Shin-lu smirked as she saw the fireball coming. How old. She whipped out her rapiers and began swinging them wildly around. While this seemed like she was just flailing about aimlessly, there was a method. Shin-l had fought mages and dirty assasains long ago and had to deal with situations similar to this. Her teacher invented a tactic that involved Shin-lu using her speed and the flexible rapiers to spin them rapidly, creating a vortex. The vortex would then divert the flame and surround her sword. Shin-lu was pretty much expecting Roy to pull out all the stops whenever he charged by now, so she did flinch when his tail came around, but she wasnt surprised. She quickly jumped/back flipped over the tail and then landed on her feet. She then proceeded to run after the tail and the strike out with her flame-surrounded rapiers, one at the tail, the other in the general direction of Roy's face.

(( ok here is where you're going to get a little irked. I'm leaving for a cruise tomorow and I'm not going to have access to internet for two weeks ^^;; so...yeah...heh...))

Kayla's ice arrow hit Roy right in the middle of his back as he spun around while using his fireball. The arrow couldn't penetrate his thick scale armor, however since it was an ice arrow it did numb his back and even leave some freshly formed ice on his back, other than that it did nothing. Again arrows didn't effect Roy's armor. Roy's fireball seemed to be used against him, but his opponent acted with haste in attempts to return the favor. However, a master at hand to hand combat Roy wanted this. As Shin-lu came forth to stab Roy both in his face and tail, something happened. Roy's moved his head to avoid the rapier which would make contact with his shoulder armor plate. Roy's tail would swing back to collide with her other rapier, was this an insane move! Indeed it wasn't, the tail was also covered in armor, and would collide with Shin-lu's sword as sparks flew from them meeting. Her sword strike was powerful and quick, and was able to slice into the armor a bit to draw some blood. But before she had a chance to do anything else, and since she was too busy with her attack. Roy's arms were able to be used freely.

While her swords made contact with the armor of the shoulder and tail, Roy's fist would attempt to slam into her stomach in the motion of an uppercut. This would lift her into the air. The uppercut was powerful enough to leave her stun for a bit since he used raw physical strength. While in the air, Roy would use his other arm which was holding the hammermace to take a full swing at her while she was just launched into the air. The force behind this was enough to break her in two if not shatter every bone in her back. He swung as her like a baseball player would at a speed ball just before a homerun. The mace would also, since it had spikes rip though her clothes and flesh if she had no armor. If Shin-lu was hit by the hammermace, she would be launched away from Roy before crashing landing on the ground with critical damage. Roy would release another fireball WHILE she would be on the ground, assuming she was in too much of a bad condition to defend herself. This would be incredibly dangerous for Shin-lu to take either one of these hits.

Selene stared at the mound in awe as it rose from the ground, shedding all its clumpy dirt clogs and roots. She could make out a figure with arms, legs, and a head. “Great! I HATE moving earth clods.” she mumbled to herself. The dirt mound had turned into a troll. “I believe I have asked you a question.” said the Troll, “Are you lo--Ooo.” he paused staring down at little Selene. He was eyeing her red pendant. “Why yes, if you would please point the way-”she caught herself, knowing of the dangers of trolls. Selene frowned as she realized that something had caught his attention. She looked down at her pendant, it was glowing. (That’s never happened before…) “Well, I would love to help you find a way out. I really will, but for a price.” offered the troll. Selene hesitated, trying to decide whether or not to trust him. “May I ask what that price is?” she asked politely. “Your pendant. It’s shiny. I want it.” The troll answered with his monstrously deep voice, as he stepped closer to Selene with his mud-stained hand out. Selene didn’t want to give up her pendant, after all it was her mother’s. She cringed at the sight of the troll’s smelly hand. Gently pushing it away, “I don’t believe I officially asked for your help. I am capable of getting out of this forest on my own.” she stated proudly, and turned to walk the other way. (Pyralis where are you? How am I supposed to find my way out now? )

Pryalis was flying over the tree tops. They all seemed to move in different directions, creating waves of bushy greenness, like an ocean. “Pyralis, where are you?” Pyralis blinked, as he heard the faint voice. It sounded a lot like Selene’s. He looked down, the trees seemed to have stopped. It was eerie, like something was hiding under them. He looked ahead, he had finally reached the end of the great mass of trees and could make out the town. He turned around so he could fetch Selene.

