Aethi looked to the ground, her face painted with shame. "I really have no excuse for you. I was out and about, training. I shouldn't have disappeared on you and I'm sorry." She looked up again to meet Ari's eyes. "I truly am sorry...Won't happen again."

Blinking in astonishment Draeken's mouth had started to drop open before he was able to snap it closed again. "I'm quite impressed, son, I've got to say! I can barely get through one of those books! Too dry for me. What else have you been up to then?"

Elergy
" Ah-huh. "

That was some 101, not that Elergy hadn't been in the line of fire before. Still, at this point he was not out to form an intimate relationship with anyone, so the pair of squabbling teens would be left alone. Elergy had tried stepping in to mediate situations or take attention off of certain individuals on one or two other occassions, those didn't turn out so well so he'd be leaving that sort of thing alone as well.

" So, you said your name was-? Oh- that girl said Axl, didn't she? H-hello again, I'm Elergy, no last name. "

Now Elergy's name was introduced, what Axl did with the information after that was up to him. The man didn't seem to be agressive or intrusive at all, nor did he carry any visible weapons on him. Elergy was perhaps a man out of place among the rest of them, for now anyways. As Axl stated, there was some battle armor in the armory, and an armory carried a lot more than just armor. Perhaps it would turn out that Elergy was skilled with a blade or something, who knew. Only time could tell from here on out.

" You must be like a magnet. Less than two minutes here and then all of this activity picks up. "

Few people of Axl's type would probably take Elergy's words badly. Not only was the man commenting on his ability to draw people to him, but he had also known his name already. That could only conflagrate the BC's 'first son's self-confidence.

"Right all all, marks, Mr. Elergy No Last Name." Axl crossed his arms, closed his eyes, grinned proudly, and lifted his chin. He was great, and people knew it, that was all that mattered. "When an indominable spirit like mine blazes across the night sky you bet people are gonna hear it!"

Axl was so caught up in his own speech that he almost didn't notice the two girls walking past him, but when he did, he knew it couldn't be good news if women were ignoring him. Hearing the shouting outside start, Axl plugged an index finger into the appropriate ear and turned his attention to the father-son duo instead. For a moment, he was distracted and disappointed by the fact that D had been apparently absent for some time, especially from a child so young. Immediately, he sought a way to evade the thoughts. "Oh great, now the kid's reading. D, you better do somethin' about that kid or those books are gonna mess up his head permanently." Axl rubbed his forearm absent-mindedly, where the little bloodsucker had bitten him.

" ......right. "

Axl's ego boosting didn't go unnoticed, he seemed so self important, actually it was a little annoying. None the less, people had started showing up again-- and promptly fighting broke out. This brought flashbacks of the two previous times activity began to stir in the Dojo, there always seemed to be conflict for one reason or another.

" Is the literature really so poor here that you'd suggest the boy stop entirely? Really? "

Elergy's tone was lowered, trying not to offend the other conversation, almost being said to himself rhetorically. Were the books really that bad? Was there nothing to learn from them, and was their content sub-par? Books, the knowledge they held, these things were rather important so Elergy was confused, though Axl could have just been joking around for all he knew. His expression would read as 'unsure' while Axl and D continued to interact. D being absent from his own children also made Elergy feel similarly to Axl, though he didn't say anything.

Devon beamed with pride at his father's compliment. He giggled a bit.

"Training with Aria mostly....I saw Momma a month ago...she wants us to visit again...I miss her too..." He said, looking a little sad.

Aria narrowed at Aethi, she was too angry to forgive her just yet.

"You're damn right you won't..." She said, voice, near a growl.

((Oops, wrong profile for D...Editing shortly.))

Aethi winced and shrunk back upon herself slightly at Ari's still heated tone. She really had nothing to say at this point, having been reprimanded quite firmly.

Dreaken was filled with more and more pride for his son by the minute. "Training already as well? I hope your sister hasn't been too hard on you? Or is it the other way around?" he said with a big grin on his face.

Hearing Axl's comment Draeken turned his gaze to the man, a dangerously dark look in his eyes. He simply glared for a moment before speaking, his voice drenched in sarcasm. "Just because you can't read doesn't mean you have to encourage others to not learn!"

Axl visibly shrunk back a bit at D's armor-piercing glare. What did he say? If Devon was reading so many books, didn't he come across at least one that said '5 year old + reading a hundred books = get a life?' He was just looking out for the poor kid.

