Kaori had smiled to herself in her astral form when she saw that her energy was indeed getting through to the half-witch. She could feel herself getting weaker in this form as well now though, and so had cut of the flow of energy when she was about half out. She felt as if she were swaying on her feet, and so allowed her eyes to close for just a moment just before the two womans attacks collided.
When she opened them again, she was back in her body, and was staring at the leaves above her. Her head was pounding, and she tried to raise a hand to her forehead. After a couple of tries, she gave up, she had just expended to much energy.
Closing her eyes again, she berathed in deeply, though what she smelt in the air caused her eyes to open her eyes again. Smoke... she hd forgotten about the fires that she had seen raging in the astral plane until just then. She could not move though, not an inch. Oh god... I hope the others are alright... was her first thought as tears somehow managed to well up in her eyes and pour down her face. Someone... anyone, please, come find me, I cannot move.. I cannot speak... Abel... Her thoughts were scattered, but these two were the most prominant ones in her head. Once again, she was helples. Again, she was useless.

The earth rose behind Reno, falling away to reveal the robed, unharmed figure of Lucia. She looked around with a smile at all the destruction she and the anathema had caused, then turned to face Reno. "Do your wounds need treating, Inquisitor? I have finished my task and am prepared to aid you in any way that a priestess of the Gods might." She paused for a second, as if in consideration than spoke again, "I would request that you not refer to me as 'Chosen'. I was not chosen by the Gods, I was merely created by them. There is a large difference, one I feel it important to recognize. She grinned wickedly, glancing once again at the debris that surrounded her. "Allow me to see your wounds, if you will."

After being thrown off by Cyreanne bursting into flame, it took him a moment to be brought back to reality by the bolt of energy that was quickly making its way towards him. He threw himself forward slightly and to his right, rolling once, barely avoiding the attack, popping back up on his feet moments later. He lets his ever ready bow drop to his side, his shoulders slacked. There was no more he could do. He was half-demon, but he knew no magic as other non-humans would. He had his swords, but this option he soon viewed as a form of suicide.
He glanced up to the trees between him and Kaori. The fires were traveling quickly, and there wasnt much time. He glanced back to the crater that had formed around them, picking out Cyreanne in the near middle. He strung his bow across his back in one quick fluid motion and sprinted down the side, slipping every now and again on loose rock and the earth making the sides sliding. As he reached her, he noticed the dead child, which she released as she coughed up blood and collapsed. Without thinking twice about it, he scooped up the naked woman, almost a complete stranger, but there wasnt time to waste.
He turned, and headed off, not in the direction of Kaori, but away from the fires, and away from the village, deeper yet into these unknown forests. He found a slight clearing, not as big as the one Kaori was in now, but it would work. He laid her down, dropping everything from his back, and using the simple pack which held his few personal belongings to prop up Cyreanne's head. Without another word or wasting a moment he turned and began to run again. Now in the direction of Kaori, hoping he wasn't too late. As he approached the clearing, this time he didnt slow and dropped clumsily to his kees next to her, slipping his arms under her head and using his other hand to drape his cloak over her then slide it under her knees. As he stood, he glanced up, the fires were advancing, the lack of trees had helped him buy time. Now he could return to where he had left Cyreanne, running halfway, but by now, he was close to exhaustion and walked the rest of the way. Laying Kaori down next to Cyreanne, he again used the balled up cloak as a kind of pillow. Now that he was done, he dropped to his knees to watch over them, wondering where he had lost the other three at, and hoping they were ok.

