Abolisher chuckled darkly. "Oh no...that's not how this is going to work. You see....I am in a rather bad mood. And this lovely little creature is very...very close to death if I so choose."

His eyes began to glow, and Alex's burns began to glow as well. She screamed and began to writhe in his grip.

"Power down, or I'll make her into one of us."

Abolisher was forced back with each blow. He managed to bring his arms up to try and block some of them, but the hero was attacking with such ferocity that he couldn't keep up.


Alex's screaming became worse.
Abolisher's attack was designed to make one's injuries worse until they were completely consumed. Because he was now focused on Lucas, the spell was free to let her burns sink deeper into her skin.

She rolled and writhed on the ground, screaming in agony. Usually she could use her powers to heal and push back burn injuries. But this....there was nothing she could do for it.


A moment later, something tiny began floating through the sky. Something tiny and....black.

Abolisher grinned and staggered to his feet. "Are you now? After that little attack, I almost think it would be more fun to LET her die and see how you fare with HER attacking you."

Abolisher grinned wickedly and strolled towards Paragon. Taking in this small, but oh, so satisfying moment of triumph....the woman's screams of agony...the rage radiating off the man....

Oh yes....he'd need a little re-charge for his ring.


Once he was in front of Paragon, he stared at him for a moment with that sadistic grin. The next moment he clamped his hand around the man's mouth. His eyes flashed with a red light, and Alex's burns stopped glowing. The burning sensation then began to flow from Abolisher's hand and down Luke's throat. He didn't want the boy using that call of his.

"Oh...I haven't even started to play yet..." Abolisher purred. The former god of destruction lifted him off the ground by the throat, then slammed him down into the pavement with enough force to shatter the ground under him. He then pulled out a blade from his belt and plunged it into the young heroes throat.




Alex groaned and twitched on the street, trying hard to try and heal her burns. She heard Luke scream and tried to turn her head around to find him. As her vision cleared up, she found the Black Lantern kneeling over him. Slashing and ripping at whatever he could.

Abolisher smiled widely, listening to Luke sing as he ripped the young hero open. When he was satisfied with is gruesome little piece of art, he took the knife out of Lucas's throat and moved his other hand up and into the hero's chest. He gently gave his heart a squeeze, then just held it and let it beat in his hand. He grinned and leaned in close so that he could be heard.

"Now then...let's just see how quickly you heal. I'd love to do the back, but if you take too long, I'll just go back to your little friend..." he purred, then squeezed the heart again. "Or I could kill you....what do you think you'll do to her when you're dead?"


A second later, something bright orange flashed in front of him. Claws sank through the arm that was clasped around Luke's heart, and severed it from Abolisher's body. The next moment, claws sank into the beings neck and yanked him back.

Abolisher had managed to wretch Alex off of him, and was just about to rip her head off with his remaining hand. Alex screamed and tore at his arm.

Then, quite suddenly, his whole body became limp.

Alex latched onto him and began ripping and tearing the corpse to shreds, unaware that he was dead once again. She had forced herself to work up the energy to get onto her feet. The energy to attack him and forget about the pain. With all that energy she worked up, she was in full attack mode.

And Alex did. After what the thing did to her, she wanted to try and exact that much pain on him as well. Not that he could feel it....and not that her "shredding" was anything compared to his last death of a million pieces.

Once there wasn't much left to tear up, she collapsed onto the ground. Breathing heavily and trembling.
