"Mom's problem is that she wants to help too much," Tatiana said. "She pushes herself too hard. Always for some one else's sake. If anyone else took as bad care of themselves as she does, she'd club them over the head and force them into better habits."

"You're worse! I love you mom, I'd like to keep you around a bit longer, thank you."
"It's not like I can die, not really."
"And being locked up in the clinic red room, tied to the bed so you don't try to heal others while you're supposed to be healing yourself is living?"

When Lapis is in direct contact with our skin, or in direct contact with metal that is, like an electric current, we can handle the sunlight. We cannot pull our fangs out, or use our extra strength in the sun. If we came into the sun with out fangs out, stone or no, it is suicide. But with a good piece of lapis, we can fit in with the humans, and the other night worlders. I was wondering if it might help your kind as well."

Aedrus took a deep breath in attempt to calm himself. "If we were the same as the undead, perhaps that would work...but my people are not the undead. And it is not the light that is a problem. It is that our bodies are incapable of moving. They are as still as stone in the mid day, regardless if we are in the light or not."