"Uh.... Here! You take the stare-o'-shame..." Grabbing Elergy by the shoulders, Axl tugged the man in front of him to face D instead, putting him between Axl and D and 'blocking' D's stare for a moment. "You're doing me a real favor, bud. I'll make it up to ya." Axl patted Elergy firmly on the shoulder.

"Oh! No! Nonononononononono, I wasn't saying learning's bad. Learning good. Learning very good. It's just a kid learning by reading lots o' books that worries me. Instead of reading about history why not go there?........ okay, so maybe time travel isn't the best example of what I'm saying. Come on, you know what I'm getting at, right?" Axl wanted to continue, adding 'like spending time with his dad' to his list of alternatives, but Axl refrained, both because it wasn't a good idea to insult D and Axl's personal reasons for not wanting to say it.

" W-what? U-uh..... H-hello. "

Caught, much like a deer in the headlights of a car, Elergy stood ridged and steadfast in place. A human shield of sorts, what did he ever do to deserve this? Luckily Draeken's glare was not meant for him, and didn't appear to last long either. Still, it was frightfull, and yes this Axl person owed him for this. It looked like they knew eachother if anything, perhaps a studen/teacher relationship? Elergy didn't really know, he could only speculate, while still held in the grips of the man's dark glare. He was going to stop staring at him like that soon right.? Right?!
PostPosted: Fri Jan 28, 2011 11:42 pm

Draeken raised an eyebrow at the offering of a human shield. He hadn't meant any true threat in his words, but then again, Axl had always been a bit...Unique. It hardly mattered either way, though. He shrugged and raised his left hand upwards in a helpless gesture, maintaining his hold on Devon with his right. He knew what Axl was getting at even without him having to say it. "Sure, there are other things to learn and other ways to learn them, but so long as the kid is learning something and not spending all his time avoiding education I'm happy. As for anything I could teach him myself...Well...I don't know much other than fighting. Despite having been the heir to my family I really never was much of a good student when it came to learning the politics and intricacies of it all. Just to put your mind at ease though, I will encourage Devon to learn from experiences and not just books. Common sense tends to beat book smarts every time."

Looking to Elergy then, his gaze softening considerably, Draeken sighed. "I apologize for this man's antics in trying to use you as a shield from whatever 'wrath' or 'threat' Axl may have felt from me." He paused momentarily then added with a hint of sarcasm, "I really am a nice guy...For the most part."

"I'm not using him as a shield!" Axl loudly protested at D's response. "I'm... uh.... just introducing him! Meet Elergy, Elergy No Last Name. Elergy, meet Draeken Aakakaka-- Aakmabar..... Agmana....... meet D." Last names really were a formality that was unnecessary around here. One letter would be sufficient.

The threat level dropping on Axl's internal meter, he released Elergy and stepped aside for now, apparently not fearing D's laser vision anymore. "Well then I got the perfect plan for little Dev. You teach him how to fight, Aria can teach him about girls, and I'll teach him everything else he could possibly want to know! It'd be awesome." Axl struck a Superman-esque pose, with his hands on his hips, back arched a little bit, and smirking with sublime confidence that could only be possible with paint fume induced brain damage or something of similar hazard.

Draeken laughed slightly and shook his head. "Really now? And just what in the world would you teach him? If I were to allow such teaching to occur, you realize I would want to know the entire curriculum, inside and out....If such a term could even apply to whatever you would teach..." Looking to Elergy again he said, "The last name's Aakarshan, but as this buffoon here suggested, D works just fine."

" . . . "

'For the most part' huh? Why did his words have to seem so unsettling? Also, 'unique' ya you could say that. Axl seemed to be one of those high energy types. No telling what was going through his head, and of course there was the possibility of some mental disorder.

" Draeken? H-how do you do sir? "

He was poliet as one could be, thrust into such and awkward situation. Axl would be given a 'look' when he started posing. Yes, he was an odd one all right, someone would need to keep an eye on him, if only to make sure he didn't swallow his own tongue. Yeah...........

" D. Okay, that's easy enough to remember. You'll have to excuse me. I'm not entirely sure how to take all of these sudden bursts of activity. "

The activity Elergy spoke of had occured three times now since he had first arrived in the BC region. When he got there, people, lots of people and the threat of a fight. Later on again with another single letter, T. There was also another, Krono and someone named Zero was mentioned, there were others around too, but again they soon left and activity dropped. In short, Elergy just wasn't used to the sudden rises and falls of the Dojo's activity yet. In older times there would be constant energy, constant activity. This place was still a main hub, but the people for the most part had just spread out a little more than in the past, not so concentraited in one place.
