"I was afraid you'd only step in the opposite direction from me and slip on it instead. Then you'd have cut yourself up even more." He quirked an eyebrow at her sarcastic tone and wondered if she was possibly implying that he hadn't made himself useful before now. "Sure I can though the real powerhouse is my brother and the knowledgeable one is my sister." He let his own magic coat the place, sending out a pinging sort of signal that would trigger if any of the shards were nearby. Or he hoped it would anyway.

"I'm getting a disturbance from that way so you're probably right." Glancing ahead presented another problem that he really didn't want to deal too much with right now. It looked as though someone had broken off various pieces of the glass and littered them amongst the sand. Steps would have to be very carefully taken or it could be disastrous. Savryn wasn't going to be nice if he asked about it either. He decided to let it all go and see how she did.

"He seems to be stabling out a bit. I certainly think it helped keeping him out of the sun and moving him from that cramped cabin could only help." She was the nurse of sorts so he'd let her ice them both down if she so chose. "The girl will need it before too much longer just to keep her body stabilized. She used all her natural to help him which wasn't a bad move but not an altogether good move either."

A quick glance at the dragonling and a point with his claw ensuring the boy sat down and then he glanced back at his companion. His lips quirked slightly and he rested one paw gently on her shoulder. "Of course. You have only but to ask."

Didn't take much urging for Cyvalor to obey but Desdemona's appearance made him plop in her lap like the small dragonling he was. "I don't want Jaebelltiah to be upset or hurt. This is his fault." Pointing accusingly at the other dragon in the room.

"Former rider dragon. her rider was killed in combat...and another of the crew I had at the time took her in. the other two with us were trying to help get her out of the mentality, but recent events as you can see have prevented it. thus, she might slip here and there. Don't act so high and mighty and like you know everything when you in fact know nearly nothing on the situation. You love to talk how dumb us lowly humans are but your dragonic arrogance is just as bed if not worse."

Richards was staying out of everything. right now just taking in the shade and the water as best he could, passing things out to the others here and trying to talk one of the ones that brought it into seeing that those still shipside got some as well. after all, you needed crew. even half hte crew size they had would work, but two or three a ship would be near impossible to sail.

Desdemona patted his head lightly.

"Not his fault. It's just nature at work against him. and Bell wanted to help, that's all. But these other dragons will make them both better, don't worry. they live out here, they know how to deal with these kinds of things."

She rolled her eyes, not caring for his explination on the thing. "Third is line isn't bad though, so get to it." Waiting as he did so, feeling his own magic making everything she used constantly vibrate within her, which she twitched her ears to and gave a shudder...ugh, Inthara power indeed. Of course she had already seen what he had and had been working through it in her head...a show of power could easily earn her the passage she wanted but would no doubt disturb already cautious dragons. "Well? Go get it. I've done my share." Problem bipased. Wonderful.

A whistle brought two other silvers over, eager for thier own orders. "Watch these four," A look to Desdemona and Cyvalor with that one, "And get those two something to eat as well. You will not leave those posts until we come back. "Then I do ask that of you." Standing then, giving a flutter of wings. "Come along then...we said we'd help and we best do so as quick as possible." Thusly turning and a wave of hand that had magic in it made a click go off as if a lock had been undone. Reaching down to the floor in the corner, she pulled up a door and started down the stairs. "Make sure to lock it behind you."

"A rider dragon is a rider dragon...look how she acts with you, and you encourage it." He didn't call it slipping, it was reinforcing by action and he didn't like it at all. Snorting at the rebutal thrown his way. "An eye for an eye is what you humans say. We only give back what we get from you."

Was she honestly telling him to fetch...? Apparently so. Cutting his eyes at her though she couldn't see it, he slowly picked his way through the sharp shards, sending out a few more pings of magic just to keep his bearings. She was right; the smallest building and the very last on the left held a bit of a tunnel in which he located the glittering shard. It wasn't even held up in a place of honor or anything...almost like it had been dropped and the one who'd lost it was unaware. Making his way back out, he gave her a grin. "Hold out your hand and ask nicely."

"And my compliance is yours." He gave a stern look to Cyvalor then followed along behind her, doing the same actions to lock the trapdoor back up once they were both inside. Entering into a small underground series of chambers, he knew better than to just begin grabbing though they both knew what was needed. She was running this show and she'd bite his head off if he so much as touched anything without her permission. "What do you think of the Rider? Laerethe claim she is but has been away long enough to have very little remnants."

He nodded to that then glanced up and frowned. "Once she's better, do you think she'll let Kaznec touch her nipples?"

"Don't lump me in with them. I haven't hunted a dragon, or even really done much more then cause trouble for city dragon guards."

having an argument with a dragon. how quaint.

"Not to mention, Des is a member of my crew. So I'm not unkind to dragons."

Oh good lord. She could just strangle her sister right now for this kind of behavior and learning.

"I can't answer that. I don't know what Bell wants. but I'd venture that if she could, she would. but Kanzec...he's not really very...smart in that area. he thinks to much, and doesn't feel enough."