The troll scowled and trudged over to her with every step trembling the ground. He stopped in front of Selene. She stopped and listened, she could no longer hear the various cries of the animals. The forest was silent. “And I don’t believe I ‘officially’ offered you my help, so now I want your pendant. Now, give it to me!” he bellowed. Selene looked up at the troll and glared at him, “No!” she said sternly. She walked around him and continued into the forest. He stomped after her, “Give me the necklace!!!” he stormed. Selene spun around, quickly grabbing her bow and arrow, and shot. The arrow hurled itself at the troll’s shoulder, where it lodged. He glared at Selene and began charging at her. She began to run, trying to find a way out of the forest. “You are not leaving until I get that necklace!!!” the troll hollered. “Ughh!! I HATE it when people tell me what to do.” she muttered to herself. This time she pulled out her dad’s sword, and figuring she would have to fight off the troll, she turned to face him. The troll continued charging at her. She jumped and took a swipe at his arm. When she landed she swiped again at the troll’s feet. He fell over and landed on the forest floor with a huge thud. She went over to him, “You cannot have this! Oh, how I HATE when people don’t understand me.” she scowled and stormed off, putting her hood on. The troll managed to pick himself up and staggered over to her. With one swing of his arm Selene was thrown against a tree. He picked her up squeezing her in one arm and trying to grab her pendant with his pudgy fingers with the other. Selene squirmed and let out a yelp.

Pyralis heard her and swooped down into the trees. (Selene? Where are you?) Just as he thought it he found Selene being strangled by a massive forest troll. (Here I come, Selene!) Pyralis flew up to the troll’s head, inhaled deeply, and blew out an ember into the troll’s eyes. The troll cried out a sound that was awful to Pyralis’ ears, and dropped Selene. She quickly got up, somewhat frazzled, and hurled her dad’s sword into the troll’s stomach. He groaned and fell to the floor, panting heavily. Selene staggered up to the troll and, with a couple of tries, pulled out her sword. The troll grabbed her leg. “You are shameful!” he coughed. Pyralis snarled at the troll. (Let’s go, Selene.) Selene stared at the dying troll. “You hate what is unworthy of hating, therefore I CURSE you!!” he began, coughing and breathing hysterically, “Y-you will be subject t-to the desires of the ones y-you hate. Y-you will at-tract the things you d-despise, and th-th-they will follow you until you l-learn to l-love them.” he cursed her with his last dying breaths. Then he dropped his head and closed his eyes. The life in the troll was gone.

((Umm, yea...I haven't posted in awhile... XP Yay we can hear Pyralis now!!! I have more coming though. ^^))

((Since adding to the one before would make it too fat. lolz ^^))

Selene walked through the forest with Pyralis by her side. (What did that troll mean? I will be subject to the desires of the ones I hate?)(Don't worry Selene. The troll was only trying to scare you. After all he was dying.) Selene stopped, and blinked at Pyralis. He looked back at her confused. (Why the sudden stop?) "How come I can understan you?" she asked Pyralis, startled. He gave her a weird look. (Are you saying you couldn't do that before?...You think you know a person...) Selene shook her head, "No, I couldn't do that before. I just sensed it, but know I can read your thoughts?" (You can read my thoughts?!? ) Selene nodded. Pyralis gave her a sly smile. (So what am I thinking? Food! Food! Food! Food! He wagged his tail. Selene frowned, "Food. You're hungry?" (Oh, I guess you do know what I'm thinking. Peculiar...) She chuckled and looked around the trees were still calm. (How am I going to get out now?) (Oh yes, I found a way out earlier, before you were attacked. Follow me!) And Pyralis took off with Selene chasing after him into the trees.

