Wynter was slowly coming to, her breathing ragged and difficult. She felt like she couldn’t get a deep enough breath and only struggled to do so. Her thoughts were muddled and confusing and the only thing she could really concentrate on was trying to relax. Her hand fought to move up to her throbbing head then to her throat which was beginning to show finger-shaped bluish bruises. Barely remembering what happened she tried to keep herself awake.
Hearing footsteps, Wynter tried to say something -- to get someone to help her – but all that came out was a raspy pain filled groan. There had to be some way to get someone to hear her, some way to make some kind of noise. Balling up her fist Wynter tried hitting the ground but her weak pounds only emitted dull, softly echoing thuds. She faintly hoped someone would hear her before she passed out again.

Auburn continued walking and saw a little room with no door. The room looked like a little closet filled with wracks and shelves. A couple of shelves had some weird devices that looked alien to him. Must be something for water. One line of wracks had see-through guns. They look like toys, what could they do he thought to himself. No harm in taking one though... He took one of the guns and searched around the closet for his backpack. After a few seconds he found it to be on a top shelf all wet and soggy. He winced. Not much of his stuff was waterproof and neither was his backpack to begin with. It was next to some other bags, but he didn't bother to even take a second glance at. He rummaged through his backpack and found his airsoft gun was probably completeley ruined. He sighed and put that gun in the wrack instead. It looked like the other guns, except that it had a blue color in the grip of the handle and it was much harder than the other guns. He kept searching desperately, but all he could find was his waterproof flashlight. That'll do him a lot of good, he thought. He threw all his other stuff on the top shelf and put the gun and the flashlight in the backpack and put it on. "Wow, you can barely feel this is even wet at all!" he said aloud by accident. He reddened a bit, embarressed by what he just said.
He continued walking along when he heard some dull thumps. They were so faint that he had to stop walking to make sure he wasn't just hearing things. It was close, but this ship was tricky, so that didin't help either. He started searching for the source of the sound, but couldn't after a minute. He was about to give up when he saw an open door and decided to check that room. Nothing was in there. Just a bed, some clothes and... a notebook? He picked it up and skimmed through it. It was Wynter's! He looked around the room and she wasn't there. Would she be the type of person to leave this out like that? Probably not. He went outside the room and down the hallway the door led out to and saw a crumpled body.
"Wynter!" he yelled. He ran towards her body. She had bruises on her neck. They were bluish and had finger marks on them. She was choked. She was barely moving and he didn't even know if she was concious or not. He saw a little piece of paper next to her and took it in one hand. He rolled his hand into a ball and tried to pick her up. She was light as a feather, but it was hard carrying her in a position that wouldn't hurt her. He walked slowly and dileberately towards the room. She was probably going to hate that is was Auburn who saved her, but she would have to deal with it later. Right now she needed to get to that bed and tell him everything now. He needed to know, or else more people would start getting hurt. "And the little battle between us and those guys wasn't enought, was it" he mumbled to himself.
He tapped the door open and it creaked a little and he made his way slowly into the room. He gently laid Wynter down on the bed and sat down on the floor next to her. He had his back to the bed (bunkbed?) and started reading the note.
Hello my dear Travelers...

Wynter could barely feel someone picking her up. She was trying to keep awake but at the same time her body was trying to shut her down so it could repair damage. Finally she gave up and just relaxed letting sleep come to her. She couldn’t tell for how long she was out when she next woke up but she wasn’t where she had been laying before. She was on a bed and was most grateful for it. Wynter’s thoughts were more concentrated and clear now to where she could remember things and think rationally. She didn’t really feel like remembering what happened so she focused on trying to get around. Her head throbbed and her neck was sore but she fought the pain so she could at least sit up. Her first attempt at it was a failure and just made things hurt worse. What is it with people and trying to kill me?! She thought in frustration.
She managed to get herself up on her elbows but not any farther. Wynter opened her eyes blearily and saw someone next to her. At this point she didn’t care who it was she was just glad they had helped her. Recognizing who it was Wynter tried to say something.
“A— . . . Auburn?” She rasped, her voice hoarse and strained. Her strength was beginning to give out and she flopped back down on the bed. She was nearly ready for another nap but this time it could wait.

