Tekira shrugged. "I have no idea. It's not my boat." she said with a slightly embarrassed grin. "Why don't you ask it? Maybe it'll tell you."

Aer gave a soft laugh, suddenly feeling a little adventurous. "Well, Wraith said himself that I'd have to get to know the ship if I'm going to be its captain someday. Hey, at least this time I won't have to risk killing us all just to find the light. Lux, go on ahead of us, would you? Stay close, though." Lux chirped and floated into the ship. "Oh," Aer added, "and Tekira, Janika, and Wraith are friends, so be nice to them." Lux gurgled back at him without turning around. Aer had no idea what it meant, but he looked at Tekira and Janika and stepped into the ship. Lux's body was giving off more than enough light to illuminate the corridor for almost ten yards in any direction.

Tekira followed him, looking around. This was a part of the ship she hadn't seen before, although it might have had something to do with the fact that she'd only seen about three rooms in it, not counting the corridor she'd been in earlier. "It's way bigger than it looks, isn't it?" she said aloud, glancing down the hallway.
((OOC: What does Wraith's ship actually look like? I can't help but picture it as this giant UFO. I know it's not supposed to look like that, though.))

Aer grinned. "I think he's bright in more than one way," he said. "He seems to understand everything I say, even though he doesn't speak the Common Tongue..." He frowned around. The second everyone was on the ship, the hatch slid loudly shut, and Aer jumped. Lux flitted back, staring at the closed hatch, and then up at Aer.
"It's fine," Aer said a little breathlessly. "It's fine, Lux."
Lux gurgled slowly and turned away, heading down the hallway again.

Ikken Isshu Satsujin blinked as she was pulled out of her reverie. "Hm? Oh... Well, I don't know if I would have on my own, but it's a tradition where I come from. When children come of age, they must go on a journey to find their Hearrtes. I'm forbidden to return until I have found it. They say it weeds out the weak Calan and keeps the island strong." She was forbidden to speak in too much detail about her island, Senjou; it was a hidden place, as were all of the Gensanchi Calandreai. If she revealed its name or location to outsiders, those outsiders, by Gensanchi law, would have to be killed. And for revealing it, Satsujin herself would be obligated to commit seppuku--ritual suicide--or else face the penalty of a more painful death at the hands of her countrymen. If they ever found out.

Satsujin shuddered. "I don't think I could live in a place like that," she said. "I'd go crazy." She shook her head slowly and laughed some. "You don't seem like the type of person to come from a place like that. I'm guessing you aren't like most people where you come from?"
As she spoke, she scanned the horizon with one hand acting as a visor over her eyes. She didn't see anything or anyone, but after her mistake in the desert, she wasn't about to let carelessness slip into her habits again.
She was also anxious to get some blood on her hands, too. She knew the general direction of her Hearrte, but it was unsettling to not actually be able to feel its pull. It was like seeing a room full of light, and then being forced to search for something in that room in the dark. She remembered where it had been... But it was unnerving to not be able to feel it as she moved closer. And the distance itself was a problem; she hadn't been close enough to tell how far it was. For all she knew, it could be on that mountain ahead, with Faeandra's Hearrte, or it could be another hundred miles past the mountain.

"I assume he...is Lux a he?...has decided we're following him." she said with a smile.

Faeandra laughed, "I guess I'm not much like them. Got me in a lot of trouble as a kid. They not very accepting in my city. I think it's the Calan in my blood, makes me yearn for something more than being underground. My grandpapa was half-Calan. He was like me. Left and never came back. My grandmother wouldn't take him back if he did." She sighed. "Fun times."
She glanced at Satsujin, "You okay? You seem a little uneasy. We'll be stopping to set up camp soon, but we can stop sooner if you still need to rest."

((I'm posting, but I probably won't be able to for about a week afterward so please don't be too surprised when I disappear ^^;; ))
Satsujin didn't stop scanning the horizon. Every once in a while, she turned her head under the pretext of glancing over at Faeandra, while in reality she was checking behind them.
"'Tired' and 'uneasy' are two very different things," she said in a businesslike, no-nonsense tone that she often adopted when in danger or otherwise on a mission. After a second, she glanced at Faeandra--actually looking at her, not checking their rear--and frowned. "Sorry," she said. "No, I'm not tired. I'll stop when you're ready, and not a moment sooner," she said seriously.

((*Random puff of smoke* WOOSH! I have returned! My apologies for my absence, it was by no fault of mine however. My parents have been pressuring me to obtain my driver's permit. Finally they stripped away my electronic entertainment privliges untill I had obtained this card saying I could travel the concrete jungle in the company of a licensed adult over 21. So lock the doors and hide the children, 'cuz I'm prowling the streets.))
Wraith looked up from washing his face as the familliar bang of the ship's side hatch closing caught his ear. Standing and drying his hands upon his pant legs, he stomped over to his ship. Being in such a bad mood, he did not pause to admire the pure beauty of the ship as he strode to a lift that would take him to the main deck. While the ship had taken on many shapes, one for every previous owner, currently it resembled something he had seen in an old book of a time before the separation of the worlds. Large and triangular, it was supported just above the ground by three huge dacking legs. It's keel was long and narrow, widening considerably at the top. At the aft, several magick pulse generators were positioned to push the ship throuh the air. Several like it were underneath to provide altitude control. At the bow, the whole of the ship narrowed to a single point, like a bayonet fixed upon rifle. With a wave of his hand, the deck shifted and through the open hole rose the particullar piece of platform that the three adventurers and the familliar stood/floated over.
"So, you thought you could leave without me, eh? Well you can't fo--" Wraith noticed the orb of living light hovering close to Aer's shoulder. "What in blazes did I tell you about letting that thing on my ship!" He drew a magicked pistol from his belt and leveled it at the thing.

Screeching terribly, Lux easily ducked under the pistol's line of fire, flitted through the air toward Wraith, and expanded to engulf the man.
"Lux!" Aer cried, running after the familiar. "Don't! Stop!"
Just as Lux had completely engulfed Wraith, the familiar gurgled disappointedly, and opened, sinking away from him, revealing that he was completely naked. Aer blinked for a moment, and looked down at Lux, who seemed slightly... bigger. And brighter, he noticed. Aer coughed. "Um," he said to his familiar, "did you... eat... his clothes?"
Lux chirped happily in response, and floated over to fly circles around Tekira's head.
