Alice noticed Maddie's frown. "Are you nervous? Me too. This could screw up in so many different ways. The actual escape may not be clean and the guards might catch us and we could get a power overload if we're struck by lightning and if the facility blows up, we could too and --" she stopped when she realized she was probably making things worse.

"Okay." Alice grabbed Maddie's arm and ran up to one of the guards. She touched his arm and he immediately stiffened and fell to the ground. "Woah. I'm sorry if I stopped your heartbeat." She looked around and saw a few nearby guards staring at her, wide-eyed. "Your turn, Maddie."
