Muraki shook his head, gently rubbing Tsuzuki's back as the shinigami clung to him and cried. "You must have had good reason to do what you did, Asato." the doctor replied, his voice soft and soothing as he tried to calm the other man. "From what I gather... I wasn't really myself now, was I?" Grey eyes closed and there was a sudden feeling throughout Kazutaka's body that he was losing something important... 'Kill him.' Saki's voice pinged through Muraki's head, and it took everything the man had NOT to let on that something was wrong.

"Well this... is... unexpected..." Watari crossed his arms over his chest, lithe fingers of his left hand tapping his chin in thought. 'Why did I go and pull all those files and records... if the man was just going to pop out of nowhere?' the blond thought to himself. 003 hooted softly, still semi-hiding in the long golden curly strands of the scientist's hair. "Seems as if your missing person is no longer miss, Micheal." the shinigami spoke with a smile, watching the event between the two unfold. Though he DID wonder if they were even aware of his presence...

"Good reason? To kill someone who only needed help..." Tsuzuki scoffed. "You know, perhaps if I had tried, just once, to reach out to you...instead of judging and hating...none of that would have ever happened. You...you really almost died, Kazu...and...and I feel like I deserved to die back then, if for only being such a fool." Sitting up, Tsuzuki turned his back on Muraki, leaning over and holding his knees to his chest in a defensive position. Half-joking, Tsuzuki chuckled, "It would only serve me right if you turned around and stabbed me in the back, Kazu. I'd deserve it."

Micheal looked back over his shoulder at Watari, still not releasing his hold on the angel. "I'm glad you are here. Saves me and Watari over there alot of effort." He grinned at Otori. "He's looking for you and trying to figure out just who exactly I am, apart from the obvious." The demon chuckled a little. This was a warmer, altogether kinder chuckle compared to his laughter earlier. Almost as if the angel held some sway over him.

"Doushite?" The question was soft, barely heard. Sighing, Muraki stood up, towel still tucked around his waist. The man walked over to the closet, grabbing one of the hotel-offered robes, and quickly donned it. When the doctor turned around to look at Tsuzuki, there was genuine concern and confusion in his grey gaze. "I did horrible things, didn't I? I've been doing these things for a long time from what you've said... I've killed so many and hurt so many others... You had a right to be angry. A right to want me dead, Asato. You judged me because no one else would! You hated me because you had to! If you are a fool for that, then so be it... but from your stance... the only help that would fix me... was death. Wasn't it?" 'Passionate words, niisan...' spoke the voice within Kazutaka's mind. 'But wasn't it I that deserved death and not you? Perhaps you should make that clear to the poor shinigami... Or... would it only make him hate himself more, hmm?'
~ ~ ~
One thin eyebrow arched at Micheal's comment. "I'm a scientist. It's my duty to learn everything I can, after all." the shinigami smiled pleasantly to the angel. "But it does make things easier now that we don't actually have to FIND you, Otori-san."

"I may have had a right to be angry...but I know what it's like to be...to be alone...to be hated...to...to hate myself." The shinigami bowed his head, obviously ashamed of himself. "All I'm saying, Kazu...is that I want you to forgive me...for not being able to be there for you sooner. That...and I'm sorry for being so crazy..." Tsuzuki chuckled to himself, standing up from the edge of the bed, sheet wrapped around his waist. Moving across the room, Tsuzuki gathered bits and pieces of his stray clothing...a shirt on the chair, one sock at the foot of the bed, one sock...in the ceiling fan? Pants on the ground... Pausing, Tsuzuki looked thoughtful. "Say...Kazu...don't you blame me...for any of this?"

Otori looked between Micheal and Watari for a moment, contented to remain in Micheal's arms. He listened quietly to what the two men had to say before he cocked his head to the side, pointed a long finger at Watari, and said, as simply as a school child, "Shinigami." Turning his head again, he looked back at Micheal. "Micheal...you do realize...that is a shinigami...right?" he blinked. Otori had a deep seated fear of shinigami now, not because of them in and of themselves, but because of what they could do to him if they so wished. The last thing he needed to have happen was for word of this to get back to Enma-sama.

Micheal looked at Otori, then back at Watari with a shrug. "I know what he is. We reached a stalemate of a sort earlier and reached an understanding. He agreed to help so what's the harm?" The demon looked vaguely alarmed at the fear that Otori was showing. His arms tightened around his angel and his expression turned protective and fierce. "I won't let anyone hurt you or come between us again." He meant every word of it, even if he had to face down all of heaven, earth, and hell to do so.

"He is benevolent, then?" Otori questioned, still a bit apprehensive. Of all the things he feared, he had feared punishment, perhaps even banishment to some place where there would be no hope at all for the future. Now that he was standing here, by some miracle, in Micheal's arms, the greatest thing he had to fear was the pain and torment of losing Micheal again. The demon's promise of protection, though, was quite soothing. A demon swearing protection to an angel though...it was markedly absurd, but theirs was and always would be a forbidden love.

