The advanced for the Tank was about to begin, and Anthony took the small time frame he was given, to resort supplies and men.
"Garcia!" Anthony barked. "How many men have we lost?"
"Sir, nobod-" He was cut off by a sniper round that caught Janovek in the neck, in a through and through into Morrison's leg. The PFC fell to the ********!" Anthony threw his helmet. "Get me a replacement." Anthony said. Garcia nodded and ran off to the masses of Marines.

Seth just let go of his trigger, knocking a grunt over in a spurt of blue with a solid hit from his rifle when he heard Hammer's voice over the COM: "THIS IS IT, MARINES! PUSH FOR THE LEGS!"
Seth turned his head sideways to look at the prone Bandoleer Squad, "Okay we're moving in, straight up the middle! Yale be ready to set the charges!"
Seth quickly flipped his COM to address Alexander the marskman that had been covering them up until now, "Batch take your spotter and move to our position ASAP you'll meet us at the legs, the ground from there to here should be clear, but keep an eye out."
He addressed the rest of Bandoleer, "Move Marines!" At his word he and the rest of his squad rose from the small crater they used as cover and began making a speedy advance.
They arrived as the AA turret was being swarmed by Marines. Seth moved to the Left leg of the large AA battery. At the base was a small group of Jackals and Grunts--they mulled about in shock and discord. Several flashes of BR55 muzzles and the Enemy combatants were put to rest.
Yale quickly got down on a knee and removed his large backpack, he began strapping the large pack to the AA leg, setting in wires and adding bits of clay.
There was the sound of footsteps coming from their left. Seth swung around leveling his BR at the incoming body, he was followed by Bishop and the rest of the squad, even Yale managed to pick up his side arm holding it out menacingly.
Standing there frozen were Venegas and Alexander, "...Hey Lt." Alexander said nervously, "What's shakin'?" The attempt at humor fell a little flat, but as he spoke Seth and the others lowered their weapons.
"Announce yourself when you're coming in Batch." Seth said through a groan, "Surprising a Squad is never a good idea." Seth said nothing to Venegas. The two men slowly began to file in to the defensive circle set up around Yale as he finished setting up the charges. "Barbie." Seth nodded to Venegas as he passed. The name was ironic for Venegas' character. Big and mean.
"Lt." Venegas replied with a grin spreading on his face.
Moments later Yale got up, his side arm in his right hand, "We're set." He informed the group.
Seth nodded and got on the Command channel, scanning the semi-enclosed area with his eyes, he could hear the rumble of the tank in the distance and a few scattered but isolated gunshots. No plasma. "This is Black Bear, Bandoleer is set and ready to rock and roll."

"Copy that Lieutenant. We're rolling out now." Anthony replied.
"Alright boys, everyone who's comin, get on the tank, we're going for a ride."
He reached down, snagged Janovek's tags and looked at Morrison. "Stay here son, Call for MEDVAC."
Anthony hefted his rifle and himself up onto the tank, and the thunderous monster gave the announcement of its moving with a roar from its engine.
As the tank passed the masses of bodies, Karr couldn't help but wonder what he could have done diffrently. The past Lieutenant's voice rang in his ears as he began sifting through his plans and adapted them to now, and what the next battle might be like.
"Ok, everyone off. We neet to do some tag collection." he announced, and hopped off the tank. Just before its massive cannon struck home into the long neck of the AA gun. The marines got to work; Anthony, fell backwards into the sand, rear first. He propped himself up with his hands as he looked up into the dwindling blue sky. The clouds moved past the Earth, as if they were seperated from what was happening.
Twenty-One Minor, Twenty-One Minor, this is Location Beta-Oh'-One. What is your status 301st? Over."
He quickly replied. "Twenty-One Major, Twenty-One Major. This is Bravo One-One-Six, 301st, Company Green, Shore party has taken Omaha, repeat, Omaha is ours. Detail cleanup initiated. AA gun is still in effect, demolition is now underway. Orders?"
"Roger that. Elimanate AA gun. Top Priority. We have Pelican's inbound and enroute to your position for extraction and MEDVAC. Beta-Oh'-One out."
Karr keyed his COM to the Lieutenant. "Sir, HQ just called. They want that AA gun destroyed yesterday." Another blast from the tank rocked the ground beneath him. "They didn't specify when.... Oh, and status report... Th-The rear is all clear sir..." His voice was shakey and exausted. "Um, I have my men doing... Tag checks... but thats about it sir... Look, if its ok... I'm gonna take a nap... Karr out."
Anthony fell asleep in the sand.
10 minutes later, Garcia came back with a Private to his side. His shadow casted itself over the CWO. "Sir?"
Anthony grunted in protest.
"Sir, I have someone." He said, nudging the CWO. "Whats his name?!" Anthony said, cracking an eye open.
((Deathgod... Post. Its your turn!))

