"Prejudice against mages?" Aaron repeated, frowning as he followed the others into the cave. "Just so you know, Varnis, I'm a mage too!"

Mel shook her head. "Varnis is a mage as well. I doubt he has predjuce against mages," she said disdainingly as she followed her brother into the cave.

"Varnis isn't a mage," Artica retorted, heaping her own distain on the reply. "He's a healer."

Mel stopped suddenly a few feet into the cave. She turned around slowly. "Hearlers are White Mages. White Mages are indeed mages," Mel said coldly, glaring at Artica.

Lexenos heard his sister's fridgid tones from the entrance of the cave. "Uh oh. Mel's getting mad. From the sound of it, somebody's saying that white mages aren't mages."

Artica gave an exaspirated sigh. "There are fighters, there are archers. There are mages, there are healers. There is a clear-cut difference between them."

Varnsi had sighed as her heard the argument going on behind him, and decided to end it. "Mages cast magic, and healers cast magic. So, hence forth, healers are a form of a mage." He said hoping that it would end the argument.

"OH! But of course the guy that can't stand Mages is a Mage himself! The irony just simmers," Artica hissed the last part.

"No... It is that I don't like mages that use bladed weapons." He simply replied. "There are laws that prohibit mages that use bladed weapons." He said as he continued deeper into the cave, and relighting his staff.

"You are the one that said he was prejudiced against mages, not him." Mel was starting to get really annoyed with Artica.

Lexenos ran up to his sister and wrapped his arms around her, restraining her. He wispered into her ear, "Sis, listen, don't get mad. Please just calm down." He wraped his arms around her tighter, this time to embrace her and comfort her, because he knew she would start crying any minute.

Mel crossed her arms and turned around to bury her head in Lex's chest, trying not to make it too obvious that she was trying not to cry.

"Laws," Artica echoed. She just wouldn't let the matter die. "Okay, so there are laws against Mages carrying weapons, but not laws against fighters and archers carrying weapons?"

"Well, mages know magic, and fighters don't. If fighters didn't carry a weapon then how would they attack?" He asked, trying to get her to drop the subject.
The groups had finally entered the cave, and the king had sighed. "Finally they went. Now we can get on with out plan..." He said to his guards, as they moved towards the entrance to the cave.

Silence followed this answer for a moment, before Artica finally said: "I'm not following the thought process. What is the difference between the Mage having the knife and the Fighter having the knife? They're both human. They both have the ability to do harm."
