both clearly. Oh s**t, indeed. "H-Hang on..." He gasped through the water and the tight feeling in his throat. "Hang on Anya - Alex!" He whipped around with the Raevan in his arms, facing the woman still on the tables (and dangerously so). "Alex, Anya's sick. I need..." He licked his lips, dryness extending there despite the rainwater. "I need to take her to the car." Maybe to the Lab. Someplace warm and dry and out of the elements which kept on souring the longer he stood there. He gave his sister a baleful, pleading look which he was sure she understood, before quickly gathering up his things one handed and hauling off across the sticky and rain-thickened sands without another word past a fast "you're going to be okay" to his Raevan. The umbrella slowed his run toward the parking lot, but it helped him both notice and grab the discarded bag Anastacia had left behind when she floated zombie-like toward him. Slowed more with the addition, but bullheadedly, he kept on toward the lot. She would be okay!

(( Popsicle Stand => Petting Zoo ))

Her eyes fell on the Sigel as soon as he approached, nodding and pointing towards one of the inflatable pools that was beginning to warble in the strong wind. "I need you to pick one!" she called out, lifting her free hand to shield her eyes as the wind began to pick up. Alex could not stem the mantra that kept repeating itself in her heart: this is not right, this is not good! "I'll get the pools handled but they need to get out of here, now!" The sudden gale tugged at her leg cover angrily, warranting a brief and annoyed look upwards. If it was going to rain on their parade, it sure as hell wasn't going to rush her out from taking care of business! "Take care of the others if you need to, but you'll need to make a decision--"

The Italian saw the Widow collapse in the corner of her vision, getting off the table with only minor slipping and grabbing Zeke's shoulder. "Calm down!" she said sternly, looking him in the eye. "Get her to the Lab - spiders don't do well in wet. Just get her dry and warmed up, feed her if you can!" And then she was off, wet sand sticking to her feet as she ran back towards the Chimera. "C'mere sunshine," she muttered to the creatures, extending a hand to the eight-legged aquatic cat. The soft furred tentacles climbed up her arm with trembling understanding as her free limb scooped up the not-quite-so-playful-now foxfish. Alex put a foot on the rim of each pool, causing a dent quickly and deep enough to immediately start draining the water, her eyes flicking around to watch the Raevans and people alike. She'd make sure everyone got out okay.

((Lucia, Yuurei, Ty -> petting zoo))

Lucia's ears fell back as large drops of water began pelting her head. She ran to Alex, and from the petting zoo looked for Iorek. When she couldn't spy the gray raevan, the violet eyes turned back to Alex. Shrugging, she got close to Alex so she didn't have to shout. "I don't know where my partner is." She squeaked slightly as the water poured out of the pools.

Ty came over to her, having heard what was said to Lazarus. "Looks like you won one of these guys." He slipped his arm around the frei's shoulders. "I'll be right back. I'm gonna grab our stuff." Ty walked shirtless to the bag of stuff, not caring that the rain was soaking his hair. Pulling on his now wet shirt and grabbing everything to go. Turning to the side he saw an amusing site. Ebony was struggling with the umbrella.

But he wasn't one to make a woman suffer, no matter how much of a b***h she was. Walking over to her, Ty put down his stuff and without a word, got his footing in the sand and pulled the parasol up, quickly closing it and handing it to her. He then picked his stuff back up and walked back to the petting zoo area, rain drops dripping off of him.

Meanwhile, Yuurei watched as her mountaintop planetarium became mush. Sighing, she got up and ran to the petting zoo, waiting for Lucia to get everything so they could go home.

[ Vyn. Oceanside -> Leaving. Ethan. Popsicle booth -> Leaving. ]

The sudden breaking of the storm left both Vyn and her human guardian quite surprised. Ethan had been skulking around the BBQ and drinks area since his team’s defeat in paintball.. He wasn’t much in the mood for conversation and his stomach had demanded feeding after all the energy he had used up partaking in the lively game and the food provided by Aphismet was delectable. The chef never ceased to amaze the businessman with his culinary abilities. However, when the first gust of powerful wind practically punched across the beach he had shuddered and clutched a tight hold of his paper plate – the fresh salad flying away as he looked for Vyn. The clouds that had gathered looked ready to cause trouble and before they both got soaked they should make an exit.

However, rather than thinking about her own safety as the sea was whipped up into a fury Vyn’s mind was concentrated on saving her family from being consumed by the brine-y and unforgiving maw of the waters. Her sandcastle had taken a thorough beating when the weather had broken and turned foul – fortunately because it was constructed low to the ground and quite simply the worst of the damage was that the house had crumbled backwards, leaving the crab shell roof exposed. The wind had stolen the roof away and Vyn had lurched to grab it. However, simultaneously the aggressive waves had covered the last stretch of the wet beach and were snatching at the area Vyn had been building her family home at!