5 minutes previous...
Ashton ran through the ranks with the rest of Creedance, and as he dodged ths way and that through the bodies, smoke, and craters, a blinking red icon appeared in his HUD, a little icon that hovered over a prone body in the battlefield: PFC MORRISON :: WIA Ashton gave a quick glance to his Assistant medic, call-sign "Condom", and waved him over.
The two of them ran up to the man as he lay there on the ground, his leg shot through with a massive hole the size of a quarter, clean through.
"Condom, get me the--" FF-NK! FF-NK! FF-NK! Spiker rounds from the failing Brutes, who were still ferocious even in defeat, flew at them. Dansmith's left forearm took a Spike, and he screamed in pain. He looked down to see his broken arm, speared with the Spike, and realized that he could not feel his left hand. Ashton! No, Ashton, your arm!
He took the momentary reprieve from the pain, which he knew would not last long, and ordered Condom to patch up Morrison. "Start with the Coagulant patches!" He hollared as he sifted through his own bag to find a patch that he could stop his own bleeding with.
"Uh, yeah, sure. No.. no Problem, Sarge! uh, oh boy... Which one's the Coagulant patch?!" the Corporal called, he had strewn out everything from the Med-bag onto the ground, and was sifting through it like mad. Ashton didn't have time for this!!
"Figure it out!" He yelled back, then found a secluded spot to take care of his own arm with...
--
As the rest of Creedance pressed on, it took Dansmith only two minutes to do what had to be done: a grueling ordeal that involved large pliers, a daimond-tipped buzz-saw, and three full doses of anisthetics. Finally, he had his arm Expando-Foam splinted and immobile, and he could manage to use his left hand a bit: nothing finesse, but it would have to do.

Matts leg burned like hell, he never felt pain like this before. It worried him that the medic couldnt find the right patch for his leg. The PFC picked up on of the things and read on it "COAGULANT PATCHES". "Um Corparal, i think your looking for these," Morrison said to him.

Bullets, spikes, and plasma assaulted the New Mombassa air raining death upon the battle's inhabitants. Michael felt the heat of a plasma pistol past him and dove down behind cover as the team opened fire. It was almost over, and if everything went accordingly the charges were about to go off. As he hit the ground he hit his head.
Michael looked up and brought his MA5B to bear. Down sight lay a ruin of death; blood and gore streaked against the walls. The blue translucent slime that was an elite disturbed him. Behind him he heard his men's breathing become harsh and staggered. Even the warm breath that escaped his lips turned misty. So far the mission had gone without a hitch, and Charlie Squad hadn't met any resistance.
"Sir, looks like they were..." the private in his squad paused in disbelief at the sight. He spoke with disbelief "...like they were eaten." The demolitions specialist, Rauclin grunted in disgust and kept moving down the metallic corridor. It was dark, and even the iridescent blue lights that lined the floor couldn't provide any comfort.
The occasional sounds of movement passed through the hallway, like little rats running from danger. Sometimes the sound of rushing water would pass them by as they scouted through the labyrinth that was the underground of Theta Halo. "Sarge!" called out a seemingly surprised private who pointed into the darkness ahead. A terrible scream that would stick with Hammer forever penetrated the helmets they wore, and out of the darkness lunged a being not Human or Covenant. It's arm like whips tore through Rauclin as he tried to open fire upon it. Blood flew upon Michael as he side stepped the creature.
The Commander stood up and charged forward away from the AA gun like all the other soldiers as the charges went off. The AA gun fell to the dirt, exploding and becoming useless. He spoke into his COM, "this is Cloverfield, Creedance is requesting evac to Foxhole two!" "Roger that, Cloverfield. Foxtrot-811 in bound on your position." The Pelican flew over the tops of the mountains in the distance, only a spec but it's promise of peace drew closer as it grew bigger.
The minute Michael was within missile range of the Titan he shut down the thrusters and cruised. He hit the Pelicans controls for a moment and then stuck his BR55 in the wheel of the Pelican, keeping it in place. He moved back to where the Marines were. "Alright soldiers, perk your little whiny baby asses up and act like men!" he yelled.
Almost all of the Marines kept their heads down until he yelled again. "The next time one of you see a creature like those, even if it looks like the man or women sitting next to you" said Michael leaning against the wall, "Shoot their brains out and then shoot them again." He looked around at the Marines and saw that they were doing the same.
That one simple fact was all they needed now. Perfect. But he continued with his small speech anyways, "If any of you ever cower during this war, I will kill you before anything else does. Do you understand that Marines?!" By this point all the Marines were looking up at him, except for two in the back of the Pelican.
Their eyes were fixed on his and for that moment he new that they would be with him even when the time came to sacrifice everything. And with their cries he was able to smile for the first time since he was in training. "SIR YES, SIR!"
Out of the corner of his eye he saw one of the marines convulsing. He quickly reached for his pistol tucked inside his waistband and moved over to the Marine. "Sir, Kaz won't stop shaking!" said the Marine sitting next to the virtually dead one.
Michael put the gun to the convulsing marines skull but at that moment it lashed out surprising him. He dropped the gun and backed off for a moment. It was lashing out still but now at it's fellow Marines. Michael quickly brought himself forward planting his foot into the ex-marines skull, crushing it to a pulp.
"That was what I was talking about" he said and then moved back to the pilot seat of the Pelican. The marine sitting next to the corpse was screaming at the top of his lungs about how Michael was a heartless a*****e and how he could've spared his best friends life. Michael hopped in the seat and took his BR55 out of the wheel, continuing to make his way back to the Titan. "Shut up back there before I drop you back off at that ********' ring!"
Michael sighed heavily knowing that it was only a part of the mission finished, that the true operation was eliminating the Covenant threat on Earth. Who knew how long it would take to kill them all, but he was grateful for the news of the Elites joining the U.N.S.C. in the fight against them. Inside the c**k pit Michael looked up to the sky as U.N.S.C. frigates began to assault the 'ark' in a last ditch effort in halting the Covenant advance. He watched the 'ark' begin to charge it's enormous amount of energy and looked on without emotion. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes, wishing only to be left in peace if the world was to end.