Foolishly believing when she’d gotten up and run that the half witch was able to do so as well, Selyna was nearly a half mile away before realizing she was running alone. Confused as what to do, she stopped and began looking around wildly as she tried to figure the best move to make. She had no idea which way Abel and Kaori went, she wasn’t sure what had happened to the sisters, and she knew even though she’d only met the half witch, that she couldn’t leave her to fight alone. Go back to your village… they mean nothing to you….. you could run and save yourself….. Disgusted more than tempted by her subconscious thought, Selyna gave an inhuman growl, before morphing back into her leopard form and running back in the direction she thought she’d just come from. Half way back, she could smell the smoke from the flames being set by the two coming from east of her; cursing under her breath at getting lost as she ran, she changed course to make it back, hoping the sisters had been able to stay and help. Feeling like a coward for running and getting increasingly worried as she heard more explosions, trees falling, and could actually feel the heat from the flames of the fights ever changing course.
Selyna had reached the clearing of a village and saw the woman she’d abandoned, just as an explosion sent her flying back into a tree and ricocheting off to the left of it. Growling as the wind blew across the deep gash she’d sustained on her upper shoulder blade; she was a bit disoriented and felt it best to find where the enemy was before pursuing Cyreanne who’d just been snatched up by Abel. Watching them run off, the leopard reduced size as it transformed into a cat and, growling slightly as it made it’s way around the crater slowly, she hoped she’d go unnoticed by the attackers, so that she could quietly make her way to wherever two of her allies had just gone. Trying to stick behind the debris so as not to draw attention, she walked slowly and with a limp on her right front shoulder blade from the gash. Following her nose, she eventually would come to the clearly to see Abel on his knees, hovering over both Kaori and Cyreanne. Not sure if either were alive or dead, Selyna would give a pitiful cry as the orange cat limped up to the group. She stayed in this form as she would be better able to clean her wound, and no one would ask her for an explanation of her spineless actions.

Kaori had slumped gladly in to Able's arms. He was warm, and she knew that she was safe now. She drifted in and out of conciousness as he ran. By the time that he layed her down next to some one, she was concious, but very groggy, and unable to do much of any thing. Her breathing was shallow and it took a great amount of efort for her just to turn and look at the girl beside her and then back at Abel. "Thank you..." she said, though the words were just barely audibly.
Slowly, she licked her lips and smiled up at Abel, moving her hand clumsily towards him. The smile stayed on her lips as she looked around and spotted the outline of an orange cat in her blurred vision. "Selyna?... I am glad... that you...are safe..." she mumbled before her hand droped again and she turned her head so that it was laying unsupported by her. She stayed concious, but she had not strength left in her.

Cyreanne awoke with a start and rose from her position laying on the floor, a scream escaped from between her lips. Her eyes wide and bloodshot, her scream was cut short by a sharp pain in her sides. "Damnit." She muttered under her breathe, tears filling her eyes, "What have I done..." Her voice was a rasp, her throat too damaged at the moment to produce her usual tone, "What have I failed to do..." Memories of all the destruction her battle with the zealot had caused, all of the deaths, rose to her mind. An image of the child she'd failed to protect grew in her head, then she realized she was naked. Knowing she had too little energy to summon her clothes from where she'd hidden them in the mountains near her old home, Cyreanne covered as much of herself with her arms as she could. "Does anyone have a spare cloak I can borrow?" Her voice rasped weakly. She cursed under her breath, knowing that she wouldn't have the energy to combat the zealot if she encountered her again any time soon.