"Hrmmm?" Micheal closed his eyes for a moment while he waited for Watari to answer. Personally, he really didn't care at the moment if the blonde answered or not. He wasn't trying to be rude he just wanted to get reaquainted with his angel after so many decades apart. He still hadn't fully recovered from the incident all those years ago. "Where have you been?" He asked Otori. ((OOC: It's totally in char for him at the moment to shut everything else but Otori out as much as he can. Sorry Nil. sweatdrop ))

"All those years..." Otori said flatly. "I suppose it has been a very, very long time. I can't lie...I don't even know what happened to me. I...I don't remember anything after that day...until about a year ago. Even the time period is shaky in my mind though. I remember only one thing for certain. I was bound to a human for some reason...to look after them, I think? Or...to teach them something? I can't remember...but something happened and...they're gone. I can't even remember who the person was now...I only remember being surrounded by fire and...and...I was crying for you, Micheal." Otori trembled, the thoughts both frightening and confusing him. "All I can tell you, beyond a shadow of a doubt, is that I missed you the entire time...and whatever it was that I was doing...somehow I was doing it for you."

Micheal took a few steps back and looked at Otori, the demon's hands resting on the angel's arms. Was he looking for some sort of scar or mark that his angel had suffered some of the same torment he had. "All that matters is that you are here now. We've been given a respite and I don't intend to let time slip again from my fingers." He smiled warmly at Otori and reached a hand up to lightly rest it against the angel's cheek. Micheal would much rather how he'd spent the years apart not be known. There was no need to trouble his lover with the knowledge of his torment. Or how exactly he'd won free of the netherworld to return to the human plane.

Smiling weakly at Micheal, Otori took a step back and turned to Watari. "Shinigami-san...thank you for helping Micheal." the angel bowed, wings folded in. "You said that you were a scientist though...could you perhaps help me figure out what happened to the human I was set to look over? I have this..." he retrieved from his side bag and held out a small clear plastic bag that held a lock of silvery white, somewhat burned hair. "This was in my hand when I snapped out of it about a year ago. I'm assuming it belonged to the one I was sent to look after."

The shinigami laughed slightly, "I wouldn't exactly call me 'benevolent', but I'm hardly going to give you up, if that's what you're worried about." After all, Watari knew full well what Enma-sama would do to someone who had harbored a demon... even as part of a case. The scientist liked his skin on his bones, to say the least. "Of course, the two of you are going to need to lay low... especially if you don't want Enma-sama noticing, got... it?" Plastic bags that size always distracted the scientist. Mainly because they always held something of great value... Clues. Plucking the bag from Otori's hand, the shinigami paced his apartment for a moment, amber gaze fixed on the hair inside. "A year ago?" he whispered, glancing at the angel. "Then it wasn't you... I mean, you couldn't have been the one to save him because you obviously don't remember it... unless it's stored in your memories and you were forced to forget... or maybe you thought you lost him and so you pushed the memories too deep to really remember. But then that wouldn't explain why he isn't dead, of course... But then it's burnt, as if in a fire... and Touda's flames would have scorched every inch of him if someone hadn't saved him. But who... and why..." spinning on his heel, Watari held up the bag and looked straight at Otori. "You found this in the ruins of a school, right? A medical university? In what should have been a basement? A basement laboratory if you want me to get specific?" Without realizing it, Watari was actually feeling panic about this news. Tatsumi was mad at him for pissing off Enma-sama, Hisoka was holing himself up because Tsuzuki wasn't exactly returning his feelings lately, and Tsuzuki was... Well, Watari didn't really know WHAT Tsuzuki was doing at the moment... and that realization, coupled with the implications of this simple strand of hair, a strand he would run a DNA analysis on in just a few moments, made the scientist pale at the thought.

Kazutaka didn't watch Tsuzuki as the shinigami went about collecting his clothes. Instead, he focused on the window, watching as rain streaked the glass. 'When had it begun to rain?' the man thought, though he was perfectly tuned into what the amethyst-eyed man was saying. "I can forgive you... but I have a feeling that I can only forgive you because I don't know what really happened. Some things are still blurry... but... I get the feeling... that a lot of what happened wasn't in my control." the doctor shook his head. "I can't blame you for what I can barely remember, Asato."

Micheal stepped aside as Otori passed him. He really wasn't sure what to think of what the angel was saying. There was certainly a little jealousy at the thought of his angel watching over someone else. Even if that someone had presumably died in a horrible way. "Fine." Was all he said to the comment that they lay low. He had found who he'd been looking for after all and so really had no need to make a big stir in the mortal world. The rest of the conversation and questions had no meaning to him, but obviously had some to both Watari and Otori. He fell silent and paid close attention to what was being said. It might prove useful in some way later.
