Once finished putting his shoes on he embrassed Amaya in a short hug before rushing to the door
"Thanks again Amaya"

Amaya was a little surprised by the hug, no matter how short it was but returned it regardless. "No problem, see ya Cody."
Once he was gone, she turned and got back to work. There were a lot of pants here that needed adjusting and the sooner she got it done the more comfortable the little boy would be.

[Task Complete]
Three days after Cody had stopped by her duplex, Amaya was finally finished altering all the pants he had left with her. She went through them all once more before finally deeming them alright. Her large hands picked them all up gently and put them into a bag.
She then quietly made her way over to the little boy's duplex and after making sure they would be protected from the elements, left them by his doorstep. Afterall, the iguana wasn't sure if he was around, of if he was sleeping. Better to just leave them there and have him find them.
With one last smile she left his doorstep and headed back to her own duplex.

New RP
Ambrose was up early the next day as well, his enthusiasm pushing him back into old habits - rising with the sun, spending a good few hours doing his morning routine (which now was admittedly stretched even longer with maintenance on his fur), and grabbing breakfast in the cafeteria.
It felt good to have a purpose for the day. On the island, where a week could be gone seemingly as quickly as a blink, and you realize that you've done absolutely nothing productive. Or worse, the boredom as you're sitting somewhere, be it a beach stragiht out of a tropical island brocure or in the virgin jungle that most people would never see in their lives... and have absolutely nothing to do or desire to go swimming or play in the sand or whatever else most vacationers would do because you've done it all before. Surprisingly, with so little to do, things that Ambrose had needed to do often got left by the wayside - particularly checking up on close friends.
He had long been feeling pangs of guilt for how long it had been since he had seen his scaley little sister. It had made him feel good to see her happy at the soccer match, but spending time with her in a group was certainly not the same as quality time. And then he heard from Aubrey... she had changed again, no, she had changed for the final time, and Ambrose hadn't even known. How long had it been? A day? A month?? He felt ashamed. He was worried for her, but at the same time he also was selfishly worried for himself. How ... 'bad' was it..? How much of the cute, black-haired, green eyed and pert-nosed little girl was left? More importantly... how much of the sweet-natured, optimistic and encouraging Amaya that made Ambrose's heart swell and flared a protective older brother instinct in him remained in whatever form she now was trapped in..?
He probably hesitated at the door for a few moments, not even realizing that he had arrived. He knew that in a way, he was facing his own all-too-imminent future. But this was much more than that, he reminded himself, lifting his fist to knock on the door. It was his little sister, and above all she might need him, whether she knew it or not.
He rapped, now more confidently, on the door.

It was rare that Amaya left her duplex, and even rarer for her to get visitors. So when there was a knock on the door she literally jumped and snapped out of the task at hand... which was simply cleaning her bathroom out of pure boredum.
She looked this way and that before grabbing the large white t-shirt, the only thing she owned that fit her now. Normally she walked around naked, thinking it a lot more comfortable since the neck of the shirt was a little tight and did nothing to hide most of her anyway.
And it wasn't like she had boobs anymore.
The green iguana sauntered over towards the door, standing on her toes to peek out the small hole. Ambrose? Oh god. Oh god. She went back down on the flats of her feet, her head bobbing. Her large hands wrapped around her long snout as she thought of what to do. Act like she wasn't home?
No. No. This was AMBROSE. He... He wouldn't say anything... would he. N-No. He wouldn't.
With a great deal of hesitance her large hand reached for the knob and unlocked it, before creeping it open. But she stepped aside to hide behind the door.
"H-Hi Ambrose..."

Ambrose's ears lowered sympathetically, the concern reflecting throughout his posture. "Amaya...? Hey, kiddo... how have you been..? I'm sorry I haven't come to visit sooner." He glanced at the bit of scales visable through the crack of the door. Of course she was self-conscious... even he usually was very much so after a change.
"I... heard that you... changed again. I'm so sorry I wasn't here for you. I'm ashamed to ask, but how long ago was it..?"
But she was answering the door, she could speak! Those were all good signs! No matter what she might look like, she was still herself. Some of Ambrose's fears melted, concern taking its place. "May I come in..?"

"I've been okay, I guess." Lonely and bored, but okay. "And... I think two weeks. I dunno." She admitted, having not been keeping track.
Amaya stepped aside, pulling the door open with her. The inside of her duplex was hot and humid, a perfect environment for an iguana. Though her eyes were looking down, almost all of her new features could be seen now... along with the fact that she couldn't wear pants.
Her long tail curled around behind her and along the carpet, as long as she was tall. The green eyes she had managed to hold onto for so long were gone, replaced with an alien brown and yellow that now positioned themselves on either side of her head.

