Yay, we're in agreement!!! And Masquerades are fun enough that I don't think people would mind. XD But still, it's a very specified masquerade, and the theme's different enough that I THINK it might be okay. ^_^ If it wasn't, it could always just be a mythical creatures theme.

And I also agree we need a much bigger plot upstairs. What if people upstairs started disappearing? And when they disappeared upstairs, they appeared as creatures downstairs? That keeps it all connected. Then we could plant people to come back up from the labyrinth and say "Oh, hey, I saw someone with that name downstairs!" We have an undercurrent of rp, but not enough to scare people away. ^_^ What do you think of that?

Sorry I'm not more use, but I'm crazy busy. I have way too many side projects going on to come up with any ideas. sweatdrop

I strongly advise using the meebo room. I'm pretty much always there, and it can be really useful for brainstorming. <3

Of course we need good plot line for both sides of the dunegon, but there is no way that we could work out disappearences, and then changing to animals. People would probably only monitor one are; the upstairs or downstairs. This means that they couldn't hear the name from somewhere else, no would they probably care. We also can't just ask people to disappear downstairs. We can't be too forceful.

Lectern- Oh, I realize that. I was just throwing ideas around. ^_^ I'm a crazy writer, remember? And I was talking more CHARACTERS, not guests! That would be terrible! And the Meebo rooms aren't working for me either. sad

Crystal- Basic idea in the all of text: Mythical creatures masquerade put on by mysterious figure upstairs, labyrinth of actual mythical creatures downstairs. May or may not be thread a day. That was my summarized wall of text. smile

Anime- I know what you mean. Just look at all the ideas we've come up with so far? If we couldn't think up a plot, I give up on Gaia. razz

I know, whatever happened to Dolly? I'm starting to get a little bit worried...

Oh, and I just checked, and the Meebo room still isn't showing up. I think it disappeared.

After some contemplation, I think we all (me most of all!) need to just take a couple steps back, take a few deep breaths, and let go of the themes that are near and dear to our hearts for just a little while. Clean slate and all that! biggrin It'll be easier to talk to each other if we don't take things so seriously!! We have all the time in the world.... So lets just get some more ideas out there, and leave the past ideas be for the time being. We're talking the death out of them!!

Just an idea, I see myself becoming edgy, and I think it's a good idea to keep an open mind. *decisive nod*

First of all-- wow.. I'm gone for the day and several pages go by. Nice.

Secondly, Angelisha-- the main threads did run painfully slow. I hate to come out and say this so publicly, but there were many times during the ball that I was bored out of my mind. And for the times I wasn't bored I was swamped with behind the scenes things. My sources have suggested the main reason that the ball may have not seem slow to you is that you were in one of the more popular threads-- but even that thread had periodic downtime.

What added to my bordum:
• My character was primarily grounded to the library. Not being able to mingle in the other plot threads kinda sucked.
• Thread was relatively slow. I like a fast pace or I get bored and distracted away from a topic easily.
• We had a handful of regulars. Some with the love for RP and others for the love of winning free stuff. Even though my thread did have a good post count in comparison to some of the other threads, at a glance I could tell we lacked in participation.
• RP was constantly derailed by random spammers and it really made it so unpleasant that I barely wanted to be there.
• I'm not hugely involved in RP on gaia. I'd honestly question whether or not our numbers were down because Gaia has a large non-rping audience. All of the popular threads in that forum were Non-RP threads. I'd also go out on a limb when I wonder if those who are big into RP would already be involved in their own RP in their guilds and barton town.
• Since it was RP based I couldn't be myself-- and I think I play myself far better than I play a character.

Now that was a mouthful..

But moving onto other subjects..

I need more clarification on this celebration debate. By celebrations do you mean a theme on celebrations or actual celebrations with a party element? Because I'm going to come right out and say it.. but its not necessarily the same. You can have a series of celebrations in a labyrinth.

My next concern is that ideas are becoming more and more complex and may not be loose enough for individual creativity.

I do this a lot but, I have to agree with anime. I think it's more unfair to expect for someone to have to keep up with the topic from start to finish then to create fresh themes each day that co-relate in some way. It's like comparing soap operas to sitcoms. If you miss just one episode of a Days of Our Lives and you could be lost for days, but missing an episode of Family Guy is not of a huge consequence to being able to watch another episodes. What do they both have in common? Both have a main set of characters and encompass a plot that relate to people on some level. Difference is a sitcom generally has a bit more closure at the end of the episode.

Coming up with a format that will let people easily jump in and jump out would be for the best. But I also want people who want a more detailed plot to be included. If anything, I think I have a solution.. (to be continued)
