Her hands held her weapon tightly, taking comfort from the feel of them. Though not so much from the gloating coming from Vashi about being handled by a lady. Some males, it seemed, never grew up. And it was just her luck to get stuck with one as a weapon partner.

:: Like you can really complain about me not being satisfying? :: Vashi chuckled.

Fini rolled her eyes, glancing around and nodding towards Bix. "You got it." She replied, watching as her hunter mentor moved towards the barricaded door. And then there was a big furry a** bear thing making a mess. Correction: a yeti. Fini couldn't help but snort in exasperation at the appearance of the yeti. A yeti in the North Pole. No wait. Two yeti's. There had been that one outside, hadn't there?

She blew out her breath, stray pieces of silver hair moving out of her face. And then had to dodge around a few things of debris here and there.

:: Well, isn't this just exciting, precious? ::

"I'm alright!" Fini called, ignoring Vashi and stepping over the remains of...something. "Yeah, two. I think." Her lips cracked up in a small smile. "Gotcha. I'll keep my eye out for more big furry puffballs."

She felt a pang of frustration at not having been able to fight against the yeti. Too busy dodging debris. She was definitely going to have to work on her agility in training. And maybe have a few spars with fellow trainees. Anything to help her improve. And she was definitely 'man' enough to not pit any blame on Vashi. It had been her own damn fault for not attacking with the others.

:: Don't get too 'woe is me' now. You might just get that chance. ::

Fini tilted her head up towards the ceiling for a moment, listening to the rumbling. Huh, the vârcolac might just be right. :: Perfect! I can go get my a** kicked now while attempting to step the fuzzbutt with you! :: Or something like that. She knew she had much learning and practice to gain with Vashi. But Fini was learning to trust him and fight with him. And then there was basically an explosion of wall...and one of the fuzzbutt's was back again.

This time, Fini went for the attack, sais at the ready as she stepped around debris and avoided other trainees. Once close - ohgod so grosssss - she sliced one of her sais in a downward arch in an attempt to hit the yeti. The second sais swung upwards as Fini jumped back to get out of range or any retaliation or other attacks being made.

"Daaaamn, it's bigger when up close and personal." She muttered. "And smells." Which could probably have been what it had....spewed.

It hurt. It stank. It was scary looking. Izy was screaming. Even as she was being squeezed her hand shakily brought up her crossbow, her finger trying to pull the trigger. She didn't know how to use her FEAR attack. All she knew how to do was attack.

She just hoped she could get another shot in before she puked.

The arrow slammed into Jerry's gut, hard, since she was right up close.

The Yeti reared, howling and banging on it's chest in a gorilla-ish manner, which it immediately regretted regardless of how convincing he was sure the movement was- it certainly FELT right for how his brain was reeling just then... even so, it hurt, head to toe. Even as spinning yoyos crashed like rocks against brittle golem bones and swords sliced him open, he could feel his body giving out- not his body... just press forward. Not his... his feet he was tripping over and... he gave a half-hearted swing, completely missing several unfamiliar trainees, a dim sort of low pained moan escaping his lungs. The sudden burst of arrows against his chest, and the Yeti hauled backward, the room spinning and he couldn't see but was his vision in his remaining eye swimming or was the room collapsing just hold on just a few more swings and...

Jerry's vision went dark as the Yeti shuddered, and rocked on unsteady feet. Finally, the monster keeled backward, but as its carcass came crashing down on Maddie, Fini and Emma, it burst into bloodied snow around them.

Was that a bear jaw?

Sydney quietly fell to her knees and started gagging, then throwing up. The smell... the squeezing--

She shuddered finally, taking a deep breath before sitting up, wiping her mouth off with the back of her sleeve, and looking around. "Is everyone okay?" she asked those closest to her. "And does anyone have some water?"

Her mouth tasted like crap.

As soon as the creature was down, Gale was up off of his feet, darting towards the trainees. He reached out and grasped Maddie's arm first, pulling her upwards.

"Are you all right?" he asked, wrinkling his nose a bit at the snow and brushing a bit from her shoulder. Fini was next, Gale touching a hand to her arm, though he said nothing, just pressed his lips together to keep from vomiting at the smell and glanced around at the snow surrounding her and the other new trainee, whose name he did not know.

"Are you all okay?" he asked, and glanced over at Sydney, frowning slightly. "Everyone good?"

<< It didn't dissolve normally. >>

I know. Something's...off.

"I'm fine," Madison said, with a sigh of relief. Not even a scratch. Not bad! Maybe this dodging thing was really working out for her... though if the beast hadn't burst into snow at the last second, she probably would've been hurting.

She quickly swiped Kouki's blades clean on some of the normal snow before sheathing them, much to the weapon's disappointment. "Where's Dillon?" she asked, looking around with concern for the last trainee in their little group.

Watching the large fuzzbutt warily, Fini was slightly concerned with the suddenly sluggish movements it seemed to be having. And even as her mind tried to sound of a warning bell (no that was not Vashi making noises), it was too late. All she saw was a mass of white fur....and then an explosion...and....

