"You're preaching to the priest," Liam said, "Calm down, calm down. You were messed up, m'friend. You weren't you. You did, as a matter of fact, say you were going back to Rijan. Calm down. We all know that you're staying here now."
He loved watched people freak out. It was a kind of hidden hobby of his. The fact that Julian freaking out made him a bit nervous (sharing more than half a soul and all) was only mildly discerning.
...wait...
...what did he say?
"Ye love 'er er not?"
Rabid is so hearing about this later...

Bowing his head so that his hair hung over his face, trying to conceal the violent blush that had spread, Julian tried to remember his recent conversations with Rabid. There was that one in the maze...but hadn't he said he was going to stay?
What's wrong with me? Why can't I remember telling her that?
"I'm staying," he mumbled unnecessasarily. "I hate it there. Crow's exiled. She'd be killed."
At Liam's question, he looked away quickly, caught.
"N-yes. No. I'm-I'm not sure. I mean, we only knew each other a couple days. I..." he relented, sighing and looking up a bit defiantly.
"Yes. Yes, I do. Happy?"

"Quite," Liam smiled slyly and crossed one knee over the other, "Now calm down about the...the Rijan thing. What you said when...posessed or...whatever...can't be changed. You're staying. We know. Calm down, okay? You'll wear yourself out."
He was amused and a bit flustered all at once. Maybe he didn't hate Julian. Then again...maybe he did? Nobody'd quite admitted feeling anything aside from fear for Rabid...ah, yes. Rabid.
Hatred was the way to go.

Knowing perfectly well he was going to regret telling Liam anything, he sat down again beside him with a defeated sigh.
"You're enjoying this, aren't you?" he said, not bothering to skirt around it. Resting his chin on a fist again, he closed his eyes and sighed inwardly. He was grateful to Liam for the whole rescue thing, but toying with him about his feelings for Rabid was a bit on the cruel side...
Kill him.
Julian's eyes flew open again, and he slipped and fell hard onto his knees with a startled cry.
"Ouch," he breathed, feeling as though he'd cracked both kneecaps. Where the hell had that come from?!
"Liam, I gotta ask you something. Are...are you sure you did the whole rebirthing thing right?" he said, a hint of fear tinging his voice. He stood back up, wincing, and reclaimed his seat, warily hangning on with his claws digging into the surface to keep him from slipping again.
I'm not gonna hurt him. Doesn't matter that he's Rabid's friend, or that he saved me - he's an innocent bystander, and I'm not hurting him.

"What the..." Liam instantly began checking Julian over for any signs of rejection, "Yes. Mostly. Look, I'd only done it twice before, and those two got themselves killed soon after. I just thought...ah, bloody Hell..."
Maybe he'd been too quick to offer his services. Maybe he hadn't been ready to bring someone back. Maybe he never would be. He untied his uniform and began searching through the numerous pockets for something that appeared useful.
"C'mon, Doctor Boy. Tell me what's going on."
And please, for the love of the Gods, don't murder me...

He shook his head, as though trying to clear it.
"I keep wanting to hurt people."
Way to be blunt. Crow'd be proud.
Cracking his knuckles hard, making the joints crackle in protest, he looked at Liam anxiously.
"Not just hurt. I want to kill people. For no reason at all. Just to kill. It's like there's someone else inside, wanting me to do these things..." he passed his hands over his eyes, feeling the tips of his claws graze his skin.
"It's because of Crow. I know she didn't mean to change me like this...but her soul, it's poisoned. No, that's not right....it's, hmm. It's different. Yeah, that'll work."
Getting up and stepping away from Liam , just in case, he hooked his thumbs in his pockets again and watched him with keen red eyes.
"Because of what she is...I'm tainted, almost. My reflection doesn't show me, the way I look to you. It's not at all as bad as Crow's was, but... oof. Nothing's ever easy, is it?" he murmured, looking at his hands and curling them into fists in a fit of disgust.
"I can't keep going on like this - I've already lost control once."
And you loved it, didn't you?