((How's this for a make up post?? 10 named characters+))

A Day Before
The Elven Village

Although used to the pains, from her life prior, half a day with no food has left Adeva quite hungry. After the group split and she found herself alone and in discomfort for not knowing the language of the elves, she slowly reverted to the previous actions that she had lived by in her hometown. Like a scavenger, she found herself searching high and low for food. Following stairs to the wonderful scents of bread and pastries, she found herself in front of the bakery. She crept inside, out of sight of the owner of the shoppe, and reached for a loaf of bread. She held the fresh, warm, whole-wheat nourishment in her arms for a moment, questioning whether what she was doing was right or not. Yes: her conscience was killing her, insisting that she not do it; but, at the moment, the instinct to survive was greater. She tore off a small piece and with water-filled eyes, shoved it in her mouth, not wanting any of her newest friends to know of her disgrace. Admittedly, it was delicious, but riddled with guilt. Unbeknownst to Adeva, the keeper of the shoppe’s elven ears had picked up on the small sounds of her chewing and of her heavy breathing as she restrained herself from crying – soft sounds that a human shopkeep wouldn’t have noticed. However, the elf took pity upon her, assuming she had a good reason – a need – for the food she had taken, and allowed her to eat without letting on he knew of her presence.

Not long after she started eating, two people ran in through the entrance. It was two women from the arena! Shin-lu and Ilyana was it? They quickly began rummaging through the shoppe. Not wishing to be seen, Adeva crammed herself into a small gap between two shelves on the wall. Still clinging to the half eaten piece of bread, she watched the door, waiting for her moment to leave while the keeper was distracted with the two women wildly running through the store. She tensed as yet another figure came in through the door. It was none other than Par’il…

Par’il stepped into the shoppe, following after Shin-lu and Ilyana. Nervously, he scanned the room from the women to the elf behind the counter. At first, the baker had the same look Par’il did, but he quickly shook it off and tried to spot the young girl again. When he finally found her in a corner, he saw how relieved she seemed to be as she stared at Par’il. Turning to Par’il, he merely gave a soft smile and pointed to Adeva. Upon sighting her, he too gave a soft smile. No longer feeling alone, Adeva rushed out of her hiding place without alerting the two women on their shopping spree, and threw her arms around Par’il’s waist. Quickly, she tensed up again, let go of Par’il, and tried and failed to unnoticeably hide the half-eaten bread still-in-hand behind her being. Par’il smiled, leaned down closer, and rested a hand on her shoulder, “Don’t worry; it’s alright.” He then stood up and held out a few pieces of silver to the bread vender and stated, “Usstan kestal nindol zhah z'lonzic.” Not wanting to be stuck with Shin-lu’s and Ilyana’s bill, he looked back to Adeva, “What do you say we go for a walk?” Adeva wiped her moist eyes on her sleeves, smiled, and nodded in agreement. The two of them quickly left before the two women had noticed they were there.

“Vel'bolrin'ov!” Eth’netora stated coldly. It was obvious she wanted nothing to do with Anita. She crossed her arms and kept her back to Anita the whole time. “Llaar, ‘Netora, sel'tur phor,” Xar’zith commanded. Rei continued just to stare at their new guests.

As Slais’eyr turned the corner and saw the two humans using the elves’ hot springs he was immediately filled with disgust. On top of that, he couldn’t stand the presence of pure evil that is Dark’s curse. Overwhelmed, he couldn’t help the words that would pour out of his mouth. “Ugul!” Hearing a voice, Siom sat up, ready to great the stranger, “Vendui.” Dark merely tried to tune him out “Rul'selozan!” Realizing what they elf was saying, Siom tried to get him to stop before permanent damage was done… even someone who isn’t familiar in elvish could understand the gist of what is being said strictly by tone, “Nin, nindel zhah naut…” “In'loil…” Little did any of them know, “del…” Dark did indeed know some elvish, “E'trit!” and Dark couldn’t stand to hear any more of this guy! He reached for the dagger in his clothes, but pulled out his katana instead. “This’ll do.” His curse quickly started to overcome him. “I know I said no more, but you’re getting on my nerves!” “Dark! No!” Siom threw out a hand to try to stop him.

