[ Dylan M. Harper : Land of Departure : Dining Hall ]

Dylan nodded slowly at Lucius, cracking a smile as he continued to play. He shifted between notes, going from low to high, while raising an eyebrow at the two. He was so excited that that he had gotten someone interested in playing a musical instrument! Maybe they were trying to mimic the sounds he was making? Either way, he wanted nothing but to encourage them at that point. Hopefully they would continue to practice after today. After a few more bars, Alan jumped into the fray of musical mayhem with his lute.

[ Connor A. Duvari : Land of Departure : Third Floor : Conference Room ]

The area of the conference room occupied by the Monster Studies teacher remained completely silent throughout the entire announcement, and now that the old man was left to ponder the Master's words, it was as if his dark blue garments absorbed all the energy from the air around him. This was something that happened nowadays, of course it was. There was no escaping the facts. But it was no easier to take the first, second, third... He was usually one of the more cheerful and laid-back members of the faculty, but at this moment... there was nothing to smile about.

What shook him more than the announcements of lost worlds, strangely enough, were the constant questions swimming through his mind: How are we doing in the war? How many of ours have fallen? Are the others safe? Do they need help? Of course, he didn't ask these questions aloud very often - he had a nagging suspicion he would be lied to if he did. If he became too anxious, he would abandon the school in favor of rushing to the front lines to help the young ones, and damn the consequences. But then again, who in this room wouldn't? Deciding it had been too long since he had voiced his concerns, he cleared his throat and leaned forward in his seat before finally speaking up.

"Are the children on the battlefield okay?" He knew that he ought to address them as "soldiers" or "warriors" or even "students". But those were their children - HIS children. He had spent years with them, getting to know them as he instructed them, doing his best to prepare them... He raised his chin up, suddenly finding the ceiling very interesting, as he folded his hands together behind his head. He wanted Akela. He needed to hug him and pet him and bury his face in the wolf's fur, and yes, even hear the annoyed grunts and complaints from his best friend. But the wise wolf was asleep in their room now. All Connor could do for now was fight back his emotions, and keep them at bay until the meeting ended.

[Zikomo ~ Academy: Third Floor ~ Conference Room]

Ziko had a nasty habit of sticking her nose where it didn't belong. Now was one of those instances. Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back after all.
She was on her way to see Professor Svanhild ("Please, call me Xaviere if you would," the woman would always insist, but Ziko just couldn't) for a chat about her summer. Ziko enjoyed Professor Svanhild's presence, but was always overjoyed to see Aslan if he was present. The massive lion was native to Narnia, and would always have news of home. Instead of finding them in their office, however, she saw them walk into the third floor conference room for their weekly meeting. She gave the Professor a wave and watched as she and Aslan entered the room.

By then, her curiosity was piqued. In all of her years at the academy, she'd never found out about what went on in those meetings. All the professors just waved it off, saying it was all boring stuff--who was in charge of late night rounds for the week and the like. But there just had to be more, and in her last year she just had to find out.

Ziko walked around the corner to stay at least a little hidden, but was still able to see into the door through which all the professors were walking. She inspected the inside of the room, trying to figure out how she could get in.There were nice shadows in the corners of the room that she could easily conceal herself in, but getting there would be a trick. She could teleport there, but it would be difficult to be sure her magic signature was not fully noticed. Ziko was good enough to get past the average mage, but it was possible that some of the professors might get a tingle of her teleporting presence before she could cast Shadow and be hidden.

It was a risk she was willing to take. Ziko just wanted to know what the meetings were about, damnit! And if she got in trouble, so be it. All of her professors knew her to be a good student, and wouldn't think differently of her if she was caught. With this resolve, the training assassin pulled back around the corner to be completely hidden, teleported into the shadows, and casted Shadow Cover as soon as she possibly could. Luck had it that she chose a good moment, as everyone was still finding seats as the door closed, and seemed to be distracted. Ziko crouched in the corner, completely concealed by the shadows, and waited.

[ Xaviere : Aslan ~ Academy: Third Floor ~ Conference Room]

Xaviere felt her heart flutter at the news. She shot a tumultuous glance to Aslan, who maintained a stoic composure. The professor was sure he already knew, but hadn't divulged the information to her. That was his way, and she'd long accepted this, despite it having caused her mild frustration when she was younger. After a while, she recognized that he only told her what she needed to know when she needed to know it, and only for specific reasons.

"Yes, how are our students--our alumnus?" She asked hurriedly after Connor. Her fingers twitched a bit, and anyone who knew her would know that if allowed she would be on the first train out to provide assistance.

"If anything is to be said to the students . . ." Aslan began, the rumble of his voice easily filling the room, "I request to be present, if not to deliver the news myself."