Saved her some trouble, that was for sure. Hey if she could do work without doing any work, all the better. Thusly she waited as he moved off to do his own thing and hopefully he wouldn't die on the way back...she would have to go fetch his body and what not and that wasn't something seh'd look forward too. Assassins didn't make good meat puppets, they lost all their wonderful qualities in death. Ears twitched once more at his voice and she scoffed at his request. Rather than ask nicely like a little girl though, she merely took the posturing of a suductress and barely grinned at him. "Please can I have my little shard?"

"I don't care how long she's been away...I should let her die. It was never in the deal with the Laerethe to cure her of anything or help her to survive." It would be no guilt on her mind if the white dragoness died...she thought she's perfer it than know a silver was rider twisted. Moving around the area, she opened a chest and pulled out a a few things as well as a clear bottle.

Setting a mortor and pestal down, she uncorked a dark bottle, pouring a slightly thick slimy yet still runny liquid into the glass bottle. Was going to have to make quite a large batch this time. "Ten from each of us should be enough, just in case." From a bag, she pulled out a bluish crystaline substance and a handful of that was thrown into the bottle and was mixed up as well. A look to him. "You're going to have to change some..." Setting things down and her hand moving to her own upper arm, rubbing over scales.

"You're still treating her like nothing but a pet. You don't have to be a Rider to do that but by doing that you make it worse." Shaking his head, indeed Shaleon was young and liked to speak his mind when he probably shouldn't. Des? A look to the bronze...was that the one he was talking about being part of his crew? "I never said you were unkind."

Holding the shiny piece in a safe place inside his pocket, he watched her for a moment and had to quell the urge to laugh softly at her. She thought to get the shard by acting that way? He was momentarily stunned and then he simply shook his head. "If you're going to do that, make sure you are ready to pay the toll." But reaching into his pocket, he pulled out the shard and laid it gently in her palm. "Here you are."

He watched her move around getting the needed ingredients and sighed. "I'm not anymore happy about it than you but I angering the Laerethe is not a good idea either. They seem to have some sort of hold over the dragons and humans alike. He simply nodded to her and a flash of gold light before he was also pulling at his scales. Taking off the required number, he dumped them in the mortar. "The others will be ready before too much longer. We'll have to speed the process up slightly. Are you sure you won't need more?"

"But why?" Shaking his head and then pouting. "Why won't she let me? I'm better than he is. I don't think too much at all and I feel lots. Like the soft fur on the doggy. I felt that all day."

"you tone of voice and attitude says it."

Hunter leaned back abit against the tent siding.

"You have the look and sound of angry youth pointing blame at someone for something that may not be thier fault but thier 'kinds' fault. like elves have from time to time. Like Savvy. I swear that woman is just biding time like a viper laying near a watering hole."

Desdemona shrugged.

"I can give a few reasons. one, your too young for that sort of thing. two, she loves Kanzec, wether she'll admit it or not. three, she's known kanzec since they both were your age, or younger."

patting him on the head.

"Not everyplace and everyone thinks or acts like my sister and the other women you grew up with. in fact, most don't."

"I've paid the toll before, I'm not scared to." Closing her fingers around the shard in her hand, holding onto it for a moment before she went to tuck it into her jacket...and realized she still didn't have it because he snatched it. Cue frown...just great. Well now what was she going to do with it? Her free hand searched her body some for some place to tuck it on her person...and eventually she settled for loosing her boot slightly and dropping it in there.

Fellnathir sighed heavily, frowning some as she was yanking out a patch of her scaling on her arm. Yes the secrets to most potions were a mix of gold and silver scales, the magical properties born into the high level dragons something every wizard wanted. Her ten joined his sparkling pile in the mortar and then a blink at him...he was right. Their newest clutch of little silvers, and probably some young ones of his own, hadn't been dosed with the potion yet to survive the harsh place that this was. "You're right...better double it." Thus on to pulling out more scales, leaving the skin underneath raw and slightly bloody. Waiting for his others she took to grinding the scales into a fine dust and mixing them together.

It took a while to get them find enough, dragon scales being as durable as they were but soon enough she was pouring the dust into the glass bottle and that was mixed in as well till it was all a runny sparkly blue color that seemed to move on its own, even when the bottle wasn't being moved. Pulling out two more bottles, she divided it up into three parts and corked all three, setting aside two of them in a chest that she locked. "You can take one back for your little ones when you leave." Taking care to her arm for a moment and his own patch of pulled scales. "I'm not comfortable with doing this while the boy is out...he won't know how this will permanently affect him." But of course if they waited, he'd die.

A raise of an eyebrow at his speaking on another...well that woman didn't sound good either. "We all hold grudges again each other...that's the nature of things. No it's not nice to point fingers but at the same time it's not well to make things worse than they are with some."

She always managed to throw him completely off course. Not only did she match him tactic for tactic but she also did those random things that she probably didn't even know about and yet, they drove him crazy. "Yes, well. Do we have another one or are we back to just boring old exploring?"

He ripped out another batch of scales from his other arm, dropping those into the trestle as well and merely let the blood run free for a bit. It would clean up soon enough and blood washed off scales very easily. Settling on one of the many chests in the room, he watched her work and nodded. "He'll be fine, Nell. We don't have a lot of time to mess around and things are getting worse the more time we spend on other things."

