Playfully brushing his tail over Terrie's Emris smiled, "I think stew should be enough..." He replied putting down a newly cleaned potato, "I think?"
"Stew's fine by me." Replied Xennek gruffly before he continued chopping up random vegetables beside of Yuna who shook her head.
Emris looked at Terrie with a small smile, "Did you have anything extra in mind?" He asked as he started to slice at another potato.

Tilting her head at Xennek's gruffness, Terrie shook her head. "Nothing in particular." She paused and smirked. "But, since we have the bread out already..." She ran her fingers along Emris' spine as she passed him heading to the cellar. "We still have a couple jars of peach jam around here, don't we Emris?" She asked as she went down the steps in search.

A tingling feeling ran up and down Emris's back at Terrie's touch. Faintly blushing the foxtaur left the vegetables to Yuna and Xennek so he could help Terrie. Nodding Emris followed Terrie down the steps. "Yeah...there should be several jars down here still." He replied walking slowly behind her, "Just be careful on these steps."

Terrie turned her head. "What's wrong with the st-" She yelped as suddenly suddenly slipped on a damp step, her arms windmilling and legs sliding out from underneath. Being on the third to last step, she didn't have far to fall, but she banged her elbows and chin. Landing on the floor, her hands instantly flew to her fox belly, making sure it was okay.
"Thank goodness." She said with a sigh, happy her stomach was uninjured.

"Terrie!" Emris gasped before jumping down to ungracefully slide beside of her. "Are...are you okay?" He asked worry plainly on his face as he reached for her. Some relief showed on his face as she whispered her 'thank goodness' and Emris decided that she was overall okay. The foxtaur's heart beat rapidly and he didn't think as he grabbed her and pulled her close in a tight hug, "I...told... you to be... careful." He whispered shakily.

Terrie started to gasp an apology before being crushed in Emris' grasp. "I- I- sorry- it-" She stuttered before giving up talking and just nodded, holding him in return. She rubbed her chin gingerly, blinking as her eyes watered slightly.

Pulling back just a tad the foxtaur shook his head at Terrie and forced a small smile. "Next time I'll go first that way you can at least fall on me instead of this floor." He chuckled softly and hugged her again before pulling back slowly, "You okay though, really?" He gazed at her patiently before adding. "Now don't lie...if something hurts I will find out."

Terrie bit her lip nervously. "I bumped my chin, and my elbows are sore. That's about it." She smiled slightly, her hand raising to Emris' face, gently stroking it with her fingers. "Thank you. I really am sorry. Didn't mean to fall." She blushed, feeling silly and clumsy.

Giving a tender smile, Emris gingerly reached up at touched Terrie's chin. "It's fine...I'm just glad that you're not that injured from it." His ears twitched as another thing popped into his mind, "Umm..." Emris tilted his head curiously before continuing, "Terrie...what did you mean by thank goodness?"
Emris chuckled softly, "I mean that was a stupid question right?" He blushed faintly, "I just usually after someone falls I don't hear them say thank goodness like you did."

Terrie's jaw dropped unconciously. "I- well-" Her face turned pink and she sat up. "It's just... remember I had something to tell you earlier?"
She looked warily up the stairs, where the others were. "I don't know... I should wait until we're alone. It's... kinda big." Then she lowered her eyes. He wouldn't want to wait now.

"Hey..." Emris patted Terrie's shoulder before he got back on his paws to stand. "If you say so then I can wait." He chuckled softly a bit nervous about what was going on, "I... trust you after all, Terrie." He added before holding out his hand so he could help her up.

Terrie sighed and looked down at her hands. All she was doing was making him nervous! She was making herself nervous too.
Accepting his help, she stood and suddenly grasped him in a hard hug. "Oh! To heck with it all!" She exclaimed, pulling back to see his face. "Emris, you're going to be a father."
Now that it was out, her face turned bright pink and her stomach clenched, but she kept her head up somehow.

Slipping out of Terrie's grasp to land flat on the floor, Emris looked up at Terrie. Suddenly the meaning of her words registered again in his mind and the foxtaur blinked...and then blinked some more.
Softly chuckling Emris looked down at the floor and then back up to Terrie, "You've adopted someone?" He asked innocently.

Gasping, Terrie dropped to the floor and put her hands on Emris' shoulders to steady him. Her face had a slightly pained look. He was going to faint!
"No... I'm pregnant. You're going to have flesh and blood children." Her pulse quickened. Was he going to be mad? Maybe she should have waited. "I found out about it last night." She spoke in a hushed voice, unable to manage louder.

Two words managed to calmly escape Emris's lips before he freaked and those were, "Oh okay." Then his eyes widened and he reached out to hold onto Terrie, "You're pregnant?!" He hissed more angry at himself than anything, but not because of Terrie's condition. "And...and I let you fall down those steps and work today?" He ran a hand through his hair, "We have to take you to see a healer to make sure you're okay now and we have to get things ready...and I have to protect you better."
Everything seemed to flood into a current as he kept talking quickly, "Babies...I can't believe it." He sighed and smiled at Terrie before kissing her lightly on the lips, "I'm sorry..." He whispered with a frantic look, "I should..." He grew quiet though his heart was still racing loudly, "Do...do you want to keep me as their father?" He finally asked softly looking at Terrie with a questioning gaze.