"Look, it's my fault," Liam said and settled on just removing his uniform completely and casting it aside, "I should have given you all of mine. I was being selfish. I don't need one any more. I knew this was going to happen to you. Somewhat, at least. I'm no newbie."
You bloody idiot, he can't kill you! You can't die.
He took a step closer to Julian before asking, "Who, exactly, did you lose it on?"
He was really not in the mood for a bloody corpse hunt.

Ah, crap. Shouldn't have said that.
"No...one?" he said a bit shiftily, backing away and deeply grateful Liam couldn't read thoughts. The memory of William crying out in pain, still so fresh and beautiful in the dark part of his mind that nursed all his cruelties, played out the glorious sound of it over and over.
Cripes. I'm becoming a genuine sadist - thank god I haven't developed a thing for fetish.

"HAH!" Liam laughed joyfully and pointed, "You lit William on fire that day, didn't you?!" He couldn't stop laughing. The thought of his worst and oldest enemy running away like a wounded animal was highly amusing, not to mention extremely satisfying. He then decided to invade Julian's mind, just for the Hell of it.
"Kinky," he snerked and said half-jokingly, "I'll be sure to tell Rabid of your thoughts you strange, strange little man." He leaped backward reflexively, still laughing and hoping that Julian would take no offense.
He couldn't possibly hate him now.

Dammit, you can read thoughts? That's....kinda creepy.
Feeling a little violated, but glad that Liam seemed past the notion to mutilate him, Julian gave an uneasy smile.
"I...yeah. I did." He coughed once, nervously. "Please, for the love of God, don't tell Rabid anything about what I said. She....I....just keep a lid on it, alright?"
Trying to keep another bloodthirsty surge at bay as he considered the deeply embarrasing weapon Liam wielded over him, he grasped blindly for a new topic.
"So. This William guy - what does he want? Why's he skulking around here?"

"Psh. She's into that kind of...eh," Liam snerked, "but okay. As for William? He's after my body. Aren't we all? I was supposed to stay dead while he went off in search of fetuses to inhabit. I didn't, so he must be dying. I wasn't evil enough, apparently. We share a name, we look the same...yanno...all that fun stuff. The necromantic crap? That's him, not me. Then again...I guess I am him. Kind of depressing."
He crossed his arms and arched an eyebrow as he had an astonishingly frightening epiphany.
"We share a soul. You may not be safe."

Julian couldn't help but feel some kind of twisted kinship with Liam now - to have outside forces invade and control by force was a violation he knew far too well. But as Liam continued on, dread formed in the pit of Julian's stomach, a cold knot that seemed to choke the breath out of him.
"No....I don't think I am."
Had William attacked him and Rabid that day in the maze because he thought Liam was there, not him?
He might come back for me, he thought, feeling panicked. What if he tries to get me, and I'm with Crow and Lenore? He might kill them!

"Don't worry," Liam said, sensing nervousness, "just stay in the HQ and don't travel out alone. He wouldn't go out of his way to hurt you. You'll know when he's coming. You should hear him...kind of like a psychotic. If he does anything, blow him up and come to get me."
He sighed and tapped a finger nervously.
"Take good care of Rabid and the kids if I don't like through this whole disaster, alright?"

Flames flickered again, involuntary but threatening, as Julian briefly fantasized about killing William.
Put out his eyes and take his tongue, THEN burn him. Make him suffer a bit first.... he thought.
Giving his head a violent shake to return to his senses, he gave Liam an analytical look before nodding in agreement.
"I promise, I won't let anything happen to them." He hesitated. "Or you. You saved my life."

"Thanks, guv," Liam smiled slightly, eyeing the sudden flame and feeling a bit awkward, "Don't kill him. Not yet. I'd like to give him a piece of my mind."
He then pulled a previously invisible, intangible rifle from mid-air, twirled it once, and smirked a bit evilly.
"Or my gun," he snerked and sent it back into the air around him.
