The first thing Zero had done was figured out exactly where he could get his paws on a stash of bandages, disinfectant, and other basic first-aid supplies. Then he cleared out an empty room for himself and set up there. He helped whenever a nurse asked for assistant, but for the most part the Glaceon was left to his own devices.

Being an experienced explorer, Zero dealt well with the small things. Seeing as how the Hospital has had to quarantine all of the infected Pokemon as well as deal with its normal number of patience, the Glaceon could only assume that the Hospital was full to bursting.

Which was why he began to take any Pokemon that came in with minor injuries or illnesses over to his makeshift "office" (I think it might have been a broom closet before he moved everything to another broom closet), patched them up quickly, gave them instructions on how to take care of the wounds or what kind of over-the-counter medication they should take, and/or sent them on their way. Hopefully this would cut down on the number of pokemon staying at the Hospital that really didn't need to be here taking up space.

As Zero walked past the front desk to go renew his stash of disinfectant wipes, a nurse passing by stopped him. He's gotten to know the staff here very well, and once he got past his angry violent phase, he got along well with them.

"Zero, do you mind handing out the lunches for patients down Hallway 3 today?" After explaining how the nurse who usually did this was home sick, Zero happily accepted. After getting the disinfectant wipes into his room, he left to grab the food trolley and hand out the lunch.

By the end of his run, he pushed the trolley into the last room. After gently head butting the cart forward further into the room, he popped his head up to see a black eevee and an Umbreon that looked a lot like a houndoom.

Pulling the last package off the trolley, he padded over to the bed and dropped the bag onto the table next to the patient.

"Mmm, good afternoon." He greeted them. "You just got here?" he asked the injured eevee. He hadn't seen her at the Hospital before, and seeing as how he now worked here, it was a pretty good indication she hadn't been here earlier.

Zero grinned as Xavier explained his heritage, and nodded an affirmative to the black eevee's words.

"And proud you should be. A Houndoom took me in after my trainer was killed when she could have easily just eaten me and be done with it. Sadly, prejudices are hard to brush away when a species must hunt others to survive."

Of course he had been appalled to see the pack hunt, kill, and eat other Pokemon when he was young, especially one raised on human-made food. But it didn't take him long to see it as a necessity of survival, and he has no problems with hunting himself now. It was the way things were meant to be.

"Ah, pardon me, I'm afraid I haven't introduced myself." he said, looking up to address both the Umbreon and the eevee. Now that he thought about it, all three of them were eeveelutions. The city was full of them.

"My name is Zero, and I'm helping out at the hospital until my partner gets better." he forgot about the ID card clipped onto his collar that had his name written large and clear.

Glaceon chuckled at the Umbreon.

"And get this, our team name is Absolute Indignation. Absolute refers to me. Absolute Zero, gettit?" Pfft, they were all so lame.

Ah, so he was with the Mercenaries! Zero had only heard about them recently, and had seen one of them work at the Hospital- and what do you know, there she comes in right now.

"So what's this about the Houndoom?" He began to ask as the Weavile came in, and laughed as Lucy hugged Xavier and the Umbreon was visibly embarrassed about it. As that scene unfolded, he turned to face the eevee as she introduced herself.

"Nice to meet you Zori. Yeah, those guys are rather nasty when it comes to injuries. I assume that's why they're keeping you here? I can't imagine that you'd have trouble resting and healing that up at home if the risk of infection wasn't there."

He normally wasn't so talkative, and he normally acted and sounded rather tired, but he's learned to adopt a different tone around the hospital. It's not very good for the patients if it sounds like you're about to fall asleep after all.