He put the papers down on the right of his right leg after reading them and put his hands on his face. Wow. All of them were going to be killed. He added that worry to his mental check list. He put his head up to the top of the bed not moving his hands and gave a big sigh. He was alone with Wynter and she couldn't tell him anything now.
"This is just so screwed up right now!" he yelled. But just then, he heard Wynter rustling around in the bed and weakly say his name. "Wynter! Are you ok!? Damnit" he yelled but started to say everything softer as to not give her a bigger headache than what other aches she had right now. He looked at her for a bit, but then saw she was struggling. That was good. She had a bit of energy. She'd be all right, she just needed rest.
"Hey Wynter, if you need something, just hollar, kay?" He couldn't find anything better to say, so he just went back to his position with his hands in his face just wallowing in his predicament.

Wynter just nodded tiredly and closed her eyes again. Now that she had fought off the sleep it wouldn't come again. she touched her neck delicately and sighed feeling the various bruises and aches she had recieved from being thrown around so much. What was it with her? Was she just some kind of violence magnet. She sure was at home.
Wynter took her mind off things and recalled a memory. Her and Jet had been getting up to trouble . . . a lot of trouble. As it turns out no one likes it when you steal their shoes and string them up on telephone wires. They got jumped for that one. Jet ended up with a bloody nose, twisted jaw and a broken wrist while Wynter merely recieved a black eye -- the results could tell you who was a better fighter. The consequences for getting in a fight could tell you which family dissaproved of any punishment besides grounding.
Jet and Wynter had gotten in some pretty tough situations but could always pull through for eachother. He was the one person she missed the most at the moment. Maybe if here were there she wouldn't be neck deep in catastrophy . . . or maybe he'd just be neck deep with her. Either way she would be better off.
Wondering where everyone else had gone, Wynter lifted her head and looked at Auburn whose face was buried in his hands. It would seem that everyone was having a bad day in some form or another. As it turns out, finding out that you're some kind of travelling cosmic wierdo could be a real day rewener. What makes it worse is that there's this maniac demon murderer who's out to kill you -- what else do murderers do, right?
Wynter swallowed and took a shaky breath. "Auburn, h-help me up." she said, making it more of a command then a request.

Auburn didn't move at all for the first 10 seconds but take in a big breath of air. Afterwards he puffed it all out in one huge blow. He hopped up without energy and squated down next to the bed. He faced away from the bed and patted his back.
"Hop on, Wynter. Your hurt, and no matter what you say your not walking. Try beating me up if ya want, but that's not getting you anywhere but just losing energy. And anyways, I'm not in the mood for complaints, and I'm guessing neither are you" he said flatly as if a very tired person said it.

Wynter frowned and shook her head slightly at the undignified way he intended to help her around. Of course having someone carry you around in any way, shape, or form causes a small loss of dignity and pride but piggy-back rides were a bit much.
“Eh, sorry, no.” she coughed tiredly, “I’m not about to be toted around like some backpack. Let me walk, I’ll be fine. Just let me hang onto your shoulder and I can handle it.”
Managing to push herself back up on her elbows she looked to Auburn sternly. Something on the floor caught her eye and she saw that it was a piece of the strange paper the man had given her to write on.
“What’s that?” she asked roughly.

((Short post >.<))
He turned to glance at her and nodded. He put his arm under one of her arms and slowly lifted her up out of the bed. He had to slouch a little because she was smaller than him. It didn't matter, he wouldn't be standing straight anyways.
"Oh, that thing? Just think of this as all of our death note" he said with the same flat tone. With his other free arm he smoothed his hair back. "Yep, wonder when this Saint Dane guy is going to strike" He read it at least 4 times before stopping thinking that is wasn't the truth.

Wynter looked at Auburn exasperatedly and leaned on him for support.
"What do you think happened, I just strangled myself? From what that sonofabitching cow told me he's already almost done here on Cloral . . . And who knows what other territories are his. He's not fooling around and what he gave me was just a warning, imagine what he could do full fledged . . ."
Wynter was becoming frustrated which took more out of her than she had expected. She suddenly grew very pale and lightheaded but didn't say anything. She would rather tough it out and stay standing.
"No matter what happens," she said faintly, "We need to keep going. We can still save Cloral, I know it. It's Hezex's home . . . and not only his. Saint Dane will come after our territories too. We need to stop him . . . we need to find Pendragon. He's still alive, I just don't know where. If we find him we can figure out what the hell is going on, what we're up against . . . oh, what am I getting myself into?" she let her voice trail of a little, her body losing strength along with her voice. Her head felt like it was spinning and she rested it on Aubrn's shoulder to stop the dizziness. There was no way she was going anywhere in this condition.