:: ....Are you...alright, precious? ::

Oh <******** hell! She just stood there...sort of. Okay maybe she was kneeling now, head spinning slightly. Her body was all but frozen, regardless. There was bloody snow lodged in her clothing...down said clothing...in her hair - which was not quite as silver as it should be... - <********> Fini felt her stomach lurch as the smell surrounded her, eyes staring at the mess she and a few other unfortunates had been hit with. Don't throw up. Don't throw up. She tried to breathe out her nose in deep intakes of air, only getting that raunchie scent of cold dead yeti.

It was either some grace of divine pity or extraordinarily convenient timing when a hand touched her arm and distracted her from really concentrating on the bloody snow. She tore her gaze away from what was around her, looking up to see a familiar face. Gale.

"I'm alright. I think." She'd be alright. Hopefully. Definitely after a very long very hot shower. And something to take the taste out of her mouth.

"I'm fine," Sydney said. "Possibly a bruise in the making, and I ah... could use rinsing my mouth out. And a shower." And some potpourri or incense, or BOTH at the same time, because she was positive that the smell would linger long after the yeti died. Bleach. Bleach or pinesol would be nice. And then another shower.

Izy was oddly quiet. She hesitated, her expression growing a bit vague. Izy? Izy speak to me.

And before Dillon could get in on more of the action, the yeti had been taken out and had burst into a shower of bloody snow. It wasn't pretty.

<< Useless. >>
I know.

The trainee had finally managed to sort his weapon out and gave a wave to Madison to indicate that he was still there. And after taking a look at Sydney, he began to climb over the wreckage and retrieve the bottle of water in his bag.

Here,” he said, nudging a bottle of water towards Sydney as requested. The trainee was feeling pretty bad that she had gotten the brunt of that ... s**t, and that so far, he hadn't done anything worthwhile on this mission. He really wasn't good at this was he?

Sydney took the water, uncapping it and rinsing her mouth out before discreetly spitting it into a not so stepped in space. "Thank you," she said to Dillon. If you asked her, right then, that water thing was the most heroic thing a guy could do. But she was admittedly biased.

As the yeti fell, Rep moved to get away from other people a bit, for their own sakes and his to avoid their reactions. He doubted even rubbing snow on himself would make any difference to get this off and assumed what he really needed was a long shower, the sea wouldn't be much good in this case either. Just had to try and not ******** think about it for the time being. Just had to be..professional.

Maybe something else would attack them, god he hoped so, the less he thought the better.

Before was nauseated, frustrated, and in need of answers. But given who they were with at the moment, he doubted he'd be getting anything he wanted soon. Or ever.

Aria was missing.

Or at least she wasn't in the general vicinity. She wasn't there when the yeti had attacked the group at large. It stood to reason that at some point she had slipped out of the main room, disappearing elsewhere. Truthfully she was still inside the base -- simply in another room.

When Jerry had attacked the two Suns and Moon trainees that were doing a perimeter, Aria had gone to investigate. As a division leader, she did not need permission. Nor did she feel she had to tell them, "Hey everyone, I just heard a really loud roar. It's not a polar bear, so I'm going to go check it out okay? Carry on, I'm going to leave the boring work to you while I go do something exciting." As far as she was concerned, they were all a sort of adult. If they wanted to disobey her orders and abandon their posts, it was fine by her. She was a division leader; she was allowed to do so, ie the rules did not apply to her.

So when Aria finally did reappear, she did so by stumbling through one of the many holes in the walls. She did not comment on how Swiss cheese-like the outpost had become, nor did she bother stating any fact or comment regarding the large amount of blood on the floor or how much of a mess there now was.

Instead, Aria dropped to her knees and shivered, setting the objects she was holding down. There was something slung across her shoulders, something that slid off of her and landed on the ground with a dull thump. Her hunter's coat was placed over this, and the movement of sitting on the floor made the white coat shift slightly to briefly flash something dark and brown before the division leader twitched her coat back over it to hide it. "I need someone," she began, raising her head up to the trainees. "No, two people to bring this to the life labs. Do not remove my coat to look at it. H, I hope you like puzzles 'cause I brought you one."

She began to rise, pausing long enough to pick up the objects she had set down. She leaned against them for support, her tired gaze sweeping across the trainees. "Grab whatever you think is salvageable," she ordered, "We're pulling out."

Disgusting. But it was another disintegrated creature. She would have to make a stop at the pod room later when they got back.

Atropos unsummoned herself into Candace's rings again as she ventured up and nudged the bear jaw with her foot, nearly gagging at the sight of how bloody and disgusting the snow was. It was a mess. And it stank! Ugh! Sogross! Thankfully Aria's return was a welcome distraction, daintily stepping through the bloodied snow like a cat that did not want to be there until she was finally out of it and at Aria's side. Eh? What was that...

"Yes, ma'am." Candace was still confused as she moved closer to whatever it was Aria was not allowing them to see. Puzzles? What was...huh. She waited for someone else to come along and help her lift..whatever this thing was.

It was as if the mention of the Life Labs, coupled by an order, and grunt work, brought Robert to life. He followed Candace and nodded consent, moving to help carry the load Aria had trudged in with her silently. His eyes were on the task at hand, and his face held the blissful blankness of a soldier just doing his duty without really thinking about it.
