Binatica Most people don't seperate their perceptions from their character's perceptions, and what they read they will try and work with regardless of whether their character has learned it yet. I don't mention hidden things about my character at all. Q: WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME YOU CAN/HAVE _____ HIDDEN? A: If I did, can you honestly say that all of your actions would've remained the same?

I don't understand why you and Reiko don't get along better. I suppose it'd help if I could keep track of who's who. I don't know who Reiko is and any unfamiliar names I see are simply branded in my eyes as helpless and arrogant newbies until someone tells me different.

You know your principles are screwed up because entering a tournament (unless you are here to save a little girl) is in fact.. an act of agression. Because you are looking for a fight. You're just disguising it by trying to hold on to the "I only attack when attacked" clause.

Monseiru X i don't care that people know my char can do something. it doesn't mean they'll be able to stop me from doing it, is the thing. That isn't the point though Wulf. If you let people know about hidden stuff they will plan their whole strategy around it OOC. Even changing completely in the middle even though their character hasn't discovered it yet. As illustrated in Golmex's example.

*sigh* And I suppose that different styles of 'karate' cooperating in a tournament, even when some of them basically require being attacked in order to respond appropriately, isn't the same thing?

So...Reiko, your against people pre-planning against you... but yet your willing to stoop low enough to pre-plan against other people and use OOC knowledge-- because as long as you don't get caught, it's okay.

No see.. what you are implying is that you will stare at your opponent for the entire fight if he does absolutely nothing like you do. Some guy once said "you have to attack first cause my character uses aikido and blahblahbalbhalh" If you want to use some kind of reversal or counter so badly.. then use a safe attack to get them to respond and open themselves up. Just cause your style relies on counters and reversals doesn't mean you can't be an agressor. And since you're using reversal and counters or whatever.. why don't you just take the full grapple approach?

Exactly =). If by against it.. you mean.. I don't want it to happen. Then yeah. But if you tell me something OOC before my fight with you.. I will certainly not allow my character to be an idiot. If you don't want me to use it against you.. don't tell me about it. I realize the person could make up all kinds of powers.. but I really couldn't care less. I'm not going to police their character.. just like I don't want them to police mine.
