Kilik entered the Gym. "Roxanne?" he asked, looking around the Gym, "Leader Roxanne?" he took a few more steps inside. His Eevee cowered back. It was dark and very few lights were on. "Come on..." he picked up the fox and stroked it, heading to the front. "Lady Roxanne?" he sighed, looking at the exit. "Maybe we shoul--" he was cut off by the buzz of lights coming on. A young girl, not much older than him, stood before him.
"Who might you be?" she asked sweetly.
"Kilik, from Verdanturf! I'm...here to battle you..." he said, looking down at his Eevee. Roxanne smiled.
"I'm sorry...but with just an Eevee...you won't win..." she turned her back, "Come back later..." she left. Kilik growled.
"I have faith in my Eevee! Battle me! Besides," he looked at her, "You can't turn down a challenge as a Gym Leader!"

MEH! Gaia ate my post! I don't feel like re-typing it, so I'll briefly state it.
1- Nina decides against training in the tall grass and continues down Route 8.
2- A mile or so down the road, she discovers a small house with its door ajar.
3- She enters the door to find that the house is empty, but has a small staircase leading downward.
4- Nina goes down the stairs and finds herself at the beginning of a new underground path.

"I told you, Kassie, I don't care to discuss it right now," Lt Surge said, his tone sharp. Kasiya sighed, taking a sip of her lemonade and looking at him.
"If you really don't want to," she said. "You could try to find out what went wrong?"
He laughed. "It doesn't take a tactical genius to figure out what happened. The girl walked in and made mincemeat of my trainers and me. She knew what she was doing, bringing a Piloswine in here, it being part ground type, but I really wasn't expecting it to know Earthquake. My poor Raichu couldn't do a thing."
"At least she was nice about it," Kasiya added hopefully.
Surge laughed again and put his large, rough hand on her head. "I can always count on my Kassie to cheer me up when I'm down," he said. "And for that, I thank you."
Kasiya smiled. "Oh! I haven't shown you my Pokemon yet!" she suddenly cried, very excitedly. She unhooked her Pokeballs and held them out for the gym leader to see.
"Ah, so I see your little egg hatched, eh? Were you suprised?"
"Very," Kasiya said, her grin stretching from ear to ear. "I can't believe it, an Eevee of my very own!"
"That Eevee was specially bred for you, Kassie. You probably don't know, but it knows a special move that it doesn't learn by growing stronger."
"Really?" asked Kasiya, still holding out her Pokeballs. "I'm pretty sure she only just learned how to do Sand-Attack."
He nodded. "She can also do a move called Wish. When she looks like she's taken a bit of a beating, just have her use Wish. She should get some of her health back relatively quickly."
"Wow," Kasiya gasped, taking it to memory. She released Eevee, who sat down on the floor and yawned loudly. "I've managed to catch a Pokemon as well," she added proudly.
"Let's see then," Surge said, picking up the little Eevee in his hands. Her tail flicked excitedly and she tried to lick his face.
Kasiya tossed the second Pokeball on the floor, revealling her Pikachu. "Pikaaa," it said, also yawning.
"Ahaha, taking after me, I see," he said, studying Pikachu closely. "You raise this one well, and it should prove to be very reliable in the future."
He looked up, seeing that they were not alone. A girl stood before them, holding a package in her hands, and looking at them both intently.

"Fine then..." Roxanne said, turning around once more. Kilik smiled, and put his Eevee on the floor.
"Try your best," he said, patting it on the head. It cooed and ran out to the battle field.
"Since you only have one Pokemon, I'll use one myself..." she tossed a Pokeball into the air. "Geodude, go!" she called. A small floating rock appeared.
"Geo! Dude!" it barked.
"Eevee! Tackle!" The fox jumped at the rock Pokemon.

"Well, this is most certainly a change from the other underground path," Nina commented, looking around as she walked. What is this material? Misdreavus asked, looking down at the floor. Nina squatted down and let Marill out of her arms, and felt the floor's surface. "It... feels like it is linoleum," she replied, looking to Misdreavus, and then standing again and continuing walking.
It was somewhat silent for awhile, as Nina walked down the path with Misdreavus at her side and Marill at her feet. However, Misdreavus broke the silence by asking Nina, What exactly will you do when you find Sabrina? Nina didn't reply immediately and had her eyes cast to the side. She replied, "I... hadn't given it much thought... there are some questions that I want to ask her, and I was hoping that she could tell me who my birth parents were... She actually knew them; I didn't. I grew up believing that Angela and Richard were my parents... but... I was wrong..." Nina's voice trailed off and Misdreavus didn't pursue any more questions. Marill began to skip along, singing "Mare-rill, mare-rill, mare-rill..."
It wasn't much longer than twenty minutes later that Nina and her Pokemon reached a fork in the path. The left path had its floor still covered in linoleum, but the right had changed to a steel flooring. "Left to Celadon, right to Saffron," Nina repeated to herself, and took the right path.