Abel's gray eyed gaze swept up to take in Selyna's orange tabby form limping toward them. He never doubted her, though he wasnt entirely sure where'd she'd been through the whole ordeal. He nodded once at her, his breathing still slightly ragged so he too was equally up to a verbal greeting as she had been. Other than the few scrapes he had acquired from dodgingg Lucia's attack and the bruise currently surfacing on his back from rolling over his quiver, he was exhausted, but in perfect shape. Miraculous compared to the two witches and fellow shifter before him and the missing pair of sisters. When Kaori spoke out, Abel's full attention was immediately drawn to her.
"Shh. . ." Abel consoled and ordered all at the same time, shaking his head. "Theres no need for that" As she reached toward him, he brought his hand up to meet hers. Quickly at first, then he hesitated, apprehensive, but he did grasp her hand. His long fingers wrapped gently around hers, examining it in silence for a moment, turning it this way and that before glancing back at her. He blinked a few times in shock mostly, an amused grin on his face. After everything she was grinning at him, barely able to move, breathe, tak, or anything of the like, but there it was. "Hush now" he ordered once more, "You need to relax and heal or we'll be her forever."
As Cyreanne screamed, Abel cringed, "Shut up!" He snarled, his head snapped in the direction where they had just been, scanning the trees and listening and scenting the air before turning back to her. "Are you stupid?!" His eyes were fierce upon her, she was putting them all in further danger. He felt a slight tug from Kaori's hand, he realeased it, letting it drop back to the girls side. Abel's gaze softened slightly as she began crying and blaming herself, but her actions still angered him. As she asked for a cloak, Abel nodded, turning back to Kaori. He moved closer to her sitting crosslegged and gently moving her head to rest it in his lap once again. He tossed the balled up cloak to her without another word.

Cyreanne looked at Abel as she wrapped his cloak around her. "I'm sorry, I forgot where I was..." She was blushing, part of what blood was still in her body moving to her cheeks. She looked around her, then down at herself. "We need to split up. I'm not safe anymore." She clutched at her stomach, where there were marks from where Lucia had penetrated her, "I can still feel her inside of me, I don't know what that means." She swore under her breath, "She could be tracking me, and by tracking me she would be tracking you." With that Cyreanne turned and began to leave. As she was walking away, she stopped and spoke again, "I suggest you head out as soon as possible. And I'm sorry, for all of this." She looked at Abel, "Would you mind if I held onto your cloak for a while?"

Abel was thrown off a bit. "I- uhm" he stammered, unsure of what he could say. She had a point. It wasnt safe for her to be around, especially since they all were sitting ducks until they healed. "Are you sure?" Was all he could come up with. He looked a bit unsure still, but this was the right thing, the only thing. "Stay safe." He wished her, nodding, not caring much about the cloak, she needed more than he did. Even as it was fit for him and much too long for the much shorter girl.
He looked down at Kaori, agreeing deep down that they needed to find a safer spot. But how far? He was the one in relatively good condition. He glanced toward Selyna, wanting to know what she thought, and he wasnt to give in on asking simply because she was that feline form. She could shift just as easily as he could. ((eh, not as good. sorry.))

Cyreanne nodded her head, "I'm sure. There's no telling what she did to me." The passionate tone to her voice was beginning to return. "Abel, thank you for the cloak, and for the rescue." With that she turned and left.
Cyreanne wandered through the forest towards the nearest visible town, visible to her only because of her ability to detect heat signatures. Suddenly realizing the danger in this, she took a sharp left and began heading back towards the crater. As she traveled she looked around her for the nearest heat signatures, hoping to spot some survivors of the battle she'd been so careless as to take a part in. She noted a few barely visible heat signatures to the east and north west, but not enough to suggest any large quantity of villagers had survived. A feeling of painful regret, built up in Cyreanne, quickly turning to resentment, to rage. She concentrated on the intense anger as the emotions fueled her powers, her magical energy regaining itself at an increased rate. She focused on her hatred of the people who had taken everything from her, and led her to take everything from other, completely innocent people. Then she felt nothing. Cyreanne closed her eyes and focused on the magical energies surrounding her, flowing through the trees, the magic of life. The magic that becomes released when she burns living things, and that she can draw from the air back into her self. She aimed her hand at the broken tree nearest the edge of the crater and it burst into flame. She took the energy released, and fed on it.
((Don't worry about it, it's my fault for not giving you much to work worth. ))

Ears folding back as Kaori expressed pleasure in her being alright, Selyna shied away a bit, but came closer, stopping at the opposite side of her hostess. Sniffing at Kaori’s face, she bumped her chin softly with the top of her head before slowly shifting into a humanoid form, sitting on her knees. Are…… are you gonna be alright? Feeling embarrassed to even have to ask her this, Selyna balled her fists, knowing she should’ve been there to help instead of being a coward and running. She was sure that’s why Cyreanne hadn’t said anything to her before leaving. Looking at Abel and back down at Kaori, she mouthed What happened to the sisters? at him, so that her hostess wouldn’t have to hear the question in her current condition.