Aghast she had returned, crab shell in hand, to find the garden afloat on the backwash and the various family members being borne away by the retreating water! Before the next tumble of surf came smashing in the shadow was darting around frantically, scooping up the wet and sandy shells, and muttering their given names trying to ensure she had them all. “Child, mother, grandma, pet, grandpa, father.” She gasped seeing the last of the family – the pretty daughter shell probably her favourite out of the family. It had been dragged away from the original site of her sandcastle as was a few metres away from where the rose currently drifted and the pale white shell was set against the murky oncoming splash of the next tumultuous wave. Rushing forward Vyn grasped in the surf to try and save the girl shell but alas, the frei was simply bowled back by the force of the incoming wave.

Saddened Vyn tried looking for the beautiful Angel’s Wing on the sand, but it appeared the last crash of water had snatched it aw3ay for good and her efforts had only resulted in a soaking. Blinking the salty water from her eyelashes she turned and fled from the rapidly incoming tide... She had tried her best and at least most of the family were safely cradled in her arms... She couldn’t help but have her wings sink in defeat as she trailed over to her guardian. Xuelian would most likely be upset if she found out a treasured member of the family had been lost.

Are you ok Vyn?” Ethan asked, noting the dishevelled look on the girl not 100% caused by the disappointing turn in the weather (it was hard to believe it was the same beach as the one glimmering with beautiful sunshine that morning). Vyn nodded, but indicated to the shells that she was holidng.

I lost one..

Ethan sighed and slipped a reassuring arm around her back, rubbing one of her perfectly porcelain shoulders slick with the thundering rain’s coating. “Never mind... Perhaps in the morning or whenever the weather clears up we can comb the beach and try and find it – or... at least a replacement.” With that the pair started the relatively short journey home, only stopping briefly to thank Alex and the Doctor for the wonderful day and comment on how it was a shame the weather turned sour at the last moment...

[ Thanks for the brilliant RP everyone! I look forward to the next ORP of this type. :DD ]

((Delia=Drinks Booth // Ebs=Beach -> Drinks Booth with a detour to Alex))

Since her eyes were closed tightly, Cordelia wasn't aware right away whom was grabbing so roughly at her and her bag, so the basilisk put up a little resistance and even allowed a tiny hiss to leave her lips. Even with her struggling, she wasn't a match for the elder Raevan. Though it must have helped tremendously for Lazarus when he spoke and Delia having recognized the voice, finally obliged to his dragging her out of the nasty rain.

Her need for warmth demanded she not let Lazarus run off, but due to the cold shower she'd just endured, all of Cordelia's actions were sluggish and delayed. Thus by the time she shot a hand out to grab onto the fire Sigel's warm arm, he was already gone, her fingers clenching into nothing but air.

With a painful slowness, the snake girl clung back to the bag she still held tight to and looked to the only other person about, Xiu. It would be a few moments before the gears in her head finally moved enough for her to realize who and what she was looking at. Voice laced with utter fatigue, Delia addressed the white Raevan. "You grew."

Ebony groaned loudly and was just about to give up trying with this stupid umbrella. The sand had taken on a quicksand state and was just swallowing the damn thing further into the beach each time she tried to twist it out. Besides, she could easily purchase another right?

When she went to push the matted wet strands of purple sticking to her face and impairing her vision, two strong looking arms came out of nowhere and yanked the pole straight out of the sand with a successful slurping pop. Dumbfounded, Ebony barely remembered how to hold the parasol as Ty shoved it at her and stalked off without a single word in passing.

The British female allowed her grey eyes to watch his soaked t-shirt back in confusion as he walked away. After a few moments her brain finally clicked back on and she shouted after the other foreigner. "Ty!" Ebony said something else, but it was totally drowned out by a tremendous boom of thunder.

Not needing any other messages from nature to tell her to get her a** to shelter, Ebony swiftly ran the length of the beach to the drinks booth where hopefully her charge was. Though she couldn't imagine Cordelia going any place else with all this water about. And even though her mind was focused on collecting her charge and possibly driving home even though the weather would make even her short drive treacherous, Ebony saw Alex scrambling around and stopped. "Hey Alex! Do you need some help?!"

