Finaly!!!A spot for floutests and piccolos!!!!!!! Thank you!!!I'm the only piccolo at my school and we hade our first concert on the 15th. I got the solo part with the high school and all but felt like I was blowing it.My band director was smiling afterwards. And my alto-sax playing boyfriend was smiling at me too. I just got the piccolo at the begining of the summer and I've been playing the flute for 2-3 years.
I think I'll name my flute Amanda because my aunt plays the flute and she bought me my flute.
and first flute is a b***h. She is a=mean to me gonk what did I do to piss her off?and most of us stick up for each other when one's getting picked on by FOOTBALL players.

*patpat* It's okay, Band-Geek1101, some flutes can be a pain. There's one glute dude who won't stop talking to me during practice. stressed
Is piccolo fun? I've heard it's a little harder than flute, and that they break easier and faster than flutes. Fact or crap? question

Fact or crap? question lol. that sounds better than the first flute I've got at the school. and what you've heard is crap.unless you're talking what it's made of. cause different types of metal used have different effects on the piccolo. but it is a little harder than the flute. I still am working on getting high notes like F/G above the bar. To me the piccolo is fun but I like my flute alot too!!!

I've never thought of naming my flute, but I think I'll name it Kangen, meaning Music. I think it's a bad pun, but a pretty name. I play in the Concert and Marching Bands this year, so It's been a struggle, but the Band room's become my second home. I love it and completely understand wanting to be in there all the time. I feel akward though, because all the other flutes look at me like I'm even crazier because I love being in the band room. Enough of my ranting though, I just felt it necessary to get my say in this forum.

Fact or crap? question Yeah...we have some people in the back who talk a lot...I don't even know why they're in band!!
I used to not like piccolos because they were airy, but once you get used to them they're fun! Especially high c! lol...I don't know about the breaking, though...

Of course, I probably should get a more...advanced?...flute... sad
heart Aber ich liebe meine Fraulein! heart lol

i play flute n im in a wind ensemble which is AWESOME! because we were at the winter concert and he told us he wuld announce the people moving up into wind ensemble i, unfortunately, was eighth chair blech stare and so between the two songs we were playing he had told us before this that he was only moving like six people and he goes to announce the flutes first and goes "we will be moving three flutes up" and seventh chair said itll be the first 3 chairs and i was like DUH! so our band teacher says the first chairs name, then the third chairs name, and i was last chair!
