So Zephyr set the child down for the moment. "Oh!" Elruda suddenly pointed up. "Look! Jii-chan, look!" "Hm, the fireworks...?" Zephyr answered, his expression confused, as he paid for and took the cotton candy as well as a small package of rock candy. "But chiisai-hime you saw them before..." Konoha's Sakura Festival. Elruda frowned and began tugging at his hand. "No, not the fireworks! Look there!" Following the child's line of pointing, Zephyr found himself gazing... "...Aurora Borealis...?"

It was truly an astounding sight: a splendid arc glowing a mystic forest green and the background, painted in hues of pale orchid and sapphire, dotted with silvery stars. "You're right, it's splendid..." The usually wild Senju murmured serenely in agreement, green-gold eyes alighted by emerald fire as he gazed skywards at the spectacle.

Chisaki watched the commotion pass by and listened to Gig's response. "It does hurt. . . Somehow though, I think you're right. I think it was something I'd rather not want to know. As far as a way to perceive it, that could have been very well. I'm no longer the same person I was from what I know. Before I entered the academy I awoke not being able to remember the previous thirteen years. I spent a few months here and then disappeared. Another two years of my life were forgotten in that time. Or at least I think it was two years. Even before those two years I didn't know my exact age." Chisaki said as she halted talking. Looking at the setting sky avoiding the fireworks she responded to Gig's next question. "Sure." She said smiling faintly. Her blurry flashback had disturbed her previous sense of happiness. She couldn't think straight because of it. Her mind had focused on questions and the replica of herself in the flashback. It could have been because it was blurry but she didn't think that was the case. Pulling her mind back into reality Chisaki focused on Gig and the other's awaiting some form of a response from Giglamesh's question.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in the village, the usual "bored Nara face" quickly escaped Shikamori. Herapidly began feeling very guilty for leaving Yokou at the hospital... This was the time of Iwa's Winter Festival already? Oh, how quickly a year had flown by! It seemed like just yesterday, the Sakura Festival of over a year and half ago... When the crimson Aurora Australis would grace the night sky over Konoha, alighting the pale petals of the blooming Sakura with living fire...

Yet, here they were, in another village...and the sky tonight is also alight with fire...a different kind of aurora, a different kind of spectacle to their own...but a breathtaking spectacle nonetheless. "Hey. Look, there's the Aurora Borealis...there behind all the fireworks and spreading till over there, with just the night sky..." Said Shikamori to the child next to him, pointing out the undisturbed spectacle further into the night.. "Doesn't it look almost surreal...?" The Nara closed his eyes. "Like an illusion...or that maybe we're all in one great Genjutsu..." A pause. "That a year had so quickly flown by."

A year...one whole year, with all the pain and regrets it had brought... Yet still, it was a year of their life...a year with trials, with triumps, with disappointments...a year with sadness and joy...a year, that no matter what, that they could all be proud in...simply for living...

Nikolai began, systematically, kneeling and greeting each person. He knew all their names, picking up on them form the conversations. He greeted the women first. "Takamichi, Haruko-sama. It has been a long time, I pray fate still smiles upon you. Gogandantes-Shimazu, Keiko-senpai. I hope you are doing well. Taida, Chisaki-sama. I am very sorry for your loss. But it is a happy time, I am sure it will be seen through soon enough." He gave a soft smile, bowing to Maiyuri on Giglamesh's shoulders, "And Gogandantes-Shimazu, Maiyuri. you're getting so big! Wow! Pretty soon you're going to be carrying your daddy around, aren't you?"

His smile widened slightly, before he knelt before the Hokage, proceeding down the line, giving a polite comment or greeting to each person in line. To the chuunin, he addressed them as 'senpai,' to everyone else, he said nothing less than 'sama.' His bearing never broke once, and he knelt to everyone except for Maiyuri (whom he bowed to,) pressing his fists to the ground and averting his eyes. Down the ranks he went, until he had finished, standing again, the large, razor-sharp black-and-purple scythe strapped to his back glinting in the light. He was still smiling, and he never made eye contact, preferring to keep his eyes down-turned as opposed tolooking at anyone.