(( Ripley + Rong Wei (from drinks booth to) - Beachside - > Parking Lot = LEAVING ))

For as much as Rong Wei would have really, really enjoyed to watch Ripely get carried off by the storm into parts unknown, she figured it would be a very, very large social faux paux to let such an event occur right in front of the creature of the freaks. That green-haired a*****e that had been around when Rong Wei first got Ripley was gone - she'd seen snaps of him here and there - so maybe if she did leave he wouldn't squeal on her? No, that was too much of a risk. Rong Wei's brain mulled over as many options as it could once the rain drops started, though the moment everything broke into a heavy storm she found her short legs carrying her out onto the beach where she'd last seen her Egyptian Raeven. As far as she knew, if she had been paying well enough attention in school, water and electricity didn't mix. Ripley would likely be in pain, or perhaps extremely dangerous.

The first option sounded funny. The second option sounded like it could kill her.

She found Ripley floating near what was likely the remains of a sandcastle (she'd watched him build one, it was funny as hell), his face set in a very unhappy expression as the rain and strong wings pelted around him. The Chinese woman was surprised to actually see that he wasn't flying around through the air as some sick part of her imagination had hoped he might be, seeing as he had no weight or legs or anything needed to prevent such things from occurring, but all she could do was shake her head as she approached from a safe distance.

"Hey."

She didn't shout or raise her voice, even though the sounds of the weather would have made it difficult for her to be heard, though Ripley seemed to have no trouble noticing she was there. He raised his eyes from where they'd been staring at the ruined patch of sand, his expression downright terrifying with how unhappy he was to have all his work gone to waste. Rong Wei sighed inwardly as she knew the beach would be yet another place knocked off their list of locations they could go thanks to Ripley's uncanny knack for carrying an axe about things, and she started to take another step towards him when a crackle of lightning overhead stopped her in her tracks and sent her hands fumbling to her side in an effort to locate a calming cigarette.

"We need to go. Now."

". . . . I'm inclined to agree. This place sucked."

Rong Wei nearly dropped the damp cigarette she held between her lips onto the sand, her eyebrows raised in heavy amusement over Ripley's use of a word she didn't think he'd had in his vocabulary. Sure she knew he had a huge one, but certain phrases or words she never thought he'd say - he seemed way too....uptight for that, or something. It was funny to see his class slipped away easily once he was unhappy, but so did his control. If they didn't leave now before his mood settled into something she didn't want to think about there was a chance she'd not come out of all of this without some form of bruise - not to mention the rain was coming down around them and Ripley was making some kind of popping noise. If he short-circuited, then what? How much water could a Lightning Raeven handle?

"Then if we're going, let's go."

The Chinese woman didn't even bother to say good-bye to anyone, nor did she pause to pick anything up - she and Ripely had only brought themselves to this event. They'd need to get to the bus stop with it's covered roof as quickly as possible, and Ripley seemed to understand this as he floated close on Rong Wei's heels as the woman took to a short jog. The bus stop wasn't far from here, hopefully they'd make it in time.

[ Thanks for the ORP~ Ripley needs to meet Prajna again so much, ahahaha! ]

(( Drinks booth -> Middle of the beach ))

The dark storm cloud loomed ever closer to the beach as the rain pelted down onto the beach party. Golden eyes trailed to the sky, there was something inside of him that keeps tugging at him. This storm, he could feel that something was off, but he couldn't put a finger on what. Stopping at what he was doing, and completely ignored everything and everyone around him, he continued to stare at the sky. It wasn't until when he looked into the largest, darkest cloud, that he realized why he recognized the feeling of familiarity in him. This feeling of deja vu, there is no doubt about it - it is the storm he encountered when he captured the Eye of the Storm fel essence.

Zavier!

His eyes grew wide as he stare at the looming storm cloud. This cannot be. Even if he is a Sigel, Zavier couldn't have enough powers to summon a huge storm like this, and the Raevan was still a Frei. There could only be one explanation...

"No..." Feeling like his heart was being clutched tight, he gripped the edges of the counter as he stare into the clouds. There was only one other instance when the fel essence's power could be set free like this, one he had experienced a few years back - Gage's death. It wasn't very difficult to connect the dots, but Kyou found himself refusing to believe it. Letting go of the counter, he ran pass Xiu, Cordelia and whoever's taking shelter behind the bar, and dashed out into the rain drenched beach, stepping on a few ruined sandcastles on his way. Being out in the open clears out his feelings a little bit, so he could 'feel' the storm better. Closing his eyes, he let the rain fall onto him, washing his body. It was a little faint, but he could feel it... Zavier's presence in the rain. The gentle warmth, the polite inquisition. "No..." He could only repeat the word as he stare helplessly at the approaching storm cloud.