Bryn smiled slightly as she got noticed. Hunter sat by patiently to the right side of her.
"G'day Lt. Surge! My name is Bryn and I was sent by Professor Oak to deliver this package to you. He had told me that its your last needed bit of equipment to finish ... well he didn't quite say what but to finish whatever it is you need to finish. sir." Bryn said and handed over the package to Lt. Surge.
Bryn noticed the other young girl showing off her pokemon. Bryn recognized the Pikachu right away however the other one caught her attention with its cute ways.
"I know about the Pikachu, Prof. Oak has done some wonderful studies on them. However to be honest I'm not too sure what that one is. But its adorable. Working on becoming a trainer?" Bryn asked the young girl and knelt down to pet Hunter watching the pokemon.

"Geodude! Tackle as well!" Roxanne ordered. There was a squeal. Eevee was knocked to the ground, while the rock Pokemon hovered above it.
"Eevee! Get up! Tackle again!" Kilik clenched his fists. The fox stood up weakly.
"Ee...vee..." it took a breath and jumped. When its head connected with Geodude, it fell back, gritting its teeth. The Geodude, however, hovered there unscaved.
"You see, Kilik. I didn't want to battle you for this reason...Geodude! Rock throw!" Geodude hovered close to the ground and picked up a pile of rocks from the floor, tossing them at Eevee. Although the fox was weak, it had dodged most of the rocks.
"Eevee...Tail whip!" Eevee shook its tail. Nothing happened. "Er..." Kilik took a step back, clutching Eevee's Pokeball in his other hand.
"Geodude, finish this! Tackle!" The Pokemon swooped down and knocked Eevee over. Before the fox hit the ground, Kilik lifted the ball. A red beam was sent from the center of it and Eevee disappeared inside.
"You were right...Eevee isn't strong enough..." he turned on his heel and left.
"Kilik, wait!" Roxanne called back Geodude and approached him. "The fact you tried is valiant. Just...train a bit harder. Maybe if you evolv---" she was cut off.
"I'm not going to evolve my Eevee!!" he barked before running out of the Gym.

"Oh, thanks a lot, Bryn," the gym leader said, his eyes growing wide at the package. "I've been waiting for this!" He jumped up off his throne-like chair and darted out of the room, looking rather excited. Kasiya stood up, brushing away the dust.
"I just started the other day," she said, looking at Bryn. "That's Eevee, my first Pokemon. She's a toughie, I tell you. She even brought down a Sandshrew a few hours ago. Are you a trainer?"

After a short while of walking, Nina and co. noticed that water started to run along the floor. "What the...?" she said, looking at the ground for a moment. She noticed a few drains on either side of her.
After walking for a few minutes more, Nina's ears perked a little bit. What's the matter, Nina? Misdreavus asked. "I... hear something. It sounds like more water up ahead..." she replied, speaking kind of slowly. "I wonder... could this be Saffron's sewer system?" Misdreavus replied that it could be. And if it isn't, then why were there drains back there? Nina agreed that Misdreavus was probably right.
After what felt like eons later, Nina approached the end of the tunnel. At this point, however, the path grew much bigger and Misdreavus was right-- this was indeed Saffron's sewer system. There were machines around that were containing and processing greenish water, although there was enough water on the floor to cover Nina's ankles. She discovered a large ladder that had been soldered onto a wall, and climbed it with Marill on her head and Misdreavus near her; when she reached the top, she moved the circular cover and poked her head out.
"Girls... we're finally here," Nina said in disbelief.

"Wow...you've trained her well." Bryn said without a hint of emotion "A trainer? no not really. I'm a lab assistant for Prof. Oak. I've just had Hunter here for a few years now. She's been my best friend since the first day. I've never truly battled with Hunter. I've trained her with different tricks that the professor has been teaching me but that's really it." Bryn explained to her.
"He was rather excited to get that parcel...makes me now wonder what was in it."

"Oh," Kasiya said, feeling slightly disappointed. "He looks tough, though." She thought for a moment. "You know Professor Oak?" she asked, offering Bryn some lemonade.

"Yeah, I've been working with her for a few years now," she said, taking the lemonade and watching Eevee and Hunter sniff each other. "It's always interesting to run errands for him, sometimes he sends the wrong package to the wrong recipient." She bent down and petted Eevee on its head. "I can't get over how cute this little one is."
