Fey of Silver Light
Janis looked down at the large slab. She was a little skeptical that she could eat all of it, but she recalled the time before she was a dragon. She'd had to eat meals as large as this. It shouldn't be difficult now.
She reached up to pat Cornelius's draconian face. "Thank you." she said and turned to the meat. She didn't want to switch between forms as that was bad for the babies so she stayed as she was, but she wasn't sure if she could tear off pieces with just her hands.
She soon found out that wasn't a problem and began to eat the dragon sized portion in front of her. To her own surprise she found it was gone before she realized it. It was amazing that all that fit in her stomach. She wasn't staving now, but she wasn't exactly full either.
Janis asked and eat the next portion Cornelius brought for her. With that she sided and licked her fingers. "I think I'm good for now." she told him. A blush colored her cheeks. "I hope I didn't look like a pig." she said self-consciously.

Cornelius shook his head and said, "Nope, you're just really, really hungry." He too wondered how so much meat could fit into her stomach at one time and added, "I'll go get some more." He smiled at her and stuck out her tongue to lick her, but then stopped. His tongue was far bigger than her entire form. Such a thing as licking would only cause her to be covered with slobber. He slurped his tongue back in and turned away and walked off to get more meat. Then he remembered she said she hadn't wanted more.

"Dang," he muttered to himself as he turned back towards her I think I'm having trouble hearing you." He stretched his wings and looked down at her asking, "Now what?"

Janis was finding looking up at his dragon form weird. He was so big. Thankfully he hadn't licked her. She would have killed him if he did. He had already sneezed on her once. She wasn't planning on adding slobber to the list.
When he asked the question she wasn't sure herself. She rubbed her large belly thoughtfully and studied him. She realized as wouldn't be able to fly for awhile. The thought made her somewhat disappointed. She loved flying.
"I guess we can do whatever we want. I'm don't feel sick thankfully. But... I think I'm going to need you help getting around. The cave is dragon sized. it'll take me forever to get to ever room." she sighed. "But... can we go outside? Maybe swim or walk or something." she chuckled. Thinking of a walk made her think of the village. What would their faces look like if they saw her now?

Cornelius nodded and stated, "Yes," when Janis asked about going outside to swim. He bent his neck down and picked up with his teeth like a mother cat would her kittens. He then placed her on the back of his neck and voiced, "I hope everything will be all right for you up there." Before turning around slowly and walking towards the exit of the cave. He moved carefully so he would not jostle Janis.

Janis trued not to move as he picked her up. It was briefly uncomfortable, but soon she was on his neck so it didn't matter. it was interesting. She kind of liked it up here. She held on to his mane as he began to move.
"So far so good." she told him so he would know she felt fine. She hummed to herself until they reached the lake. "Hey, I never asked... Being... pregnant and a dragon now.... If it still nine months naturally?" she inquired. If she was going to be laying eggs she wasn't sure how that would work.

"I'm not sure about that entirely... My family never told me nor have I really heard or seen from another dragon how long a pregnancy takes." Cornelius admitted as they walked. "I would assume it takes quite a while though since we are very big creatures and need time to form eggs and an embryo rather than just an embryo by itself." They reached the outdoor lake and when they did he saw Sampson laying around on a rock near the lake.

He looked like he was resting, but opened one of his large eye and said, since he had overheard them, "You're nowhere near the end of your pregnancy and will not be for a while. Pregnancies for dragons take fifteen months. You're only about two months through your pregnancy now, so you'll need to wait a bit. It is also why though you cannot give birth in a human form. You'll be packing on what seems like two pregnancies at once and generally the number of dragon eggs one has ranges from three to five."

He paused for a moment and said, "Imagine it now and you will see how scary that actually would be. It would be like having six to ten children at once..." He lazily scratched the rock he was on with one of his claws and then shut his eyes.

Janis sighed. "Well that a comforting way to put it." she mumbled. She looked at the older dragon. He looked rather tired. "Definitely be in dragon form when it comes to that." she said.
"Three to Five, huh?" she smiled. "I wonder what they'll look like." At the moment she was in a good mood. She was excited to be having children. "Um, Cornelius, Help me down?"

Cornelius reached around with his neck and picked her up with his teeth before setting her on the ground. "This should be good enough dear..." he said as he looked down at her. "I'm glad you're happy, but definitely remember to keep aware of your body's changes and the growth you'll probably be experiencing here. I mean, well..." He felt had been too lecturing like recently and bent down to her. "Er, just have fun with it overall I suppose and let's see how many you actually have later." He was quite embarrassed to admit that he liked the idea of seeing her with a pregnant belly. It, he felt brought out a gentleness in her and reminded him of his mother who used to tell him stories and things about her own pregnancy from time to time.

Janis placed a hand on his large face. "I am enjoying it. Don't worry. I'll be careful" she assure him knowing he meant well. He knew more about it than she did, so she didn't mind he words of caution.
She slipped into the walked, only going in past the waste. She wasn't sure how well she could swim so she stayed in the shallows. It felt nice to be in the water. That room had been hot. She smiled and floating, just her torso and round belly visible.

Cornelius watched her go into the water before changing back into his human form and stepping into it. He noticed her belly sticking out of the water and voiced, "I bet this water feels really cool on your body. I probably should have shown you the nesting area I had dug out later so you wouldn't have gotten into so much trouble in there with me."

He walked over to her belly and rubbed it pondering, "If our babies are in egg shells possibly do you think we would be able to feel them move around? In fact, I really wonder if they are since putting two layers between them and the outside world would be a little troublesome." Watching her float in the water was fun.

Janis blinked, stumped. "I... I don't know. Maybe they'd the soft at first and harden the longer they set until they hatch?" she suggested. It sounded incredibly weird.
"Or maybe they'll just be babies." she wonder. "And don't worry about the nest. We would have had trouble sooner or later." she said, placing her hand on his.

"You're a good mother to have put up with me this long. I feel like somehow I've failed or forgotten something." Cornelius admitted. He felt her hand around his as the floated in the water and sloshed through it before bending down over her face to kiss her on the lips. "You keep being a good mother, and we'll have good children."

She smiled up at him. "I sure hope so. But you underestimate yourself. You prepared an entire home for us. If that isn't what a good father does, I don't know what is. This is our first time. We're bound to make a few mistake along the way." She reached up, placing her hand against his face. "As far as I know you haven't failed yet."

Cornelius smiled and hugged her. "I'm glad you think that way. In that case, maybe we can do some other things to prep for our children? What do you think we should do? I mean we have a house, good access to water I suppose, and a couple other things like clothes for you, but we really do need a good food supply and some other necessities like that."

"Definitely. We can go on daily hunting trips." Janis agreed. "Samson can help, I'm sure. Then were can finish preparing the nest. Maybe decorate the house a bit." She was silent as she tried to think of anything else they would need. "We're not forgetting anything are we?" She didn't feel like it but she wanted to make sure. She rested her head on his shoulder, trying to think. Nothing came to mind at the moment.

Cornelius wrapped his arms around her waist and said, "I think that is all fine and good. I really think we have covered except that we're still standing in the middle of this lake. I believe it would be good for us to get out." He was feeling a slight chill all along his body and really felt it a good idea to get out. Being a reptile, he was not used to temperatures as much as he would have liked to have been.