[[Ekundayo: Fathle's Car. // Fathle: Drinks Booth

Tags for: Ebony Shade, Chrystali, && Rapidashtrainer (kind of, lol)]]

A few moments ago, the air had been lively with the laughter and general excitement of the beach goers. However, the approach of the storm had changed all that. Ekundayo could not help but tense up slightly as the overall mood on the sandy shores shifted to that of worry and concern. Ebony and Cordelia had gone off on their own after a tense standoff of wills and now they were trying to get out of the path of the storm like everyone else.

Faye…” Ekundayo started as she drew closer to her guardian. It was then a fat droplet of rain splattered against her hair. She shivered at the unpleasant sensation of the cool water sliding down her scalp. The Raeven glanced up to see Alex had also not been spared. It might have been funny if she did not feel the threat of the tempest crackling in the air. Fathle immediately wrapped his arms around Ekundayo to protect her from being soaked and turned his eyes to Alex. He nodded at her words.
“I will, Alex,” he said before watching her pull his charge into her arms and press a parting kiss to her cheek. Fathle opened his mouth to offer his help but it was too late. After Alex did a quick check on the strange creatures, she was jogging toward the popsicle booth.

Faye… there is something wrong. This rain. I don’t like it. It is not normal,” she said before cowering into Fathle’s shoulder at the sudden boom of thunder. Ekundayo couldn’t explain it. Each touch of the raindrops on her skin felt like a caress from a stranger. It was unnatural.

Fathle pulled her close and squeezed her protectively.
“Do not worry, my dear, we are leaving and we are going home,” he murmured soothingly into her hair as he began to escort her across the thickening sand with a quick pace.
Will Alex be okay?” Ekundayo asked with a note of fear in her voice. Fathle hesitated to glance behind him. He could see that the dark-haired woman was quickly picking up the animal cross-breeds into her arms and… Ebony was there. His immediate instinct was to stop and go back and offer his help. But he could also feel Ekundayo’s nervous fingers clinging to his damp shirt. As much as he wanted to go back, he had a bigger responsibility to the Raeven in his arms.
“Of course, my dear. She is a smart woman. I am sure a storm such as this could not weather her,” Fathle replied comfortingly.

They had made it to his car and he quickly opened the passenger side for Ekundayo.
And Cordelia and Ebony?
Fathle gently pressed her inside the car. The rain was really coming down now and he was sure his shirt was no longer offering much protection.
“Would you like me to check on them, my dear?”
Ekundayo turned her golden eyes to her guardian and felt a moment of indecision. She wanted to keep Faye close to her but she was also scared for Alex, Ebony, and Cordelia, her first friend. They shared a set of goldfish hair clips… She swallowed and nodded.
Yes.
“Are you sure? I would prefer not to leave you alone…”
She nodded. “Yes. Please, Faye…
“…Alright,” Fathle said as he leaned in to quickly buckle Ekundayo in. “I want you stay here and do not open the door for anyone until I get back. Do you understand? I will not be gone long.”
Yes, Faye.”
He nodded and carefully closed the car door. By now, he was soaked and his red hair was clinging to his face stubbornly. Ekundayo watched silently as Faye rummaged around in the back for an umbrella before jogging back toward the beach. All the Raeven had left was the constant drumming of the rain against the car’s windows and metal frame. In the dry safety of Fathle’s car, the fear and unease Ekundayo had felt began to drain away leaving her tired and sleepy. She hoped that Faye would not take too long…

---

It was getting harder to see or hear anything through the combination of the rain, wind, and thunder. Fathle was planning on running straight back to the petting zoo; it was the last place he had seen Ebony and Alex. However, he caught sight of a familiar, smoky figure underneath an unstable piece of shelter.
“Cordelia,” he called out as he jogged toward the drinks booth. Fathle pushed back his hair from his face when he finally gained a momentary break from being doused by the heavens. He glanced over at a male Raeven hovering close to her. The most outstanding feature of this unfamiliar male was the fact that his body was more developed. However, Fathle did not spend much time studying the white-haired Raeven before quickly turning his attention back to Cordelia.

“My dear, you are soaking…” he said, his mind vaguely pulling up the memory of her fear of water. “I am sorry, I would offer you anything to dry you off but I’m afraid I have nothing useful.”
Fathle lifted his hand to touch the Raeven’s face and brush back her wet locks but immediately checked himself. His paternal concern for Ekundayo was bleeding over to another guardian’s Raeven. He glanced back out into the storm. Ebony must still be out in the rain helping Alex… and had told Cordelia to take cover.
“Would you like me to stay with you until Ebony comes back?” he asked gently, using the woman’s first name with her charge.