((Alright, so, we doing tag checks right?)) "Sir, YES, Sir!" Ti answered and walked away towards Doyle. He was distracted by the amount of men and the large tank. He inspected all he could before running into Doyle. "'Eh, I see you you're new here. Well you ain't new to guns right?" Doyle asked. "Hell no, I've known guns since I was a F***ing Embryo. I think, so what 'ya need help with?"

The voice of the former Leutenant ran in his ears. He wouldn't forget the vision he had that day,
Anthony stood up. We walked over to Doyle and the new recruit he dubbed 'Bud.' He stood over the 2 as they gathered tags and weapons.
"Ok boys, you guys did enough grave detail. Why dont you guys go over by the tank for a breather. Its actually a nice day out." He said, and nodded as he walked over to where his TEAMCOM read the Commander was.
Commander Hammer was one of the most bad-assed marines Anthony had layed eyes upon. He had met him once before after the battle and Fall of Belfast, one of the UNSC's last remaning strongholds. It now lay in space, glassed half to hell, with a crator in the middle of it from the massive explosion of VerCruse, the arms manucaturing plant and MAC platform generator of the Planet.
Being curious, Anthony desided to check on this Lieutenant Brennan. Even if he was in the Black Ops, he still would have been on data file when he was KIA.
When Anthony came across his name, it was oddly enough MIA. Why his status was Missing in Action insted of Killed in Action, Anthony would never know. The code to change it was locked by HAMMER, MICHAEL RICHARD : COMMANDER. I guess the Commander didn't want anyone changing his friends file.
Cycling through this Lieutenant's past was like looking at a Government Cabnet with a bunch of top-secret stamps. All of his missions were top secret, and he couldn't get a glimpse at any of them. But Anthony was able to catch some notes of all his rank accomplishments. All of them were given to the Lieutenant by a Captain Benjamin D. Resnick of the Armengald. Anthony quickly remembered that the Armengald was the ship accompanying the Titan. The thing was beat to hell... Anthony heard it made a final ditch effort to help the other ships escape.
Anthony grabbed his Lieutenant rank achivement file, and opened it.

Michael Brennan has earned this rank for the stedfast dedication to the colonies and of Earth. He show's great courage during any battle, and due to the new Covenant Threat, he is needed in Higher positions. With his new transfer into the Black Operations, I give him this as my parting gift. I wish you good luck in the years to come Mike. Godspeed to you my friend.

Anthony now understood the Lieutenant's position. And why he told him the things that he did. But now, it was time to deliver the message of the dead... Anthonyt braced for the worse.
He approched the Commander. "Um, Commander sir." He saluted. "Permission to speak to you in private sir. Its some what urgent sir."

"Thank you sir" Ti said and walked away. The sight of dead bodies had reminded him of the day his family was killed and the horror of seeing them shot down without any way to help them. It was just pure horror to him, pure horror. "Eh Bud you ok?" Doyle asked as Ti snapped out of his nightmare or in this case, daymare. "Yeah just thinking about something... "

Michael looked to his right at the Sergeant, looking up and down the man's body. He had been through a tough battle, and the Commander knew it; he was an excellent soldier, and he would commend him for that but at the moment, the Covenant had his attention. "Yes, Sarge?"