Leora❥ ᴘʀιɴᴄᴇss ♛ ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡Student♡♡Second Year

Four people, two who had no prior experience with any musical instrument, playing harmonicas created quite a racket. Leora and Lucius, especially, were periodically squeaking out annoyingly high-pitched notes. The two showed no signs of stopping unless someone intervened, and even then only Lucius stopped when Alice stomped up to where the twins were seated at and slammed her tray on the table. "Ohhhh," she was about to begin when she realized that Leora was still playing, "Can you stop it with that noise?!".

She looked angry and a stern frown foretold the lecture that was soon to come. However, she was nowhere near furious. She huffed, and if Lucius and Leora hadn't spent most of their lives as computer programs, they would have seen that just about everyone in the entire cafeteria was staring at them, or had been. Alice wasn't furious at the chaotic noise her heart royalty were making. No, she just felt that she had a responsibility to reign them in when they were being a public nuisance.

Showing no signs of talking the ears off of the Dylan and Alan yet, Alice crossed her arms and pouted, "What do you think you two are doing? You're causing a huge disturbance." Alice half-expected the twins to reply with something about dish turbans, such was what her life in Wonderland had conditioned for.

Leora and Lucius blinked in sync at Alice's question. Neither quite understanding. Together, they glanced at each other, and it was decided that the one in charge of polite responses should take the reins. Lucius tried to explain, using a slow voice to doubly ensure that Alice would understand the obvious answer, "We are learning the har-mon-i-ca." He didn't mean anything rude by his tone. He was genuinely trying to be helpful because he thought the answer should have been blatantly obvious just from watching and listening.

Alice sighed, but she was used to conversations that tested her patience. Her arms uncrossed and settled down to either side of her hip, "Yes, I can definitely hear that. People outside probably could as well, but do you know what else you are doing? You are disturbing everyone in this dining area. Don't you have anything to say for yourselves about that?".
Leora and Lucius both looked blankly at Alice, not quite understanding what their galiant was saying. Leora was the one to turn to Dylan, wondering if he had the answers the two seeked. Lucius continued to look at Alice in case she gave the answer away herself.

[ Dylan M. Harper : Land of Departure : Dining Hall ]

Dylan stared wide-eyed as another young woman approached them and began reprimanding the twins. He didn't know who she was, or that she had any connection with the two, but she must have known them somehow, or else she was another student he had never seen. He glanced at Alan once, who held out his wing toward the green-haired teen as if to tell him not to interfere. Dylan then looked back to the other three and patiently stood by, so as not to be rude. Once Leora turned her gaze to him, he took it as a signal to help out.

"Beggin' your pardon, ma'am," he said, in a tone that was kind but firm, as he got up from the table and faced the newcomer. With his right hand, he swept his bandanna off of his head and brought it down to hold over his heart before giving her a low bow, his long green hair suddenly swooping over his face and falling askew. With a quick whip of his neck as he straightened back up, he sent it flying back behind him, though he kept the hand which held the bandanna over his left torso. "They didn't mean any harm by it. Why, as a matter of fact, you can blame me for the disturbance, since I was the one that suggested the lesson down here in the first place. It was only 'cause we were hungry, and they were really curious. I hope you won't be too hard on 'em, miss. If there's any way I can make it up, I'll consider it my duty as a gentleman." He could see Alan out of the corner of his eye, giving him a look that said "I told you not to!", but Dylan never took his eyes away from those of the blonde girl.

"No world has fallen in so long, I don't think we even have protocols in place for this anymore," Milo said from his seat next to Caleb. "Or at least no worlds our students are from. Which is really interesting when you think about it, bec--"

Caleb had reached over and placed a hand over his Galiant's mouth to silence him.

"We also volunteer in any capacity you would need us in, Master Eraqus," the mythology teacher said. He kept his hand over Milo's mouth until the linguist calmed down.

{Mizu, Zack .:. Land of Departure .:. A hallway somewhere between the dorms and the dining hall... maybe}

"Are you two absolutely sure this is the right way?" Mizu asked her Galiants, looking around at the hall she found herself in. Chip and Dale were riding in their usual spots on her shoulders, giving her directions through a "shortcut" they had found. So far, Mizu determined that it would have been faster to take the normal way. Plus, her roommate had wandered off! When did that happen? Probably when she wasn't looking; Ziko was good at that.

"Well," Chip stalled, "We're pretty sure this was it. It's not like the Academy sets up trick halls or doors or anything, right?"

"What Chipper said!" Dale piped up, just as Mizu's stomach growled. She frowned, and looked back over her shoulder at the people who had accompanied her from her dorm.

"Sorry about this," she said, genuinely apologetic. "We should have just taken the normal route. Or a map..."

