((I didn't mean to sound stingy or anything. =( It's just that I write stuff like a book would sound or something...And lots of role players only make their characters go through the actions like a robot. And, uh, Stephanie was Jake's older sister, it just seemed like she was the younger one because he took care of her...))
Rore stared at Jake for a moment, then his expression softened. "Yes, I understand. That subject must still be hard for you to talk about." He smiled, his brown eyes sparkling. "Don't worry, many people have things that they're still struggling with. It's natural to feel that way. I don't mean to pry, but did you only live with your sister, or did you have a mother and father?"

"Well..."-Before Jake could begin a large quake rocked the library sending several books falling off their shelves- "What the hell is this?" -The quakeing subsided then stopped. Jake got up and looked around and saw several cracks in the walls. Which wasn't very good because outside was empty space and Elistral, Verin and Rore wouldn't survive. He really didn't know about Demios- "We have to get out of here. This place is about to collapse." -Jake snapped his fingers and everyone dissappeared from the room just as another quake came and destroyed the library. They reappeared in a dark valley with lightning strikeing around a single building an obsidian palace. Mal's Palace- "Uhhhhh woops didn't mean to teleport us here."
"Maybe the quake messed with the magic in the library?" -Demios was standing beside a tree-
"Possibly but since we're here we may as well go and save Strider's but don't you agree Elistral?" -Jake crossed his arms and looked over the valley at the palace-
"First things first. We need a plan. Do you think Mal would make it so easy as to where we could just walk through the front door. No someones going to have to make a diversion. Only question is who. They'll have to be fast, strong, smart, and unbelivably lucky but who could that be?"
"Why not you?" -Jake looked at Demios-
"Me why me?" -Demios looked at Jake like he was crazy-
-Jake looked at Demios and sighed and held up four and started listing off four things putting one finger down as he went- "You have wings for speed, you have dragon strength, your over a thousand years old and have more knowladge of the world than any of us here, and you have a magical charm that gives the wearer unbelieveable luck. Is there anything else that needs to be said?"
"Well when you put it like that. Well now then as for a plan. Any suggestion Elistral?" -Demios looks at Elistral-

Crow pulled up a little and took in the sight of Mal's palace. It loomed high above the charred ground, its dark walls barely glinting as the sun came up. He gave a small smile and flew lower to look in the inner compound. Small groups clustered here and there, apparently not everyone was dead. Lightning flashed around him, mercifully not striking him in midair. He shook his head."Lightning seems to be a common trait between those two." He said, referring to Strider and Mal.
Verin, who'd been lying on a couch before, rolled off a pile of rocks to the ground in his sleep. He hit his head pretty hard and curled up in a small ball of pain. "Damnit! What the hell--?!" Rore suppressed a shudder at a memory when he saw the palace and bent down to help Verin up. "You're not bleeding, that's a good sign." Verin rubbed his head furiously and didn't reply, hoping it'd feel better.
Elistral thought for a moment. "Well, it doesn't seem that he knows we're here. Yet." She noticed groups of figures making their way towards the structure and nodded to herself, happy that there were some survivors. "We could sneak in, then go looking for Strider. I have a feeling him and Mal are in the same place, so it won't be hard of a search." She looked down and saw a rough path down the side of the valley and felt a slight vertigo feeling before it passed. "I guess technically, that would be walking in through the front doors. And if that doesn't work, then we would've already found Mal. Other than that, I can't think any other plans right now."

"See Jake a distraction isn't nessecary." -Demios looked relieved-
"Well good because you probably would have died. Now uh I suggest if we are going in through the front door that we get the correct clothes because if you ask me we shall probably stand out since we have nice clothes on. Also I think Mal would have sensors to detect magic abilities so better to have clothes that conceal our magic." -Jake snapped his fingers and his clothes were covered by rags of clothes. Along with everyone else- "Well." -Jake looked around at everyone- "No one has to go if they don't want. Once we get inside who knows what were going to encounter. We could face horror's beyond any of our imagination. So. Who wants out?"
"Well i've come this far. I'm not going to quit now." -Demios looked down a little scared-
"You Elistral?" -Jake was shakeing a little himself-

