meganargetlam Marie blinked. "Yeah..." She looked at her plate. "I work for him, he's really nice." She took a bite of cake, and looked at James. "I've worked for him about two years." She swung her legs, and looked at the dish he was making. "I spend most of my time in the library though." She smiled, and reached over the counter to take a piece of beef off the plate he was preparing. He smiled at her. "Wait for dinner Marie." He said, and put the plate out of reach. "Dinner is three hours away." Nova watched the two, smiling at their playfullness. They seemed like a family. "Is he a vampire?" she asked, unable to stop her curiosity. If he was a city master, he was bound to be a vampire, but she wanted conformation.

'Marie, Lila.' Edward called for their attention, not that they really had a choice in the matter. 'Demetria and I are going out. We may not be back for a few days at most.' Edward informed his servants. Though he didn't go into detail about where or why they were going, there was no need to make them worry. Edward just kept following, almost rolling his eyes when Alice stopped to turn and look at him with all the black robed figures standing around. 'I swear, my city has been over run.' Edward thought, almost shaking his head.

'What?' Marie sat down, eyebrows furrowed together in concentration. 'Where? Why?' She looked at Nova. "Woops, sorry, Edward just told me something. Do you mean James? No he isn't, he's just a cook." She smiled warmly, and ate some more beef. He gently knocked her hand aside, wagging his finger.
"No Marie. Wait."
Marie pouted, and opened her mouth to tease and whine, but decided against it. "But Edward is."

(( Ugh! Gaia is being so uber slow right now! D; ))
'You forgot Who and How, my dear.' Edward teased, but got back to the point, 'Personal business, nothing to worry over.' Edward said, though he knew she's probably keep bugging him about it or something.
'Personal business my a**, you never go anywhere with Demetria for as long as you say you might be away for.' Lila, he know, definably would keep bugging him about it.
'. . . Lila, do snake's even have asses?' Edward asked, though he probably didn't want to know. All the while he kept right up following Alice, Demetria still in hand, though her grip was a bit tight. He glanced back at her only to find her looking down. Edward turned back to looking where Alice was going, but gave a slight squeeze to Demetria's hand, hoping she'd perk up or something.

Alice and the robed men walked down the street. The men seemed to care more about Alice than anything else, and despite there aperant order to protect her they seemed terrified of her. Alice streched, she was aperently tired, and the vampire men around her flinched rushing to get away from her as if she was trying to kill them. Alice obviously did not take offence to this and continued as normal.

Demetria couldn't help but smile when Edward squeezed her hand. What was she thinking? She had no reason to worry. Edward was an incredibly powerful vampire, not to mention, she had a few tricks of her own. She noticed how the men ahead acted around the woman, a good thing to know in the future. NOw that she thought of it, she didn't even know the womans name. She looked up to Edward, almost as if she expected him to ask, she didn't want to speak out of place.

Edward stared ahead, at Alice, thinking the whole thing with the other vampires that surrounded her was very, to put it simply, stupid. If they were afraid of being killed by her, why try and protect her when she could probably do a better job of it herself? Whatever, she could do what she wanted. Edward still had some questions though. Why her? What the hell was her name? Why didn't he already know her name by now? And, Why didn't she introduce herself in the first place? So many questions that he couldn't ask, but wanted too anyways. He hated awkward silences, dammit!

When they reached the town gates the city gaurds gave them odd looks as the exited. Alice looked up to the sky and smiled happily under her veil. She walked ahead of the group and spun happily, Alice had always loved the road. It was the only place she was truly free. When all of this was over she would ask Murakai to travel with her around the continent.

Edward nodded to the guards with a smile, which reminded him that the guards up by the castle where probably still unconscious, laying at his front gate. That must be a wonderful sight for any of the townsfolk that were going in and out of there. 'They're probably going to freak, glad I wont be around for it. . .' Edward thought, though that was kind of mean. Edward liked his leadership position, but sometimes things just got to be to much. He glanced up at Alice, she seemed to be spinning and having a good time, good for her, then he looked back at Demetria. She was staring at him, Edward blinked, "What?" He asked, if she had something to say she should just say it!

Demetria jumped slightly at Lord Edwards voice. He was being put through quite situation, and she wasn't helping, that was for sure. "I-I'm sorry, Lord Edward." she said diverting her eyes to the nearest rock, "I was just thinking. Who is this woman? I know that she is a vampire like yourself, but what is her name? I know she works for the other Master Vampire, but why was she sent to retrieve us? Did he think you wouldn't come through on your word? Did his intentions change? Maybe this is turning into a power struggle. Why did you bring me? You know I am likely to get in the way. I am only human after all. Now I am flooding you with questions. Why do I do that? Ah! I am sorry, I didn't mean to." she bit her lip. Wow, she had gone off with the questions. Why was she so nervous? She couldn't figure it out. She watched the girl twirl. "What the hell..." she muttered.

Edward just kind of stayed quiet through her little talking spree, at least she wasn't keeping it in. Edward smiled and threw an arm around her shoulder to have her walk up next to him. "I brought you because you wanted to come, and I don't know her," Edward gestured to Alice and her spinning, "name, but we could certainly ask if need be. You shouldn't worry about anything other then that, I worry about them enough for us both." He told her, still walking along. Alice seemed to be just a regular girl on the road, and she was never going to live that spinning down if Edward lived through this whole thing.

Alice stoped spinning and faced Edward and Demetria. She smiled brightly and reacehd up to remove her veil. The vampires looked on in curiosity, they had never seen her without the veil and in truth they didnt know if they wanted to. As she remved the veil one of the younger vampire men stumbled in surprise, Alice was blindingly beautiful. She smiled and giggled silently. For a battle hardened vampire she was acting like a school girl.

Demetria couldn't help but smile now. She could always count on Lord Edward to cheer her up, even if it wasn't intentional. "Fine," she said with a playful pout, "but you can worry so much. You're no fun when you worry." she couldn't help smiling and she was rather amused about the vamipress. when she did raise her veil Demetria had a hard time holding back her laugh from the reaction of the guards.

Edward gave her a blank look, was there a point to that? He didn't think so, but it was probably better to ask. Oh, and get her name while he was at it, just so Demetria would stop with that question. Demetria's laughing was nice to hear though. "I hope you're having fun, but I'm afraid your fun just might cause us to be later then expected. . .And might I get your name? Having something by which to call you would help in the way of conversation." He said. Was it rude at ask a name like that? Edward didn't think so, but what Alice saw as rude might be different by what he did.