Ambrose knew not to stare. He knew how it felt, and yet he couldn't help but at least look. It was... pretty badthorough. A small shiver quickly passed down his back. Her face was completely reptilian. Hell, her build was even no longer recognizable as any way 'feminine'. But... she was still standing. A glance at her hands told him that her thumbs were still opposable. And he had heard her talk.
He smiled, and closed the distance, wordlessly wrapping his arms around her in a hug. "You're still you, Amaya. That, I think, is the most important part. I know this must have been difficult to deal with. And... two weeks... I feel like a curr for not being here for you sooner."
The scales felt cool and smooth under his fingerpads. Her body thicker, harder. Her scent more reptilian, and yet, closing his eyes, he could still disentangle some of the unique 'Amaya-ness" to her.

The girl moved her long snout of of the way so he could hug her, positioning it on his shoulder. Her eyes scrunched shut and she didn't move away, but her body started to quiver. Her almost nonexistant shoulders shook as she sniffed silently, tears never leaving her eyes now that she had lost the ability to cry.
How could someone cry without tears?
She haden't cried and broken down in front of Alec. Or even much when she was alone. But it had been two weeks since her final change and no one had given her the physical comfort she so desperately needed. So she finally fell apart.
Amaya's arms wrapped around him and her snout moved to the side, dry and near silent sobs leaving her mouth.

Ambrose held her tightly, subconsciously whining softly as sobs wracked her frame. He ran his hand down her back, careful not to put too much pressure on the fleshy spines.
He didn't know what to say, but his heart went out to her, and he held her, slowly guiding her to the bed so that she could sit beside him.
He held her, just letting how he felt pass through his lips wihout trying to stop to analyze: 'I'll be here for you. You're still the little sister I met those many months ago...'
With a small smile, he gave a quick lick on her cheek, something telling him that it was the right thing to do.

She sat in a crouch next to him on the bed, unable to sit properly anymore. Her long tail slid with her, some of it on the bed and the rest cascading down the side and onto the floor. Amaya sniffed and sobbed, wiping her eyes on pure reflex.
Her reptilian face knit into a deep frown, strange eyes looking down. She haden't even thought to ask him who had told him she changed again. "T-They're gonna k-kill me noooow." The lizard sobbed quietly, refering to the labs. Afterall, they had never done anything good for her. Why would they keep her alive when she was finished? "O-Or take me away and sss-sstrap me on a t-table and do experiments on meee."
For someone who knew the lab technicians personally, they would think her assumptions to probably be a little far-fetched. But to her, who knew them as nothing but the people who had adopted her, lied to her, done nothing for her, and turned her into some alien who looked nothing like she had before, it was reasonable.

Ambrose looked to her, startled. "What?? Killed you? What are you talking about? Why would they... kill you..?" His conviction slackened near the end. They... they did finish the experiment.. what did they normally do with labrats afer the fact? But no - they wouldn't. At the very least Aubrey wouldn't. They were still people!
"No... no that's impossible. I mean.... they just built a bunch of more duplexes... not that that is a good thing per se, but they wouldn't kill us!" He clapped her shoulder a couple of times, trying to infect her with a contagious smile.
"Besides... you say it's been two weeks! wouldn't... they have done something by now if that were the case?"

The teen flickered her tongue, sniffling. He had a point, but... still! They wouldn't just let the finished product sit around without doing tests or something, would they? "I-I guesss ssso..." She scrunched her eyes and wiped at her nose.
"But w-what will they do with me n-now?" Either they took her into the labs and poked and prodded her, or left her alone to live the rest of her life like a giant lizard without any hope of living a normal life. Neither looked very promising to her.

Ambrose shook his head, hesitantly. "I.... well.... I just always imagined that we'd... just live out the rest of our days here. You know... watch us after that?" He shrugged with a frown. Was there more to it after the changes were done? Hadn't he asked that? Or... had he just assumed....
"But... if they DID kill us after all of this... wouldn't that just incite the others to try something drastic? I mean... if the others knew that they were goign through all this only to be killed, they'd revolt - risk their lives to stop things as they'd have nothing to lose."
"At least here... like this, we're around people who understand. It certainly is a different life. And not necessarily a better life.... but it's a life."

Amaya continued to sniff, sobbing every now and then. This wasn't a life. It was a nightmare. "I don't like it here... I wanna go home." She sobbed again, for the first time in awhile wanting to go back even though there was no one waiting for her. "I don't want this stupid life." Her hands went over her eyes and her tail flickered.
