He tore his eyes off the crown, shaking his head. No, he wasn't unappreciated. Nevada, Wilson, Solia, Eva, maybe even Ami - they appreciated him. He told Regal to stuff it about the crowns, and cocked the hammer of the gun, aiming for the Insanity woman.

Bix's FEAR shield saved him again as Dakota's blade cut into him but with the shrill ringing of the crowns Bix could do nothing but shove the hunter away from him with a grimace.

The crowns began to ring so loudly that the chieftain reached up to clamp hands down on her ears even as she landed on the snowy ground. All around her, elves sprang to life and began tugging on her, pulling her closer to that abyss around the human figures feet. That large and eerie smile seemed to beckon her closer, the call of the golden crown ringing out to her louder then the others. The whispers in her head actually became silent for once, cutting off abruptly as if they too were listening to the siren song that tugged against her very being. Tainted with insanity, and now suddenly tainted with some new power...
Shaheen roared out a single, wordless cry, her hands dropping to her sides, her eyes wide and full of rage. Her dagger was back in her hand, glowing and pulsating with her Fear that she jammed into it. The she sprang forward, at first intent on driving that dagger into the woman who held the tray of crowns, but found herself twisting, disoriented, her blade instead ramming against some disgusting hunter.
Instead of attacking though, the hunter pulled Chama up in defense. When Lex's gun shot him in the back, he curled his lip at the life hunter. "I'm going to get you back for that a*****e..."
Only after the crown though. The crown soothed him, called to him, beckoned him. Such a object, it was any wonder he was fighting so hard for it.
Ariane hadn't hadn't really spoken to Sasha since that whole fail-Jerry incident once upon a time, but she had seen her around the island; although she had noticed the woman's haircut - which, to her, was her most obvious change - Ariane couldn't help thinking that the atmosphere surrounding Sasha had changed too. What do you call it... The vibe she was giving off? She seemed a lot more reliable somehow.
Then again, it could just be her imagination; her attention had been diverted to the crown, and for a moment, she couldn't help thinking about wanting one of them for herself. It was almost as if they were calling out to her... Even if the sound they were making was giving her a bit of a headache.
"Oh great," She muttered, looking at the fog elves that were forming around them. Like before, they were more of a nuisance than a real threat, trying to pull and push and shove them all into the abyss, "I think the only way to get rid of them-" And the only way to the crown, "-is to get rid of that."
Almost on cue, she was sent stumbling forward, away from Stormy and Sasha, and towards the vortex. Somehow, she managed to stop herself from falling over, swinging Kintama out in order to land a hit on the foggy figure... Now that it made much of a difference. The elf wasn't allowing her to move back, and she was standing too close for comfort to the vortex.

because for a moment there, he SWORE the elves had left and all he saw was crowns.... but now the elves were back? "Leave me alone!" He growled out, using a paw to swat at them momentarily.
Seeing how much that didnt help, he shifted back into human form to see if that would make things better. Using a rock on the floor, he flung it at the boss girl in frustration. "GET YOUR MINIONS AWAY FROM ME."

Any possibility that he could keep his attention off the center of the action was pretty much gone by now. The black shards in his bones resonated in the presence of the crowns, an answer to the burning emptiness he'd felt for so long now; he was transfixed. The distortion did its own job - the idea that any of these faceless masses around him should have them was laughable. They didn't understand what he was capable of. Only he would have power like that.
His claws struck with glorious purpose.

Leon watched as the situation quickly got out of hand. the being that looked like Julie still stood there, unmoving and smiling. that plastered on smile that she had was upsetting. It didn't match the look of what she had before.

Something was hissing, drowning out the thick song of the crowns. Madison whipped her head to one side irritatedly, but there was no one there. No one to the other side, either. Her gaze turned upwards once more-

... Kouki, she realized, belatedly. When she focused, she could feel his eagerness to be released; his concern was pointless, and thus not worth considering. Raising one hand, she set Kouki free; the blades flew forth hungrily, crashing against the Julie-doppelganger's legs even as Madison herself was pulled closer to the vortex. It was a decent hit, and Kouki hissed in pleasure, but Madison barely reacted as the blades returned to her hands and to their scabbards.
The crowns were her world.

For the most part--beyond whacking at the elf that had been tugging at her--Eva had chosen to stay silent as she listened to Ryan and Wilson converse with amusement. Oh, boys. She took relief in the fact that Ryan seemed well enough to grump at Wilson about their heights. It was much more of a relief to see compared to the weak, shivering young man that they had found not long ago.
"Look on the bright side," She chirped, lifting a hand to pat the blond on the head, "You're taller than me."
Eva fell silent as she turned to look at Julie, though like many of the others, she too wondered just how many times they would have to fight and encounter her form. Hadn't once been enough? Ignoring the elves that continued to tug at them--they had returned after a brief lull, it seemed--she moved forward and swung her weapon out at the figure.

It was the same as that time in Christmas; the crowns called out to her, whispering to her, filling her head with thoughts and ideas and emotions she didn't know she had. Or maybe, just the things that she didn't like to think about, because it revealed a side of her that was, in her opinion, hideous. However, the crowns seemed to have the ability to dig those things up, exposing them.
In a way, she was a coward just struggling to be a better person than she really is. Maybe more people will appreciate her - appreciate her effort and her work - better... She groaned, sending a weak attack in the fog lady's direction.
Ceres had not been much help when it came towards saving Ryan and Kat, and she was not exactly sure how she felt about that fact.
She could not let that get her down though, because soon she was tossed into yet another battlefield. This time though, there were a LOT more faces here that she knew... and a lot more made her put on her game face. Her moon face.
She knew Bix was here somewhere too, he would not have missed this. In the back of her mind, she would always worry about him. Cases like this more than others.