Abel watched Selyna, the way she folded back her ears when Kaori had expressed her pleasure that she was alright caused him to do the same. His wolven ears layed back against his head in distrust of the whole situation. He fought the urge to prevent her from coming closer, but he knew Selyna. His shoulders and back became rigid and his face became stony and expressionless.
Her question to Kaori made his shoulders slacken and his gaze to drop. He wasnt sure, and there was nothing he knew he could do. It took Abel a moment to glance back up at Selyna, and he found her mouthing a question to him. He shook his head, still very unsure himself. He was glad she had mouthed it to him, he knew it would kill Kaori to hear it. Atleast now.

Kaori had been waching the half witch leave, a slightly saddened look in her eyes. She turned her head up again, a quiet laugh escaping her lips as Selyna nudged her forehead. At her question, she nodded, her breathing was already becoming less laboured, more like someone that was asleep. "Yeah... I just... just need to rest. Used up to much energy... that's all... Don't worry." She smiled at both of them before closing her eyes and resettling herself so that she was more comfortable.

Both Reno and Demetrius had watched as the duel had left the burning woods and had become a slaughter as it entered the village. Both of them did or said nothing as the embers, flames and rolling hit spun around them in a dizzying vortex. Both watched as the villagers died and buildings began to blaze and Demetrius felt his insides clench and he suddenly, and very much, wanted to do something. But Reno’s stillness and utter lack of emotion held him at bay. The killing grew worse and finally Demetrius allowed himself to speak, though his voice was dull and dead.
“Will we do nothing?” Embers burst between them as the fires burned, consumed the wood and began to fade off, ash raining from the heaven down upon them, tears from the forest. Reno said nothing. He only stood there, wrapped in invisibility; his eyes watched the gray ash float before him like dancers at a funeral. “Reno?” Came Demetrius and again he went unanswered. The silence held the answer Demetrius had and both spun around with a vicious veracity as they both drew knives as a figure burst forth in a shower of still glowing embers and ash. Both froze as they recognized who it was but lowered their weapons as she spoke. Silence surrounded them then and for a long time neither said anything and then, his voice oddly cheerful, Reno returned his blades to his sheaths and pulled back his hood.
“Well, I most assuredly cannot say I had much measure of approval for the so straight forward method in which you attempted to bring that a anathema now, but the good of a few must be sacrificed for the good of the all, and we will do as the gods’ will. Conve Teronious Vertu.” Reno flexed his shoulders and gave a half smile, his eyes display for the mistrust he still felt for this woman. But despite his feelings he spread his cloak open let the dim like that filter though the smog catch the blood that oozed from his side. He grunted slightly. “Now although you bestowed these wounds upon me, I must say you have managed to gain some measure of my trust. I do indeed ask you to heal my wounds…” And after a long pause he added slowly. “Priestess.”

Danaiss had been following the group for a while but he lost their track trying to keep a large between them and him so that they did not notice him. It is when he felt a wave of souls and life energy disappearing that he knew in which direction to head. Despite his hurry he arrived too late, the battle...and what seemed more to a massacre was over. *Who could do that?* he whispered full of hate. He decided to look for the members of the group. They looked stronger than the average villager and he hoped that they were all fine. His thoughts still in the horror he had seen, he was not concentrated enough and bumped into the group without warning. His bright blue eyes were looking at Kaori lying down apparently resting, Abel and Selyna there too. Caught offguard he hesitated, not knowing what to say to them, his tall height and dark hair seeming to make him a threat for them. He felt like he knew them but they had never seen him. Plus he hated talking. *Anyway I better say something before they jump on me.* he thought. "I am Danaiss." he said as an explanation...and then added "And I am on your side."