The awkwardness amongst the girls hadn’t even begun until there was a bright flash from the guys side of the springs. The five women looked over as there was a loud crack as something came crashing through the dividing fence. Winry screamed and held tighter to Anita who quickly huddled over the girl to shield her new friend from flying debris even though none that made it close would have been fatal or even injurious to the little girl. The three remaining women stared in confusion at the dark object that had just crashed into their pool – ‘Netora peering from where she was, Xarx now sitting up, and Rei now holding her sandals and standing a short ways from her previous spot at the pool having jumped backwards to dodge anything coming her way. Dark quickly stood up from the waters, gasping for air, and growling to the hole in the wall where Slais’eyr could be seen with his hand extended and a small amount of smoke rising from his wide-open hand. Siom had nearly fully submerged himself into the waters on the guys side to… ahem… cover his dignity. Winry looked over Anita’s shoulder, “Lil zhah natha wiu wun lil suul del lil ligrr!” As Anita peered over her shoulder in curiosity, Winry grabbed the nearest thing she could find: a small decoration pebble. She chucked it at Dark, “Zexen'uma pholor dosst suul!” The rock hit Dark in the head. He slowly tilted his face to merely see them out of his mask. “Dark?” Anita questioned. It was obvious by his unresponsiveness that he wasn’t there; it was just pure rage. Still beaming at Winry, a shadowy mist began to climb from the waters around him. While he was distracted, the three elven women sprung into action. ‘Netora jumped into the air and shouted, “Anar naur!” As she was falling, a fireball formed and smashed into Dark, the force again sinking him into the spring. “Khelek!” Xarx stated firmly with a snap of her fingers. The boiling waters instantly became a Darkcicle. Rei slammed her hands to the ground and, in the dullest of voices, stated, “Olva coia.” Fresh, green plants shot up from under the girls’ spring and tossed the ice-covered Dark over the walls into town. As if they had done this hundreds of times before, the three girls instantly changed into their clothes and leaped over the high fences of the springs in a single bound.

Anita was awestruck. She slowly approached the hole in the wall to figure out what caused all this. Slais’eyr stood there, waiting for her, “Ninta yorn zhah zhennu zhah ol naut?” She didn’t fully hear him, “Vel'bol?” He continued, “Udossta tekartas zhah izil ulu tlu xuil rivven p'wal ol oltan zhah natha akh morfel phor del uss dal endar fuma del darthien.” Anita was now confused, ’Why is he musing over the girls?’ “Mm nau. Vel'bol sha'nalt?” As if not hearing her, he went on, “Nind ichl zhahen ichl yibin ulu tlu natha aglust del ninta k'lar.” “Gu'e!” “Dos gumash doera nindel gareth ichl…” “Zu'tour phor!” Anita interrupted him with a slap across the face. She then blushed, realizing what he just said. ‘…Is he hitting on me?’ She turned back to the girls’ locker room without looking back or making eye contact with Slais’eyr. “Winry, ori'gato udossa alu.” and the two girls disappeared into the doorway. Now with the girls gone, Siom finally climbed out of the water, snatching his clothes and towel in the process. Before he left he heard Slais’eyr state, “Fridj zhaun, dos inbal naut keffal lil vaen del ussa,” but he wasn’t sure who he was talking to.

Par’il and Adeva were walking along one of the bridges for a while. They hadn’t realized several of the other contestants had already left. There was a flash in the sky. Par’il looked up to see a white rock falling from the sky. He wrapped his arm around Adeva and softly shouted, ”Looke out!” The cold stone crashed through the bridge they were on. Par’il and Adeva slid down the broken and falling bridge as several other elves jumped off to safety. Par’il and Adeva landed hard on the ground with the strange object shattering into thousands of tiny, sparkling pieces that quickly melted and evaporated. Par’il shifted and quickly got to his feet and tried to help up Adeva. In the center of where the mass was, somewhat looked like Dark. ”Is he okay!?” Recognizing what is going on, Adeva stopped Par’il before he could get too close, ”No! just wait, please!”

