Amora nodded, then glanced around to make sure no one else was near. She tugged at the collar of her blouse, pulling it down by her left shoulder to show Lin a long, jagged scar that went from her collarbone, near her shoulder, down across her heart and off to the left of it.

"This is all I have to remember it by," she explained. "And I can't think of any way that would happen in training."

Lin frowned, to her it looked like a fight gone wrong and that was the mark left from it. She really couldn't think of what would have happened.

"You look like you got slashed,"
Lin admitted, "But I can't imagine how that would have happened."

Quite the accident indeed.

"That's what doesn't make sense," Amora frowned, patting her blouse back into place and continuing to lead Lin forward. "If it were a slash from my trainer, I'm sure he wouldn't be here anymore ... but he is, so it can't have been his fault. So where else could it have come from?"

She shook her head. "I just can't imagine."

And Lin herself doubted it could have been Amora, it was on her chest of all places and as far as she could tell her new friend hadn't impaled herself on the sword.

At least she hoped not.

"No clue..." Lin admitted, "It would take... an incredible feat if it was your sword that did that though, so I doubt it was that."

Suddenly Lin could see this being a very traumatizing accident, and there was more to it than Amora not trying hard enough to master the weapon.

Amora nodded. "But I suppose we'll find out in the morning, yes?" she murmured as they reached her room. She opened the door for them and motioned for Lin to lead the way in. "Perhaps then some of this mystery will be cleared up. Maybe then I'll be able to figure out why I can't hold a sword anymore."

She shook her head incredulously. "My fingers just ... refuse to close around the grip."

It was no wonder why Amora was having so much trouble with the sword, using it must be like pulling teeth. Lin looked thoughtful as she stepped into Amora's room.

Sure enough all four of her butterflies were on Amora's mirror. From the looks of it Fayet was licking his own reflection too. Foxy butterfly drool, how nice....

"Well... I guess we find out tomorrow." Lin murmured.

"Yes," Amora nodded with a faint smile. "We will indeed."

She watched the butterflies for a moment, intrigued by them - she had never seen butterflies of any sort before, let alone fox butterflies - and then she moved forward into the room, leaving the door open.

"So ... there's your butterflies," she smiled. "What else did you leave in here?"

"Just my bag," Lin replied, "Oh... and I left my clothes on the bed."

She went over to get them as well and packed them away. Looking over her shoulder she whistled to call her butterflies over, they would need to be fed before she went to sleep.

"I think... otherwise that's it."

Amora nodded and smiled. "Then allow me to take you to where you'll be staying," she murmured. "This way. It's right beside my room, so when you wake up in the morning you can just knock on my door or something."

She led Lin to the door to the right of her own and opened it for her, escorting her inside. The room was almost identical to Amora's own room, with a canopy bed, white silken sheets (no blanket, it was far too hot for that), a dresser, closet, desk and chair.

Lin curiously scanned the room, "Thank you."

This would do well, it had more than enough room for her, though with elven sized beds there was always more than enough room for her. She let her butterflies loose, she would give them their food soon.

"So I'll see you in the morning?"

Amora smiled brightly at Lin. "Of course," she nodded. "I'll be awake as soon as the sun is over the horizon, so if it's light in here it's safe to come get me. Unless of course I come get you first. Can't be late for breakfast, after all." She giggled softly.

She looked around. "Through that door over there," she pointed to the southern wall, "is your bath chamber. There should be water drawn for you."

"Okay," Lin nodded glancing at the door, she put her bag on the dresser and rooted around.

Until she brought out a small container of berries, she set a few out for her foxes to eat, she wondered if it was because they were part butterfly that they were actually vegans by nature.

"After I feed these imps."

Amora giggled softly. "I'll leave you to it then," she smiled. "Good night, Lin. I'm very glad you've come."

And she slipped out the door and was gone.

Lin grinned as she finished setting out food for them to eat. Once she knew they were occupied she readied herself to bed. This had been a most interesting day, and she was even more certain everyone back home would be very interested to know about Pen's (Estel's) and Lothiriel's growing family.

When morning came, the sun shone strongly through the window and Lin had rolled out of bed earlier to brush her hair out from the rat nest it became and to get changed.

"Now be good," she told the four as she set out food for them, "You can wander but try not to freak anyone out?"

When Amora went to Lin's room to get her up the next morning, she was dressed far differently than she had been the day before. Rather than a skirt and blouse, she was wearing a tunic and pants, looking very much as if she had just come from the Borderlands forests - except that her clothes were still made of spidersilk, and were light and thin. Quite clearly, she was ready for her training - even if she didn't want to have to do it.

She smiled to herself as she stood, poised to knock on Lin's door, listening to her speaking to her butterflies through the wood of the door. After a moment, she knocked, then opened the door and let herself in.

"Good morning," she said warmly. "I hope you slept well."

Having heard Lin talking in English to her butterflies, she kept to the same language - not that it made a difference to her.