Keiko moved back from Gig not wanting to fall on the cold ground, "Old habit, leave it be Gig." She looked around and gave a smiled, in confusion of all that was going on. Gig was on the ground, there was someone that knew her and her family but she didn't know anything about them, and the one that popped up out of nowhere that was apparently on Gig's genin team. Everything was confusing, and cold.

Keiko nodded to the idea of dinner. She kept her eye on the new comer, she wasn't ever fond of him quite yet.

PostPosted: Tue Dec 23, 2008 9:12 pm

Something crawled nervously under Nikolai's skin as he bore the weight of Keiko's gaze. He seemed as if he were two feet shorter, even as he stood at his full height. He was a warrior and a servant. However, he was a servant primarily, and he reflected the part. While he stood strong and proud, he looked... Hollow. He was capable of destroying a man without a second thought, true. But he was peace-loving at heart, and trained to know that everyone else was more important than him. These traits made him practically sink inside himself, rendering him as little more than a waiter at a restaurant. The one that does his job so well that he just blends into the background.

Nikolai unconsciously took a step back, as he had been trained to do. He looked at his palm, tilting his head to the side, something slithering under his skin. Out of the middle of his palm, a purple rose with a black stem sprouted, blooming as it grew. With another soft smile, he grabbed the stem with his thumb and forefinger, breaking the thorned stem near his palm with his pinky finger. It had an enticing scent, very hard to describe, but he just looked at it, smiling, as if pleased that something like this had been created by a destroyer. he tried to ignore the fact that the very plant that created this was, itself, a destroyer.

((gig slide a few inches but didnt fall he is still standing))

Giglamesh would look to her in confusion to why she moved away, he would grab her waist again and move her in close to his side again. The giglamesh would then look back to ryoko and to keiko. "....its ryoko.....roy's mother, she uses henge to be able to act like a child......she is annoying." Giglamesh would playfully poke ryoko with his left elbow as if he was joking, but he basicly wassetn...she really was a pest to him. Be he didnt want to worry about her so he would basically just not pay attention to her, But it was time for food. Giglamesh would put the casket back on his back smashing ryoko if she woudlnt remove her self and then he would begin to head towards some stalls for food.

First place he would arrive at he would look to mai to she if she liked the smell, but she shook her head hard. "Stinky..." Giglamesh would get a sweat bead and keep walking. Then giglamesh saw nikolai creating a flower with his odd plant host limit, was the flower for keiko. Let hope not giglamesh wassent so happy about that idea and the wind would begin to twist and blow around him blades of wind would strike around him on the ground and even one of the stands would split in half. Giglamesh wassent to obviously happy about nikolai making a rose suggestively towards keiko. If he was to continue than obviously giglamesh would take actually action instead of just threatening, he wouldn't mind fighting him, but at this point he would show him hostility. Giglamesh would pull keiko close and continue to walk looking for a stand to get somethin to eat. Then as always mai would want gig to stop at a ramen stand she smelled the smell of seafood. Giglameah already knew that would be what she was going to have. He would sti and order the largest bowl of seafood ramen they had, not just for him but for mai as well. now they would wait giglamesh avoiding giving nikolai a glare so fierce it would rip threw him.

Keiko glared at Giglamesh, "Do you really think I'm that stupid? Of course I know that's her! How many years have we known her?" She rolled her eyes, and pulled away from Giglamesh. Keiko picked up the bag and walked behind the two, and she let out a sigh. Who was this Nikolai? It was starting to bug her, she knew everyone in the village, yet she had never hear or even seen this person. But at the same time, she felt like she knew this person. It was confusing and annoying at the same time, "Come on, lets go get some food." Keiko said to Nikolai as she past him.

Warm air rushed over Keiko's face as she walked into the ramen stand, she put in a order for small special of the day. As she got her food she placed three coins into the chief's hands and smile. "Happy holidays." He gave Keiko a smile and then she turned to Gig, "Let it be Giglamesh. He's new or something. Give him a break."

