Startled, Kyte quickly put an arrow to her bow before she realized that the stranger asked a question. She pointed her bow at the ground and noticed the arrow he had.
It's the same as the ones we found.
She cautiously put the arrow away, but stayed wary.
Holding her now empty hands out face-up, she said in Elven, "We seek a group of humans who came this way. Is there any chance you have seen them?"

The elf looks at Dimitri for a moment, but does not raise his bow. "Yes. Some humans tried to pass this way last night, accompanied by foul creatures. We killed most of them, the rest fled the wood. We usually do not appreciate trespassers, but I must say it is a pleasure to see another Elf, especially one who appears to be a woodswoman.", he continues, speaking directly to Kyte now.

Kyte relaxed a little, smiling slightly.
"I must ask, friend, were they carrying anything? A book of some sort?"

"Well, we cleared the area of any bodies or equipment, but the men were just ruffians. I don't believe any had a book, or the ability to read for that matter... Several of them escaped out of the wood though, as we do not protect areas beyond our borders.", the elf responded. "The group that fled headed south along the edge of the wood, trying to keep out of range of our bows."
As he speaks, you suddenly realize why he refers to "we" and "our". There are actually a good number of archers that look much like he does, hiding all around you in the wood.

((gah, sorry, somehow I didn't see this being updated)) I give a small bow "It is good to see a friendly face, rather than a murderous one. I am Nizam, gnome of the woods, and I have been spending much time in these woods lately. My comrades here have promised not to bring harm to these woods. I thank you much for your information."

The wild elf puts his arrow away to greet Nizam, "Aye, I have seen you before I believe. It is also good to see you are well after the affair in the town. We had only begun to muster any help when the raiders where routed. We followed a few heading south towards a large cliff on the edge of the wood, but we were forced to kill them before finding where they were going."

I give a little chuckle "Oh a few goblins could never take me down. But, as for where they were heading, we may know the answer to that. At least, their final destination. Perhaps you may know which way we need to go, as you probably know these woods better than Kyte or myself." I tell him of the book, and the evil cleric whom we're tracking.

"It certainly is bad news about Moonwind's book, but the Council did warn her. We will lead you as far as the edge of the wood nearest the cliffs. If you are able to retrive the book, you must resist any urges to use it." The wild elf and his squad, which consists of another 9 elves, leads you through the wood along it's edge for nearly an hour before you emerge from the trees to see a jagged cliff face in the distance, cut right through an otherwise flat pasture. Upon one of the tallest and narrowest outcrops stands a blackened citadel with high walls. It appears to be built directly into the cliff face, which also consists of blackened rock.
"We believe the Citadel would have been the group we were following's destination, but they noticed us here at the edge of the wood and we had to fight them." The other elves disappear into the woods again , but the elven scout turns again and adds, "My name is Little Dancer. I will be awaiting for your return."

I give a low bow, and smile up at the wood elf "I thank you very much for your help, Little Dancer. And I vow to you on my Gnomish blood that I shall not allow any in the group to be tempted by the book. A book like that could cause great harm in the wrong hands, as our current mission would point out."

"..........................................."
Kyte pointedly ignored Dimitri. She bowed slightly to the Wood Elf.
"Thank you for your help, Little Dancer. It is nice to know that a friend waits for us."

ninja "Sorry, this tends to happens to master sometimes. Whenever he's surprised, the memories of at least a few days is forgotten and takes a small amount of time and effort to be regained." ninja With a small bow, Brendon goes to help Dimitri with his memory problem.