((Just trying to kill time with this post till other people post, but by my next post, I'm going to help try and move the rp forward a little...))
"Heh, your an optimist, aren't you? Well, I've already backed out once and decided to stay, so guess I used up my get out of trouble card, so I guess you have one permanent ally so far. And what's this talk about territories? We've never quite had the time to talk about this and I'm very lost on the subject. We can't go anywhere anyways cause we're on a boat, so sit down, and talk. You'll get your energy back later" he said with a bit of a cheery tone, but you could tell he was forcing it. He gently forced her down onto the bed and sat down on the floor, cross legged, looking up at her with his wetsuit and backpack on and a look of innocence on his face.

((I'll post a little later . . . I don't know where everyone went. Hezex needs to post but if he doesn't I'm going to PM him a warning. I've decided that in order to keep this RP moving and not make it such a burden to ge people to post I'm going to start making rules about absences.
If you know that you are going to be absent for longer than a week or two then you need to inform me. I don't need a reason because I like to respect people's privacy, just warn me if you're going to be gone and at least allow someone to use you character in a minimal way in order to keep things going.
If you do not inform me and do not post withing two weeks then I will give you a warning. Three warnings and your gone -- no exceptions and few excuses will be taken. I hope this is agreed and understood, if you have any problems talk to me personaly about it. But, I'll tell you now I'm going to stand firmly next to this plan so don't expect it to change. This is not all that demanding and I'm only doing this because I would like to keep this RP together.))

Wynter was about to argue to sitting back down but beacuse she was too weak to stand on her own anyways she supposed it would be for the better. She sat down dizzily and cradled her head in her hands for a few moments before looking up. She wondered where she should begin . . . maybe when she had gotten sucked into all this would be a good place.
"Well . . . this all started with me when I was sitting at home . . ." she bagan on a grave note. The entire story was a serious one from the time she found the journals to that moment. She told him everything -- finding the rings, the journals . . . killing her father, having to run away -- everything. Wynter had left the journals back on First Earth but she could remember everything that was written in them as if she had flash cards in front of her.
She told him about Gunny, Saint Dane, Press and Bobby Pendragon. Halfway through she had to stop because her throat had begun to hurt badly. After a few moments she started up again trying too keep all her thoughts organized. Wynter switched from what the journals had said to what happened when Saint Dane had just attacked her and what he had told her. Bobby Pendragon was alive.
When she finished she sat back in reflection of all that had happened and everything she had just told Auburn. Some of it made sense, most of it didn't, but at least they knew what they were after. Now that she thought about it she realized just how much she had been through -- more in one day than many people go through in half a lifetime.
Wynter layed back down on the bed tiredly, wanting sleep, but fighting it off again.
"This is crazy, Auburn." she said softly, "It's all so crazy. What am I going to do? What are we going to do. I feel like I'm loosing it."

He sat there quietly for a moment. That was hard to take in, no matter how much of it was proven right in front of him. He accepted it as the truth, but deep in the back of his head, he didn't believe it.
"Well, if "Bobby" is still alive, mabye, it would be a better idea to find him ASAP. Since there are four of us, mabye one of us could go look for Bobby on the other territories while the rest of the... what do you call them? oh yeah, Travelers, can go and do whatever you need to do here. And if you don't mind, I'd like to be the one who goes out to look for him." He said looking her eye to eye the whole time. He was serious about this. He chickened out before, but now he wanted in and wanted a big job to do to finally prove himself worthy... or die trying.

Wynter shook her head.
"No, not alone. You need someone to go with you, someone to have your back. If you wait a while and we figure out what's going on here on Cloral then maybe by that time I'll be okay enough to go with you. If you go alone you're going to have something like what happened to me happen to you but no one is going to be around to help you."
She paused for a moment to find another reason to add to her argument.
"Plus, you have no idea what the other territories are like. You could end up really hurt with no one to pull you out. Also, what if you leave and Saint Dane follows bacause he's already done here on Cloral. He will not be so sparing after his warning and could just kill you right off. This is a very dangerous game, Auburn, don't play alone."
((Kay, did some mending and adding to the 'Rules and other stuff' in the second post on the very first page. Make sure you read them and are clear about them or face the wrath of me . . . *rawr*))
