Children Of The Flame

Gion looked at the mouth of his tiny cave and blinked.

The doorway's filling in, he thought with surprise. He thought for a moment. That might explain why it's getting so warm in here ...

Make sure to poke a hole into it every once in a while.

Daemon replied back a bit nervously. He didn't like the idea of being snowed in like tha.

Gion nodded and kicked some of the snow away.

You're going to have to remind me to do that through the night, he told Daemon. Because I think I might sleep heavier than usual tonight ... I'm so tired ...

He suspected it was from trudging through the snow so much.

I'll make sure to remind you.

Daemon replied back certainly. He didn't want Gion to be snowed it... and it might be without air no less!

Thanks, Gion grinned.

He chuckled. And all of a sudden I can't wait to arrive at Ulani and Ulrich's.

He paused thoughtfully. I wonder if they know sign language ...

Hmm... that's a good question.
Daemon replied quietly letting Gion get some rest.

Gion closed his eyes and sighed contentedly. It was silent in his little hole ... dead silent.

And that sort of worried him. Who knew what sort of creatures (or people) could sneak up on him without him knowing?

But then, perhaps Daemon's sight would warn him if there was any danger.

Daemon wasn't so worried about people or creatures sneaking up, it was snowing most would stay out, and the snow would cover tracks and scent... as well as Gion. No, he was just worried about Gion being buried.

So every once in a while through out the night he made sure to remind Gion to poke a hole.

Gion was still tired come morning. All that waking up through the night to poke holes in the doorway hadn't allowed him to get his proper sleep ... though he supposed he would just have to get used to it. On the other hand, it had been sort of fun sleeping in a hole in the snow ...

He stretched his body cat-like because of the low ceiling and made sure that he had plenty to eat and that his stomach was full before he ventured out from his little cave.

It was still early, and the sun had not yet risen - either that or it was just really cloudy. The snow was no longer falling, but it was still windy. This however was not the first thing that Gion noticed when he looked around.

The first thing that he noticed ... was that the drifts had more than doubled in size. Now more than ten feet tall, he didn't have hills to climb ... he had mountains.

How does it look?
Daemon asked a bit worried since he couldnt' see but since Gion had to poke holes throughout the night he assumed it had continued snowing that night.

Gion took a good look around and "showed" Daemon.

It's crazy, was the only thought that took shape in his mind.

Hmm... that's more snow than what we normally get.... how interesting.

Daemon replied not overly worried except there was no path, but well he would expect that.

Ah well, Gion shrugged. We're still heading north ...

And he checked to make sure that he had everything, and started off.
PostPosted: Mon Mar 12, 2007 7:13 pm

True... I wonder if we head far enough north we'll have an ice wasteland like a desert one... only... cold.

Daemon wondered to Gion, since Gion would know the best about the layout of the land.

Well, Gion mused, I know that way up north, beyond the Mystic Mountains, are the Barren Plains ... though I don't know what the climate is like up there ...