Elistral looked down at her clothes, seeing only rags in place of where her actual clothes would be. That was a good thing, her garb looked like it was finery before, and that wouldn't help her sneaking in. She looked up and noticed Jake was shaking. She placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder and smiled. "I won't quit for as long as I live. The only thing that will stop me will most likely be death." She glanced at Verin and Rore. "What about you two?"
Verin straightened up and frowned when he saw the palace in the distance. Where younger looking boy was feeling fear, he felt anger rising up. "That b*****d attacked Salim, killed everyone I knew, and pretty much destroyed everything in one go. If you think that I'm going to wimp out now, you're wrong."
Rore nodded. "I'm not leaving either. My house is probably gone. My wife, daughter and most likely my friend are dead now, too." He started to tear up as he said that, but shook his head. "I've nothing to go back to. If that man is the one who did all of this, I'd be much happier if he paid for his actions."
"Then what're we waiting for, let's go already." Verin said, and started to make his way down the side of the valley, already planning his revenge. Rore, more sober than Verin, went after him, grabbing his arm to make him wait for the others.
Crow began to feel a little uneasy with lightning continually striking. He flew lower and landed on the wall above the gate where survivors where coming through. He felt through his cloak and found his cross he'd kept. It fit in his hand nicely, the bright silver flashing every time lightning struck. He didn't know why he hadn't thrown it away, maybe it was because his familiars had taken a fascination to it.

"Ah Crow. I'm glad you came. I'm sorry about the lightning. Though it's not very harmful being heat lightning and all." -Mal walks over to Crow and looks over all the people- "Nice isn't it? I sent out a message to all survivors that i'll protect them and feed them and they flocked to me." -Mal began to walk towards where he came- "Oh and Crow. You should have stayed at Silver city." -Mal shot Crow with a lightning bolt crashing him into a wall knocking him unconcious. Then Reaper came and stood beside Mal- "Take him to the dungeon and lock him up."
"Alright but why'd ya shock him like that?" -Reaper goes over and picks Crow up and droops him over his shoulder-
"Strider has been contacting him and you know me I don't trust anything. Especially not my allies."
"Whatever you say Mal." -Reaper walks off to the dungeon and Mal looks one more time across the valley before returning to his throne room-
-Jake looked at the palace and saw a light shine probably some more lightning- "Ok then lets go. Lets end this. One way or another." -Jake started down the path- "If we do this right then we should enter the palace and we'll sneak our way to Mal.Of course knowing our current record plans usually don't go so well do they?"
"Never a dull moment." -Demios also started down the path-

"Lot of luck that does us." Verin mumbled darkly.
Rore let go of Verin's arm and followed after him. He shook his head to himself, figuring out that Verin was pretty hot-headed when motivated. "Well, if plans don't last too long, then you could always do what this one new recruit did. Seemed to work for him." Verin didn't turn to look at him but asked, "What?" Rore shrugged and his hand settled on his belt, which now looked like it was used for a makeshift dog lease. He had a habit of doing that, wanting to be able to grab his sword's hilt. "Wing it." he replied simply. Verin cast a look over his shoulder at the older man then turned back to look in front of him, giving a snort. Rore shrugged again and looked off at the palace, thoughts drifting off.
Elistral followed in behind the group, glad that Jake hadn't moved them closer to their destination. Even though the disguises muted their magic aura, besides Rore and Verin who had none, she was sure Mal would have found them if they weren't walking like the other ragged bands. She began to wonder about everyone that had perished. How many of her previous friends were still alive? Were they "strong" enough to still be breathing? And then, what if she and the others around her hadn't been protected somehow? How many of them would be dead, including her? She shook her head, keeping her mind on the task at hand but it still whirring about what ifs.
Crow's consciousness came trickling back, and he was aware of being jostled up and down through one of the palace's black corridors. Then he felt an ache in his chest and his back, suddenly remembering being hit by Mal's lightning and a hard wall. He took an experimental breath, a little glad that he was a demon. He moved his head slightly to see the back of the man's head who was carrying him. Taking a moment to think, he realized that he didn't know why Mal had shot him or where he was being taken either. He shook his head and decided to ask a question. "I don't suppose you'd let me down, so I'll ask a question instead. What just happened?"

((Oh and reaper is of irish decent =D)) -Reaper looked over his shoulder- "Your awake are ya? Well Mal don' trust ya no more. Said Strider's contacted you and stuff like he don' trust anyone and all but over all i'm afraid your going to the dungeon. Oh an no tryin' to escape. Don' wanna have to kill ya." -Reaper kept walking down the corridor-
-Jake saw that Elistral was a little uneasy- "Hey Demios lead the way down the hill."
"Kay." -Demios went ahead and continued down the almost invisible path-
-Jake went back and started walking with Elistral- "Penny for your thoughts?"

