Rei was somewhat surprised to see Lain return after being away for so long. But then again, it was good to have a guide. Much better than wandering around the mountain blindly in hopes they found the place, even if the Masquerain's directions had been a bit difficult to follow.
They continued on long enough that Rei was glad to take a break when it was offered. But unfortunately they didn't get long to relax before the group was suddenly attacked.
Rei leaped to his feet, growling "What is the meaning of this?" When he saw attacks being exchanged, he decided further talking would be useless and joined in the fight. He leapt at the Mineshao, since he had a better shpt against that than the Ground-type Marowak.

Caliban threw himself at the Mienshao and let leaves fly from his fur, pelting the other Pokémon hard. The Mienshao slashed him across the shoulder in return, but it had been well worth it. [Mienshao's HP: 1300/2000] [Marowak's HP: 1700/2000] [Caliban's HP: 700/1000]

Rei leaped forward and sunk his teeth into the Mienshao. It knocked him off and sent him tumbling away, but he quickly scrambled back to his feet.

Having kept hidden behind both the larger Pokemon in his little party during the entire Darmanitan ordeal, Barneby finally timidly peeked back out, only to find the confrontation of a new set of Poke's... ones that did not look too thrilled for the groups presence.
It was out of sheer fright that he unleashed a sudden String Shot, at the Mienshao, managing to tangle around its feet and cause it to slip up... but not without getting a firm whap by the long tresses dangling at its arms.

Jax grinned. She had been itching for a fight since that dang Masquerain got them lost then nearly drowned. She would have preferred to take her aggression out on the ditzy bug but decided that battling the two offending Pokemon would be a better use of her pent up frustration. She smiled calmly at Barneby and aimed for the two wild Pokemon. She barked and shot forward, gathering a fire in her belly and shot out a blazing hot flamethrower at the Marowak. Marmalade glared down at the two enraged pokemon. "Looks like it's a fight they want," she told Pangolin.
"Please allow me," hissed Pangolin. He lunged at the marowak and slashed with his long claws to use poison sting.

Rei's fur sparked for a moment before he shot a bolt of lightning at the Mienshao. It swiftly retaliated by dashing towards him and kicking him hard in the side.

Rei stepped back and studied the Mienshao for a moment, waiting for an opening. When it was busy attacking someone else, he dashed in and Headbutted it from behind. The Mienshao smacked him away again, but it was starting to look worn down.

((I'm so sorry I haven't been able to help/participate more! I've had a lot less time free than I thought. XP))
Tybalt had been shadowing the partly, and was disappointed he hadn't been close enough to get a hit in on the laid-back ape at the time, so when the opportunity to battle came again, he was all for it. He leapt at the meinshao with a sharply barked, "Have at you!"
The marshal Pokemon moved smoothly out of the way, and the growlithe sailed past.

Caliban snarled as he clambered back to his feet, and he dove fast and furious at his enemy. His shoulder struck the Mienshao hard in the belly, knocking the wind from their lungs. As the two Pokémon collided, Caliban's second mushroom, caught between the battlers, burst open. Spores swirled around the Mienshao's face. Their eyes glazing over, the Fighting-type slumped, unconscious, to the ground. Panting, and oblivious to the mushroom's – or any other Pokémon's – part in his victory, the Leafeon grinned down at his defeated foe. The win was a fitting counter to his humiliation at the hands of the Darmanitan. "This mountain won't take me down," he growled. Pumped up with adrenaline, Caliban failed to realize how his own strength was fading as he turned a savage eye toward the fallen Mienshao's Marowak companion. Tybalt saw his opponent expertly felled, and, not to be outdone, the growlithe darted at the marowak's bone club, seeking to disarm the dangerous ground type. Instead, the club struck him a glancing blow. The shame of a 2nd miss stung more.