The figure rose from the ground like an undead from some horror film. Slowly, it scanned the crowd and with a devilish grin, showed the katana. Suddenly, vines grew around the shadow, holding it in place and only showing its face. Ice quickly formed around the creature’s lower body, firmly planting it in place. Three girls fell from high above. The yellow elf had her hand outstretched and anyone could tell she was ready to kill. Before anyone could move, to try to prevent this tragedy, a voice was heard over all the action, ”Wait! Stop! Siom was parting his way in the crowd. “Xun naut elgg ukta! Fridj zotreth ukta xuil ssussun.” He slowed down now near and tried to catch his breath. “Usstan zhaun vel'bol ulu xun! Usstan uil naut natha kre'j a nindol!” She stated harshly. “Kalina!” A thin yet bright stream of light shot straight out into Dark’s face. The haze cleared. Dark was normal. The vines and ice cleared, revealing Dark was unconscious… and still only in his underwear. Anita finally showed up, seeing the aftermath, she turned to Winry, “Winry, alu delmah. Xal udos thalra 'sohna.” Siom caught Dark as he fell back. He looked to the nearest inn owner and pleaded,“Qualla ori'gato udossa zexen'uma whol lil isto. Doer kre'tan, udos orn tlu doeb del dosst lauske.” The innkeeper scowled, but nodded in agreement. Each contestant slowly obtained their own rooms where they quickly fell asleep.

Come next morning, Siom woke all the remaining contestants and they left in a group before sunrise. By Daybreak, they reached the arena lounge and no one was there. Siom began to worry that they left several people at the elven village. Suddenly, Roy’s voice could be heard echoing across the grounds, “Stop playing games!” “They’re at the Arena!” Siom exclaimed, as if it weren’t obvious enough. “I think I am going to go watch this one, Siom.” stated Par’il with that, he headed to the arena. Par’il had been watching unseen by the fighters. He was caught off guard when a rock smashed into the wall a few sections under him. ’Glad I’m not down there…’ He continued to be impressed by the two teams and how they confronted and adapted to their opponents strengths and weaknesses.

Translations:
Par’il: “I hope this is enough.”
Erth’netora: “Whatever!”
Xar’zith: “Seriously, ‘Netora, lighten up.”
Slais’eyr: “Lowly!”
Siom: “Hello.”
Slais’eyr: “Disgusting”
Siom: “Now that’s not…”
Slais’eyr: “Piece… of… Filth!”
Winry: “There is a boy on the girls’ side!”
Winry: “Stay on your own side!”
Erth’netora: “Solar Flare!”
Xar’zith: “Freeze!”
Rei: ”Vine Sprout.”
Slais’eyr: “Their power is phenomenal is it not?”
Anita: “ What?”
Slais’eyr: “Our society is able to mingle with humans because it itself is a mass made up of individuals from different families of elves.”
Anita: “Um, no. What happened?”
Slais’eyr: “ They too were considered misfits, unworthy, or too weak to be a part of their previous villages.”
Anita: “Hey!”
Slais’eyr: “You could become that powerful too...”
Anita: “Shut up!”
Anita: “Winry, let’s go.”
Slais’eyr: ”Just know, you have not seen the last of me.”
Siom:“Don’t kill him! Just inflict him with light.”
Erth’netora: “I know what to do! I’m not a novice at this!”
Erth’netora: “Beam!”
Anita: “Winry, go straight home. May we meet again.”
Siom: “Please let us stay for the night. Come morning, we will be out of your hair.”

Selene was tired by the time she reached the elven settlement. It was clearly a bigger forest than she thought, and she really didn't know how far she wandered into it until it was time to depart form it. "Did you have to fly all the way?" she complained to Pyralis. (No, but it was fun watching you run.) He smirked. Selene scowled at him. (Then you can get your own food tonight.) Pyralis frowned, disgusted. (Fine, I see how it is.) Selene decided to pass the town up, instead wanting to go to get back to her room to clean herself up. Pyralis flew off to search for a meal. Selene was a lady of her word. When she said something she meant it, especially if it was a promise. After she lavished herself she decided to make a visit to the arena, it was a place she did not spend much time at since she left for the forest, and wanted to see the type of people were there.