"What, are you lost?" called a voice from further on down the hall. Mizu turned back to see a black-haired man with a meerkat riding on his shoulder, hands on his hips and an amusedly sympathetic smile on his face. He shook his head, and shrugged his shoulders as he gallantly held in a chuckle.

"Really, this is just too much."

(OOC: Whoever would like to join Mizu in her quest to find a shortcut to the dining hall, feel free to hop in! Even if you weren't part of the "Dorm 118 Party" pre-skip. All tagalongs are welcome~ n_~)

As the group was walking down the secret hallway. Soft mews could be heard echoing from somewhere. It was a mix of a cat meow and crying. As they continued the sound would start getting louder and louder.

[ Eraqus ; Yen Sid ; Professors : Academy : Third Floor ~ Conference Room ]

Aqua was the first to pose her question, and having been her direct master, Eraqus expected as much. All the same, as more began to pour in, he waited until the others were done before answering.

"As I mentioned, Masters Sora and Riku are alive. Sora is in good health and already on another assignment; Riku, to my knowledge, is still being treated, but is completely stable and by no means in danger of leaving us," he mentioned as they asked about the alumni--or, to Conner, the 'children'. Part of him grew morose at the question; after all, in the past, there had been so many more than just those two. But they were all that were left on the front lines, as far as Keyblade Masters were concerned. "I've been told he should be back to optimal health very shortly; he has a knack for resilience."

"As for informing the students. Master Yen Sid will be sending private requests for a meeting this evening after dinner. Adonis, your counseling expertise will help in delivery, so when the time and location is determined, your presence will be requested," he said, nodding toward the younger man. He then turned to Aslan, lightly bowing his head. "Aslan, your help in this matter is greatly appreciated, and I thank you for the offer. We will call you in, as well; as for the delivery itself, I will leave that up to the three of you to decide."

Eraqus then turned his attention to the gathering as a whole. "I appreciate the volunteers, and the readiness to help in these dark times. As of now, we have no immediate requests for aid," he explained, though his gaze slowly grew downcast. "However, given the circumstances, I feel it is only a matter of time before the King makes his call. As such, those of you who are trained for the field should begin making early preparations, if you haven't already, for assignment which may come at a moment's notice."

"Are there any further questions?" he asked, and it went without saying that he meant "about the war". School-related questions and discussions were typically reserved for the weekly Teacher's Conference; the weekly "event and duty scheduling" meetings were reserved entirely for the war talks beyond the attention of the student body.

[Allyah .:. Land of Departure .:. Hallway]

Alliyah followed happily behind her group of new friends. She enjoyed the banter between the two rodents. Her hands were shoved into her pockets as she followed lazily. Tod rode on her shoulders on their way to the cafeteria. "Well I hope we get there soon, my stomach feels like it's eating itself. Perhaps we can get to the normal route from here?"[

Suddenly, she heard a couple of voices. One was a tiny meow. The other came from a man further down the hall. " Yeah we are a little lost, do you know how to get to the dining hall from here?".

Leora❥ ᴘʀιɴᴄᴇss ♛ ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡Student♡♡Second Year

The two were grateful for Alan's support. Although, they certainly didn't want him taking the blame for it and he certainly didn't provide the answer they wanted. At least, they didn't notice the answer they sought in Alan's response.

"What exactly," Leora the rebellious representative started before Alice could, "are you taking the blame for, Dylan? And Alice, what exactly are we supposed to say?". Leora's face was set into a focused frown, which first faced Dylan before settling on Alice. There wasn't anger in the expression. Just a combination of concentration, curiosity, and demand. She stood up to make her point and crossed her arms to show she was serious, all actions that she learned by mimicking the other residents of the academy.
"Pardon the question," Lucius the gentler representative elaborated, "but could you explain why you're so angry, Alice? And Dylan, don't worry, I'm sure you didn't do anything wrong." Where Leora frowned, Lucius gave Alice a harmless, inquisitive look and Dylan a gentle smile. Leora sat down at Lucius's prompting. She didn't mean to be that forceful. She just wanted to get their message across. Just as how Lucius didn't want to just be soft. He just wanted to make clear that he and Leora weren't looking for a fight. Fighting did not appeal to either of them.

Alice sighed. Sometimes, she loved her heart royalty. Sometimes, she found them adorable. Sometimes, they were amazing fun to frolic with. This time, however, she was taking up her responsibility as their galiant to keep them in check and out of trouble, and as clearly the most responsible of the three, she most definitely intended to uphold her responsibilities. This clearly wasn't the first time something of this nature had occurred.