((Awesome! blaugh One day, I will have one of my characters be a pirate!))
Elistral slowed to match Jake's pace as he came up beside her. She glanced at him, then gave a smile before looking ahead of herself again. "It would take more than a penny to hear what I'm thinking, Jake." She paused, then spoke again. "I was thinking of what the fates of my friends are. Some of them are ones I've met on the road, and others I've known since my childhood." She gave a sigh and shook her head, quietly speaking. "And the forest where the other elves are. Those tall, ancient trees are probably just stumps now, or completely gone."
Rore glanced at Demios as he went by to the front, then at Verin. As far as he knew. neither of them knew him. And Verin didn't seem like he was in a talking mood right now. "So," he started to speak, clearing his throat in the semi-silence. "Your name is...Demios, right? Why are you in this little...group, for?"
Crow went silent, thinking over what the strange accented man had said. He looked down at his hand, noticing he was still holding his cross. For a moment, he wondered if he could knock him out with it, but then he dismissed it. He moved it back and forth before putting it away in a pocket, which was hard, considering he had to reach up. Then he crossed his arms. "That Strider is fairly persistent. Came to me two or three times trying to get me to switch sides." He shook his head and watched the floor.

"I don't know but when it comes to fate it seems that everything happens for a reason and fate always finds a way to make things right again for not all things are absolute. Though I guess you of all people should know that." -Jake looked at the sky- "'Darkness always passes no matter how powerful it is.' Is what Strider would always tell me."
-Demios looked back to see Rore- "Well I have known Strider for hundreds of years. Strider helpped me and my freind Konjou defeat the Dark Lord. Ever since then i've helpped Strider any way I could. Mostly with supplies and keeping the Dark Lord locked away. Every now and again though he takes me on some adventures. So this isn't very new to me being dragged into some fued or war out of the blue you know?"
"Maybe he knew this would happen ya know?" -Reaper made it to the dungeon and opened the nearest cell and threw Crow in- "Now nice talkin' to ya. Oh and the next time ya feel like knockin' me out you should do it. I was jus about ta shoot ya." -Reaper walked away and out of the dungeon-
-George was meditateing in Mal's thrown room. He opened his eyes as Reaper walked in then went back to meditateing-
-Marie looked down from her perch on the rafters and jumps down- "So Reaper where is Mal?"
-Reaper looked at Marie weirdly- "What are ya talkin' about. He came here after he shot Crow right?"
-George spoke- "No and he concealed his mind to well for me to find him."
-Oni got up from his chair- "Hm without Mal what are we going to do?"
-George opened his eyes- "Well we could kill those five trouble makers."
-Reaper looked at George- "Ya Mean there here?" -George nodded- "Well then Marie. George go. Kill em all." -Marie and George both disappeared- "Oni go wait on the bottom level i'll go find Mal."
"So be it. Do you really think that George and Marie will fail?" -Oni had started heading for the door-
"Think so? I know so but thats two less people to share power with." -Reaper smiles and heads for the opposite door-
"You sir are a devil a humans skin." -Oni disappears behind the door-

Elistral nodded in agreement. "I was thinking about that too. Even if we do something about the current situation, it will just happen again later in the future. At times, I wish it would all stay peaceful. But even then, when nothing is wrong, people will get bored soon." She paused and looked off.
"Yes, that's happened to me sometimes also. One moment, I'd be with others of my group at a tavern, then another, we'd be getting orders to go off to some far away town or city." Rore said in agreement. Verin glanced back at him curiously and asked, "You fought in battles? What were they like?" Rore shrugged indifferently. "Sometimes they were quick and to the point, or long and drawn out, or more than I care to remember about."
Crow picked himself off of the floor and rubbed his slightly sore back. So much for politeness. There wasn't much to look at in the cell, in fact, there was only a chair and a table with no window. He didn't feel much like just sitting around and having nothing to do. He eyed the bars of his cell and figured that he'd be able to squeeze through them, if he extended his wings and brought one through first, then his body, and his other wing after. He went over to them and maneuvered himself through them, then stood outside of the cell and looked around.

