Luke grunted, and looked around. "I can see where the 'Goth' part of 'Gotham' comes from... this places feels kind of gloomy and depressing. I don't like it..."

Alex glanced around. "Yeah...kind of is. New York is a lot better. As far as being "livelier" goes."

Luke, spontaneously deciding to act weird, suddenly grabbed Alex and hugged her.
"Hold me! Don't let me go, it's scary here!" he said in a mock-whiny voice.

Alex gasped as he suddenly jerked her into his arms, then gave him a flat look before grinning and pushing him off of her. "Very funny. We were strolling around Hell and you think this place is bad?"

"Why yes. Yes I do," Luke said with a grin. Then he stopped, sniffing the air. Something didn't smell right...

"That them?" someone asked from the alley behind Luke and Alex.
"Looks like 'em." someone else said.
Alex froze for a beat, then turned around. She smelled gas and decay, and it hadn't been there a moment ago. Something just wasn't right.
A man...zombie....something walked out of the alley with a large, cocky grin on his face. There was something strapped to his wrists and back, and was what Alex assumed was the cause of the gas smell.
The other man that was with him stepped out as well. He wore a full body costume that was slashed and bloodied. He had large gauntlets on his wrists, and was aiming them at Paragon.
"Let's just git' this over with..." Shocker growled.

Luke's jaw dropped. "Shocker...?" he said aloud. Then he noticed the Black Lantern Rings.
"This is gonna suck..." he said.

"That's right." the creature said, taking aim at Lucas. His gauntlets hummed, and a visual blast of vibrations was sent in the young heroes direction.

"Holy sh--!!" Luke managed to say, before he was sent flying by the vibrations and went through a wall. A normal human would have either suffered severe injuries or would have died, but Lucas just coughed and stood up.
"Ow..." he said, cricking his neck.

"Well, this is going to take more than just a moment." Shocker remarked, taking aim again and charging up for another blast.
Alex growled and surrounded herself with fire, about to blast the creature with it. Unfortunately, and to her complete surprise, the fire that she created took the form of two large figures and grabbed her. Because she was no longer controling the fire, it burned her.
Pyro laughed as she screamed out in pain. "Nice. I won't even need to use my toys on you."

Amidst Alex's screams, Luke said something, but it couldn't be heard. It wasn't until a mystical lightning bolt came down and struck him that it would be realized what had happened... and he flew toward Pyro, punching the undead mutant through the stomach, and then decapitating him with another blow. That done, he turned toward Shocker, rage in his eyes.
"You're next!" he growled.

The moment Pyro lost control of the fire, the flames died out. Alex crumpled to the ground in pain, her clothes still burning.
Shocker's eyes widened as he stared at the "new" Paragon. He aimed one hand at Alex, and the other at Paragon, then blasted.

Luke, using the Speed of Mercury, was in the path of of the attack sent toward Alex within a fraction of a second. The attack hit him, but he didn't even flinch, and then a second later he was on top of Shocker's position; he ripped the former Spider-Man rogue in half with the Strength of Hercules.

Shocker was ripped in half like tissue paper. Needless to say he was no longer a threat. The deep chuckle that came from Alex's location, however, seemed rather grim.
Abolisher was standing where Alex had fallen. His hand around her throat and holding her against him. "Not bad...."

Luke turned toward Abolisher, his face deathly serious. "Let her go, or I end you," he said to Khorne, not realizing who he was.