Giglamesh wanted to go threw threw his casket and remove the vanilla folder containing his shinobi profile, but he decided against it since the food had came. Giglamesh would take mai sitting her on his lap so she was closer to the counter and he would take some chopsticks and grab a bite for mai and hold it up for her and she would lean in ready to take a bite. "nooo...what do we do when its hot?" Maio would look up at him, think for a second and then turn her head back and blow on it, giglamesh would pat her head with his left right hand that was held behind her in case she fell. "Thats my girl.......babe he introduced each of us individually formally....he is obviously informed upon the shinobi profile of this village including those of the refugee's as well....im not so certian he is new perhaps more evasive do to his nature?" e was talking to kei but it was almsot like he was talking to nikolai as well, it was odd, but nikolai would proably be able to sense the hostility in his voice towards him, but only he should of been able to sense it.

Sakeme looked up at the quiet man when he finally spoke, turning in the direction of those who worked the fireworks. "It is quite interesting..." An illusion? Genjutsu? Those words struck a chord inside her as she looked back up at him curiously. "Are you a genjutsu specialist?" Could he teach me a few things? She waited in anticipation. Perhaps he could help her learn the four genjutsu she'd read about, or perhaps he could teach her others... Such was a lovely thought. "Would you mind teaching me something sometime...?" Her voice was quiet and slightly curious... if not genjutsu, surely he could teach other things.

Taking the cotton candy and the small package of rock candy, Zephyr turned around. "Elruda-chiisai-hime, let's..." The child wasn't there. "...go...?" The Senju king stared. Where did she go!? Yokou is going to slaughter him...

Fortunately for Zephyr, Elruda was only a distance back, outside that ramen stand; the little Hyuuga princess staring curiously at Nikolai with large, dragon-pearl coloured eyes. "Nature-based manipulation." She said softly. An unreadable smile formed over her lips...but it wasn't that of a child's or Elruda's usual wide grins. "Like jii-chan's." Zephyr came over, and took the child's hand, before with his other, gently pressed a cone with a large puffy glob of cotton candy on top. "Chiisai-hime, do you want your cotton candy or not...?"

Nikolai's greeting had bothered him... Piercing green-gold eyes, alight with emerald fire from the light cast by the aurora distantly overhead, calmly met amethyst. How did this person know? Even though he have been named Hokage-elect for about a week now, most of his troope found it more favourable to use his name, as the Sannin had preferred. Also simply put, he didn't like the aura of this person... He may be no Inuzuka but...

He had shed more than enough blood to recognize the faintest scent of it lingering in the air, something was feeding on this person... Different memories, from the years of his Sannin travels, tugged at his mind. During his travels far and wide around the world, he had met many different people...watched with great interest the indigenous limits of the other villages...and had encountered a rather strange nature-based manipulation clan.

Takani. His mind helpfully offered. So this person was from the Takani clan...? What was Elruda doing, comparing the similarity of their kekkai genkais? They couldn't be anymore dissimilar... No...that wasn't quite true...for the Senju clan too...they offer their very life source as a growing point for their Mokouton. Yet...in this case, it was closer to the Aburame...in the essence of hosting parasites in their bodies until achieving a sort of symbiotic equilibrium.

"Let's go, chiisai-hime." His voice was cold but then became warm, with a smile at the child. "We passed a stand that was teaching about how to make ginger-bread houses. Let's go make an exploding one!" With that said, the Senju king swept up the child into his arms, Elruda munching on the top of the cotton candy with a contented expression, and as the child waved goodbye to Nikolai (probably since she's a child and friendly with everyone... xP), Zephyr too gave a respectful nod, as it was customarily suitted for the Kages greeting others.

"Yeah. Haha, I wouldn't really say specialist though." A pause. "Well...how to put it... The nature of my techniques make me lean heavily towards that field." A thoughtful silence. "I can offer you Genjutsu guidance, but as for actual techniques..." Onyx eyes met the child's. "You wouldn't have enough capability to perform the ones I know. See, they're customarily taught to the Genjutsu field Jounin." Oh. So he meant A-ranked techniques, or even more heavily demanding ones.

Oh...she remembers. The hospital, at the door...

