a few dead eye shots from the officer's pistol won't bring down a shadow; of course there's nothing like the bright flash of gunpowder to illuminate the room, if only for a second. But there is only as much light as there are bullets to shoot, and after Kaos madly empties his ammunition into the dark fog of the night, J is still there to overtake him, and wins the match.
The word on the base the next day was the colonel went insane; not only did he empty his weapon, he even reloaded a few times. The madness of war, that was it. What the battlefield can do to a man's mind is such a shame to behold, especially since the colonel was still so young! It gets to some faster than others, or so they say.

Our hardass commander wins the match as the most badass unicorn I've ever seen promptly rips his own arm off by firing a gun larger than most of his body with one arm.
