greyknights can't team up with orks... orks don't team up with anyone.. how you going to tell a warboss that working together is what he should do?

They can't ally, but strictly speaking, two players (or even one player) could run two allied armies in a multi-player game.

Fluff isn't rules, and all.

lol... it makes ya think of what greyknights really do.. they stand against massive hords and still come out

... my battle report I made was most interesting.. shame I can't remember the whole game gonk

anyway.... my greyknights survived sustained assault when my enemy had mostly infantry units(zombies)... the sustained assault lasted for 8 bloody turns

my force of 1 grandmaster, 1 brother captain and 6 greyknight terminators, 4 squads of greyknights(2 were teleport attacks) and 2 dreadnoughts

all that remained was my grandmaster though he was wounded, 2 squads of greyknights, but both were not near the 50% mark so that was good.. and that was it... 8 turns and all i lost were a few squads... and I assaulted my way through the turns after about turn 3.... the emperor was really aiding my forces, took 2 squads of 10 bigmutants and a squad of 20 mutants(made as zombies) to take down my squad of terminators who were in combat for the entire game almost.. till they died gonk as the rounds passed I lost 1 terminator.. then another.. then i failed 4... leaving my brothercaptain screaming with rage to take down 1 final mutant before he was quickly overwhelmed in the swath of enemy attacks... they are even harder to take down then necrons

.. and anyway the assault can still win for us... but with all our stormbolters and super good shooting we should kill quite a few as they advance.. only deadly things are nobs with power claws and other close combat hard hitters like a nob squad..... 3nodding mind you if they went vs some termies the termies would have a better chance....

Orks can team up with kroot, imperial gaurd (freakishly rarely), and chaos. Though i agree grey knights would never work with orks.

Dark Eldar and Eldar can pay them to work for them. Weapons and stolen ships and things like that.

Anyway, thank you for the info.

yes some of the races work with kroot, actually all of them except tyranids, daemonhunters, necrons, spacemarines, and witch hunters. All other armies will use kroot.. and for using orks... it's not that difficult for an eldar or dark eldar to use trickery and make the orks do something stupid like set up a base right in the path of an enemy xp

Opps... oh yah Tau Can't use kroot... not kroot as in kroot carnivores, kroot as in kroot mercinaries... because the kroot keep that life hidden from the tau... 3nodding

I never knew daemonhunters could use non-imperial allies... is it possible?

Not legally, however friendly players often spar with odd mixtures in what you could call a "tag-team match."

Again though, I still refuse to believe that charging Ork mobs with Terminators (unless combat on their turn is inevitable) is ever going to be you're best option. First of all, emassed Storm bolter fire is a quick bane to larger Ork mobs and secondly, the mobs will cut down the Terminators armor to a 4+ all the same, and with only a 6+ armor save the Terminators pose only a minor advantage over the normal Knights at a much higher point cost.

To even win the assault would be a waste of casulties and very important lives.

It's like you're all having completely separate conversations.

Vinnicius: "Charging into close combat is retarded."
ElDragoPazzo: "I agree, Grey Knights in close combat ROCK."
heaenlyangelgoddess: "That's why guns are great - for charging!"

whee

lol so... being disorganized ROCKS... xd ... and ahh the mighty terminator...... the greyknights are much more brutal as they do not suffer from powerfist slowness... sure they have -2 strength compaired to their powerfisted cousins but

.. with a weapon that counts as power, and gives +2 to strength and strikes at I4.. is much better then a weapon that gives the same stuff.. at +4 to strength at I1.

if you put both marine and grey knight terminators together... the greyknight would own in the first round 3nodding

The Nemesis force weapon is only a power weapon in the hands of the Justicar - the normal terminators just get +2 Strength.

normal GK +2S
Justicar, Terminators, Capatain - +2S, power weapon
Grand Master - +2S, force weapon

btw, all GK have WS5, making them really excel in hth...
