"I'm fine. I just needed to catch my breath. You, however, are not. Don't waste any strength by moving. I'm going to try and make your injury feel better." She crushed some herbs and walked back over to Valzar. She began singing the healing chant and sent herself outside of her body, healing Valzar's wounds from the inside out.

Callista moved back into her own body. "I was healing you. I'm not very good yet, but I've got lots of time to learn."

"So you've told me," he said resting his head on the ground, still exhausted but at least his neck wasn't hurting as much as before. "Callista - thank you..."

Callista blushed. "You're welcome." She smiled and put her hand on his forehead. "You're going to need lots of water. I'll go and get you some." She made her way down to a lower chamber in the cave and came back with a bucket of cool water. She sat it down next to him and put a dipper in it. "There. you go." She sat down, giving him plenty of space. "Do you have any questions that I can answer right now? There's a little bit of time left before I have to sleep."

Callista nodded. "It's very similar. She can get to you because you have a blood bond. For some reason I could talk to you without one. I don't know why. It's never happened to me before."

Callista hesitated. "A blood bond is where someone has taken another's blood. The vampire took yours, giving you and her a bond." There was a small silence before she added, "You took mine, giving us a bond."

"It means that I can find you no matter where you are. I can speak in your head and examine your memories and thoughts unless you build the proper sheilds against me." She turned her head away from him. This couldn't be easy on him. "And if I can do it, the vampire can do it better."

Callista laid down and rested her head on her front hooves. "Yes and no. I can, but I wouldn't unless it meant the difference between your life and death. The vampire can though, and is more likely to than I."
