Sadayakko sighed; it seemed another maid had beaten her to serving Yokome both times. She had enjoyed aiding the maiko greatly, for she was a kind woman. Sadayakko shrugged a bit; it couldn't be helped.

However, she did notice that the maid, Mitsuki, who had served Yokome, had failed to clean the kitchen when she had taken Yokome her meal. Sadayakko scrubbed dishes and wiped the counters; eventually, she found herself so engrossed that she found herself on her hands and knees giving the floor one of the most thorough scrubbings it had ever had. It was a good thing that she often slipped into the cleaning spirit since she was a maid; there was always something to clean.

Kyoku giggled lightly. "Yes mother, but wait you have to spark flint! I cant go out if you dont, its unlucky!" She quickly hurried to slip her feet into her shoes and waited for the maid to open the door.

After a few moments Yukiko couldn't help but smile. She knew that if she were still home, she would recieve more than just a stern talking-to if she were caught dilly-dallying. She was thankful for this.
"Why if that were mother, I would be severly punished...why in fact, I would've gotten severly punished for sweeping too loud!" She thought.
"Allright Yukiko! Let's not mess this up!" she said with pride and determination as she swept along at a steady pace.

"Thank you." Kikaru looked back at the maid in the mirror, then turned a little to admire her hair. "Very nice." She nodded to the maid, "..you may go now."

Yukiko shook her head at the thought of her old home-life because a mild sense of fear came over her. He mother used to stand over her sometimes when she worked, as if she thought Yukiko were going to steal the very wood she was polishing and when Yukiko didn't do something right, her mother would make her do the whole thing over again. So Yukiko used to deliberatly work very slow so that her mother would get so bored, she wold walk away. After her mother walked away, Yukiko would stil polish slowly. It was a way for her to relax, think, and daydream without getting into trouble.

As she worked, she realized that she was polishing not too far from the door.
"Oh, I'm sorry." she said bowing low as she noticed a geisha standing near the door. She bowed again as she opened it for her to let her out.
"Have a good night!" She chirpped enthusiasticly, not really knowing where the geisha was heading.
"Well, back to work!" She said to herself, once she had closed the door again after the geisha had left.

Xu Jia nodded "thank you" she got up slowly and began to leave she smiled to ehrself glad that she finally did something, it made her feel like she made a difference. Xu jia walk to her room sitting down to clean her slippers. Dirty slippers werent very lady like but clean ones said something about the maid who wore them. Xu Jia took her time in cleaning her slippers. Given enough time she kew there would be alot of maiko's who needed help and she would be there to help there every need until she in return could become a maiko.