That didn't make him any happier at all. "Age has nothing to do with it. I've seen plenty of ones like me with older ones, too. Besides, I bet Kaznec is older than she is by a lot." He wasn't sure what she meant by that last statement and tilted his head up at her. "All women are concerned about how they look."

"I told you there's more than one." And her compass told her that much but she frowned, tucking her compass away in her gauntlet and wiped at her face again. "I can't concentrate though to get another one right now...I'm all sticky and sandy and hot. I just want to be clean and cool first." Grumbling some...these people had to have some sort of bathing source around here right? "Where are the others? I need to abuse them into finding things so I can get back to my scheming..."

"Suppose he'll just have to be happy with what happens in the light of his life being saved." Shaking her head and then looking to him once more. "Would you handle the humans and such for me? They can lodge here, they just need a tent. And they might as well be allowed food and water and they probably want to get clean as well." A look to the bottle. "I'll give this to the dragons meanwhile."
PostPosted: Sun Aug 31, 2008 10:57 pm

"If you wouldn't wear so much fabric, you wouldn't be so sticky and hot." Shaking his head and glancing back at the ship. Ordinarily, he'd dump a barrel of water over her head to suffice but that was the only drinking water they had. "Best thing we can do is go back to the ship and settle into the shade beneath the deck. Or you could strip down some and we could try to find a source of water nearby. There has to be one somewhere."

"Lycear certainly will and you know Laricalu's feelings on it all were she alive. That should be enough." He nodded and turned to leave, climbing back up to the main floor after unlocking the trapdoor. "Shaleon. Get the humans a tent and set them up with whatever they need. Then take them to the bathhouse. Stand guard but be sure to watch for anything unusual as well. I'm going to get our wanderer's."

Yes, he knew that Savryn and Kelligrin had struck out on their own and he was going to personally fetch them. Taking to the sky with a flap of wings, he gazed about until he saw their bedraggled forms. "Two such as yourself shouldn't be out here without protection. The sands are hostile and you can die all too easily. You need water and food. Come."

"I think I would be hot and sticky anyway. This head is ungodly..." Irritation in her tone again but that was set by the wayside at the sound of wings and she took up defensive postion as the dragon decended to their place but didn't attack. "Humans die faster..." Listening to his tone. "I take it we're staying here for a while then..." Oh why was she not happy? Oh yeah, they could pin her on shard things and what not.

She followed shortly after he had left, giving a look to Desdemona and Cyvalor as they were still seated nearby with the two unconcious dragons nearby. Coming over to Kaznec with the bottle in hand she knelt down next to him, slipping a hand under his neck to tilt his head back and open his mouth. "You and the child should probably take some of this as well, Bronze." Pouring and amount of liquid down the red and black's throat, making sure he reflexively swallowed before doing the same, although reluctantly to the white Rider. She'd kill that girl the first sign of trouble thoug. Moving back to the bronze and the dragonling, she held out the bottle to them. "Granted I'll tell you now, It's going to alter your magic and bodily processing for a bit, but in the end it strengthens it all."

Shaleon nodded as he was given new orders and looked to his little host of pirates and others. A point to the sky blue. "If she can change, she needs to. Seems you're all being allowed to stay for a while." wandering off for a moment to another silver, giving an explaination and point to them before he was given the canvas and poles he would need and he wandered back to them. "Come on, get up and follow." Thusly leading them off to a clear spot in that little enclosed space of glass waves, setting up their tent for them. They'd all have to cram into it together, but that wasn't his problem. "Okay, you all stink so you need to get clean. Then we'll get you some food, water and bedding that's more suitable."
PostPosted: Sun Aug 31, 2008 11:21 pm

"survival comes before minor irritations."

taking what was offered, though she did notice the reluctance with Bell.

"she's not what she appears to be. her egg may have been tampered with, but she was never broken to the yoke. she's lived with Lycear and Kanzec in the city walls her life."

glancing down at the gold in her lap.

"This one my sister found and was raising in the brothel she works at. other then that I don't know what clan he was part of or how he ended up at the atoll my sister lives in. I asked about it to the other golds companion...he didn't offer any information though."

At least he was going to fix the obvious problems.

"I think they were trying to teach her, but I'm really unsure how far they actually got. wasn't overly paying attention, honestly."

So looking at Sky.

"Can you change to a human form, like us? or did they not get that far with you?"

Great, now they were being interrupted by a dragon. Kelligrin immediately went on the defensive but he didn't say much, just watched the dragon closely. "You can offer us these things?"

He rolled his eyes. "They do but if you are both dead in the end, what does it matter?" Obviously they were going to be difficult. He really wasn't in the mood for difficult right now. "Either follow me or stay out here and starve to death." Heading back towards that area where Shaleon had the other pirates and people and directing them towards the bathhouse.

He wasn't happy at seeing the silver messing with Jaebelltiah and nearly sprang to protect her but he was frightened. They were talking about him...and he didn't like it too much.
