A small metal sphere bounced over the top of the metal box and landed near them. To make it worse, the mana fluctuations around them from the machinery were making it hard to utilize their magic.

Jacob stared at the fish as he walked, "What kind of fish is that?" he wondered aloud.

The fish spat at Joe again.

Paul kicked the sphere with all his might away like he might a grenade. He then pocketed his iPod and focused on using Athena, popping up and taking a few shots whenever shots presented themselves. He made sure not to shoot when he couldn't hit anything.

The sphere bounced into the corner and shattered. Within about 15 feet, all the mana in the area simply vanished.

((Feedback grenade?))
"Oh man," Paul muttered. "Marco, we gotta get out of here!" He continued putting down suppressing fire, but intensified it so that another sphere hopefully couldn't come to them.

Another feedback grenade was blasted back out of the air. It was thrown again, detonating in the air just out of range of them.
((It won't hurt you but it'll strip enchantments and sap your mana. It'll basically make it very hard for you to escape.))

((Ah, okay.))
"Okay, no good, Marco!" Paul told him. "We have to move, and now. It'll be easier to have a choke point. Darius should be clear of the underground now, we've just got to move!" Paul checked to see if there was anywhere they could go, even perhaps charge the enemy and make them fire on themselves.

If the Grand Armors were to open fire, they'd tear apart their own men as well, but the wisdom of fighting the Clockwork Knights up close, where their magic would be disrupted, was questionable at best.

Hmm...
Paul popped up, took careful aim, and planted another phase round between the Grand Armor pilot's eyes. Well, more like in his right one, but meh.

The phase round deflected off a metal plate. The bullet, stripped of its magical properties by the REF, was laughably weak.

Joe kicked the surface of the water and turned away, continuing upstream.
Marco frantically tried to blast a door open.

Joe froze in place, shivering in rage. He slowly turned around and looked at the fish thing. "What do you want?" he asked, verbally and telepathically.

The fish stared at him some more with its BEADY FISH EYES OF DOOM.
Okay, it wasn't that ominous. But it was a bit ominous.