"Now, Leora and Lucius," Alice turned to Leora with a wagging finger and pursed lips. She was talking down to the seated Leora just as she sometimes talked to her cat, Dinah, when she scolded her for unravelling yarn or some similar mischief, "For now, you two must really stop your mischief. It's really doing no one any good. That means no more making a loud racket," an image of a literal racket passed through Alice's mind, "No, let me re-word that. That mean no more making loud noises in the cafeteria. I will tell you what you did wrong and why it is wrong later, when we're not in the presence of such pleasant company. It would be very rude, otherwise. Do you understand?".

the twins thought together as Lucius diligently nodded and Leora gave a surly, vertical jerk of her head, They weren't even angry for getting scolded. That was par for the course for the two loop hole seekers. They just wanted to know what exactly they had done wrong. It wasn't like they'd hit anyone like when they tried to play volleyball in the cafeteria.

Proud with how mature she was in her dealing with the twin, Alice turned to Dylan and politely greeted him with a curtsy, just as she had been taught good little girls should. She introduced herself, "Please, call me Alice. A pleasure to meet you and… your galiant I presume? Please don't worry about taking the blame for these two, I know they can be quite a handful." Alice nodded to punctuate her statement, a most somber express filling her face to show that she really did understand. That wasn't the end of her jabber, though. Like any good little lady, Alice asked, "May I take this seat?" as she motioned to the empty seat where she had placed her tray.

[Ferven: Land of Departure: Hallway(where he knows exactly where he is)]

"Mizuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu." Ferven called out from around the corner, CC once again lounging on his shoulders, wrapped around the back of his neck. He was still barefoot, but had at least ran back for a shirt before this random exploration. (Okay he had shoes, too, but those were in his hand. Mizu bolted off before he could put them on and he didn't feel like getting left behind.)

Coming around, he let out a yawn. "Did you get yourself lost again? You really need to get yourself a-Zack!" He blurted out the name in surprise as he saw his roommate there. Not exactly where he expected him. To be fair he assumed Zack was still off working out...so Ferv was a little thrown off.

"Ah...well, as I was saying." Was his face getting red? It felt like it(because it was). "You really should get yourself a map. Your sense of direction is horrible. You're embarrassing me in front of my awesome roommate."

For the briefest moment, Mizu was confused. Why would she need a Zack? And then realization dawned, and the biggest, most impish smile blossomed on Mizu’s face as Ferven confirmed the black-haired guy with a meerkat was the roommate she had heard so much about.

"Wait, wait, wait," Zack said, staring between Mizu and Ferven with delight on his face to equal the thief’s. "You’re the ineffectual thief he keeps going on about?"

He what? Oh, it was on.

"I am," Mizu confirmed, shooting a scathing glare followed by a s**t-eating grin back at Ferven. "And you must be the absolute beefcake he keeps gushing over."

To Mizu’s slight disappointment, Zack just preened for a second before he turned to Alliyah, grinned sheepishly, and scratched at the back of his head.

"Aaaaaactually," he said, "I’m a little lost, too. Tried to find a bathroom. Good news is, I found one. Bad news is, I dunno where I am now. Guess I shoulda spent more time exploring instead of training, huh?"

Mizu snickered.

"Did anyone else hear a kitten?" Dale asked, his little ears swiveling around as he tried to pinpoint the sound of the mews.

"Of course, ma'am... um... Miss Alice." He then proceeded to bite into a cinnamon roll.

"Should I bring a name net?" Leora blurted.
Lucius was right on cue as well, following Leora's statement with, "But would a net help catch something that wasn't even present?" as he took a little bit of Alice's cake.

[Cloe:Land of Departure: Hallway]
“-heeere kitty kitty kitty…”

Soundlessly from their upper right, Cloe actually floated into view. She had been stepping with her bare feet along the side of the walls instead of on the floor. Her entire visage drifted like she should be under water- instead she giggled impishly and landed to one side of Mizu, kept on going, passing Zack, head craning to smile at them as she passed. She pressed herself to one side of the hallway walls, tiny hands feeling along the edge.

“Heeere kitty kitty?...I hear youuu.” She called sweetly. The childlike student hummed curiously to herself looking for the source of the sound, driven to seek it out either by choice- or instinct.
"-don't you worry kitty- I'll save youuu."

[Shion: Land of Departure: Female Showers]

She came back chilled, the rain damp making her hair stick ot her skin. The chill was too close so Shion decided to wash up. Both for cleaning off the sweat and warming her body- no need to needlessly catch a cold too.
She was quick, rinsing off the lather of lavender and mint before looking herself in the mirror- as if she just realized her image was there. Shion wasn’t one ot preen for long, but she noticed something in her face that gave her pause. Slight dark circles under her eyes… barely there- but..
‘drat’

She emerged from the showers in half her gear. Meaning to let her body dry off a bit more before donning anything too heavy. Besides, she could use something hot to drink…
That- and she needed her cloths to finish being cleaned. Thankfully the facilities in the school were very quick, it wouldn’t take very long.