And it took all of her will and self-discipline not to collapse again.

Her face flushed crimson, and a defensive: "W-what...what are you doing?" Impressive. Only one stammar. The Hyuuga queen was...flustered? Holding her neck as if seared from the contact, yet neither her aura nor expression was hostile. But she was shaking. She looked away, her expression unreadable.

O Kuruizaki-hime (Madly Blooming Princess)... Unwelcome memories flickered to life. Konoha's Helen, as they had called her. Suitors willing to kill each other for her hand, while the Hyuuga princess just watched...coldly expressionless with her father... As if he would've ever allowed her to marry common blood anyways. Museifu's downward spiral to insanity...the uncrossable fissure between Hyuuga and Uchiha branding a curse, assuring the Uchiha prodigy's mental decline... Even Shikamori who had vied for her attentions and long afterwards, still did not marry. Akane...

She shouldn't...she can't... Whatever happens, she must not fall in love again. For she was the very cause of countless disasters... Like that woman of legend who brought calamity to Troy...

"Yes, yes, but it's not like we aren't well known around here." Keiko took a pair of chopsticks and broke them open, "Besides, maybe that was his way of introducing himself." Keiko looked over to Gig she gave him the look. The look that said, don't screw this up, it's family time, "Drop it, it's Christmas time, I don't want to make enemies over Christmas. I doubt that you would want Mai to remember this Christmas as the year daddy made enemies." She stirred her ramen and took a bite. She knew she was right, and Gig would just have to accept that fact.

Chisaki glared at the random stranger who had seemingly come out of nowhere. Ignoring even the slight bit of his presence she tagged along with Giglamesh and Keiko to the food stands. She wasn't hungry much but she found it best to order something. Like Keiko she ordered he holiday special. Placing seven coins on the counter she smiled. She didn't know anything about this Nikolai or how he knew any of them whatsoever. Listening to Giglamesh ponder she nodded. She was quiet as if not wanting to interrupt anything that happened. Her head was throbbing from the commotion, between the fireworks, Nikolai, and the Aurora Borealis that she had seen. The cold aura that surrounded them was unsettling. Somehow though even though the aura was cold she felt a strange warmth that triggered her previous flashback. Instead it was clear as day. "Chiharu! Where are you going?!" Her former self asked as she chased after her. "Come on! Aren't you hungry?" The other seemingly asked stopping at the food stand. "Mom's going to complain!" Chisaki said as she snapped out of the flashback. Her theory had been correct. Her memory of when she was two was false. It had never happened. The reason for the scar was unexplained. Speaking of which, why had it disappeared? All she knew was that she did have an identical. What had ever happened to her twin was still in the air.

"Yes, ma'am." Nikolai followed, as he was bidden. When he entered, he slipped his shoes off, taking his scythe and securing it safely before leaving it resting against the wall beside his shoes. He ordered separately, a vegetarian dish, paying the waiter from a hidden pouch underneath his shirt.

All the while, he remained polite and kept his soft smile, brushing aside Gig's hostility, pulling his fingers down the black stem of his rose, de-thorning it, and handing it to a nearby little girl who had been eyeing it since he walked in. A vine crawled under Nikolai's skin at all the curious eyes, but he showed no signs of it bothering him. As he ate, the hundreds of vines writhing under his skin seemed to calm down. Nikolai deliberately forced himself not to look at any meat, which forced his eyes upwards, out of their normal, ground-dwelling position.

The fierce violet color of his eyes gave a sharp, attentive feeling that echoed through the air. He was not getting back off to a good start here. He sighed contentedly. Nature worked in mysterious ways, but he trusted Her decisions implicitly. He had not a single weapon on his person, and refused to bring them into a building with him. He looked outside, happily just watching the skyline. He wasn't going to speak until he was spoken to, and could wait for years, if he needed to. He thought on two lifespans, one was almost human, with a similar time table. The other was an ancient, timeless demon, who measured its years in the number of massive wars that scarred the earth. It was to this patience that he now subscribed, quietly eating --never wasting any of the food, not on table or lip-- awaiting that moment, whatever it may be.