-Jake looked down the path then he saw two people blocking their path and Jake instantly knew who they were- "Oh crap."
-Demios stopped infront of two people. One he knew as George. The other from her looks was Marie- "Jake?" -Demios drew his sword-
"About time you five got here. You may have been able to mask your magic you couldn't hide your aura." -George eyed Jake-
-Marie drew her ice spear and ice armor-
-Demios stepped back a bit- "Jake take everyone out of here i'll take these two."
"You can't take them alone." -Jake didn't know what to do. Elistral, Verin and Rore needed Jake to get in the castle but Demios couldn't beat both of them by himself- "Oh Dammit you better make it." -Jake snapped his fingers and Jake, Verin, Rore and Elistral dissappeared-
"Don't worry. I'll be fine." -Demios charged-

"Finally, we're getting somewhere." Verin muttered a bit loud, and went to go around the boulder Jake had teleported them behind. He was eager to get his revenge. Rore grabbed his arm firmly and pulled him back behind the rock's protection. "We're closer now, don't go out in the open like that." He said, nodding his head to the top of the boulder. He could see the palace's top from behind it, looming up above them. "It's not safe, think rationally, Verin" He insisted when Verin opened his mouth to protest.
Elistral peeked out from the other side, able to see the gates much clearer now. They only had to go a nice bit of distance before they would be inside the compound. The ragged bands from earlier kept close together in groups, looking nervously from side to side. She ducked back and glanced towards the ridge where they had been, seeing tiny bursts of flashes. "Are you sure that he can take the two of them by himself." She asked Jake, referring to Demios, who's they left to fight two of Mal's lieutenants. "Even though you mentioned his strengths, are you sure that they will not use any weaknesses against him?"
Crow rolled his shoulders, glad that the soreness was fading away. He looked around at the hallway outside of a row of cells. It stretched far from one wooden door to another, torches placed evenly on the walls for light, because there were no windows he could see. So, he was in the dungeons. That meant he was underground. It was a little stifling, but he was used to the tunnels of he Ravager's base anyway. He eyed the door that Reaper had disappeared through, and decided it would be smarter to take the other way, so he headed for the opposite door.

"Ha! Weaknesses? Demios' only weaknesses is that he doesn't have any magic. Not that he needs it with his inpenatrable dragon scales. He isn't the king of dragons for nothing. He'll be fine as long he doesn't get over confident now we need to worry about ourselves." -He peered around the boulder at the gate and used magic to magnify his vision- "There don't seem to be any gaurds but it seems there's another one of Mal's Lieutenants at the top of a flight of stairs overseeing who's comeing in. So the front door isn't going to work anymore." -Jake canceled his magic and sat down with his back to the boulder with an agitated look on his face- "How could have been so foolish to have forgoten our auras?" -Jake rested his chin on his right hand-
-Demios blocked Marie's ice spear and then kicks George in the gut knocking the wind out of him. The uses his dragon powers to breathe lightning at Marie-
-Marie ducks then jumps back- "This guys tougher than he looks."
"He is a companion of Striders so what do you expect?" -George had regained his breath-
-Demios transformed his arm into it's dragon form and charged at Marie and as she stabbed with her spear demios used his transformed left arm as a shield and slashed cutting her spear in two-
-Marie jumped back to make another spear but this time Demios had sprouted his wings and had lunged after her and slashes but Marie dodges and stabs Demios with the tip of her broken spear and Demios skids to a halt on the ground holding the spear tip protruding from his side. Demios pulls it out and throws it to the ground and raises his sword-

Elistral shook her head at what Jake said. "It's not your fault, Jake. I wondered about it, and I should have asked you if masked them or not. Even though only two of us have auras that could be sensed like that." She thought for a moment. "They most likely know we're here now--" Verin let out a scoff at that. Elistral ignored him. "--So, we could either sneak in a different way or one of us could go after this lieutenant. Verin can't, his watch can only absorb magical attacks. So that leaves me, you and Rore. If that lieutenant uses swords, then me or Rore could fight him while the other three went after Mal."
"Like that would work." Verin growled out. "I say we charge 'em, rush in, kill that Mal guy, then do whatever else we need to do." "That would just get us killed." Rore noted, shaking his head. "Never rush into a battle that could go either way."
Crow tried the door's handle, finding that it turned easily. He slipped into the room and looked around, closing the door behind him. It looked like it was a small store room. There were some stairs across from him, elading up to a trap door set into the ground above. He smiled to himself. Hopefully that was the way out. He climbed the stairs and pushed the wooden door up a tiny bit, hearing voices and seeing shadows on the ground. He automatically recognized the voice of Elistral, the one who played as a bard in Salim. His smile grew a little wider, and he retracted his wings back into his back. Maybe this could work out in his favor. He took out his cross, paused a minute, then shoved upward on the door, exclaiming, "Ah, the way out!" He widened his eyes at the sight of four people behind a rock,, two boys, a woman and a man. He looked surprised and scared, even haking a little, then he gasped. "Oh, thank the gods! I've found you!" He gripped his cross in both hands and brought it up to his lips, looking all the part of a holy priest.
