billsabob Jason Da Psycho Heres a 500 point list that I am using in a big war me and several friends are having. Our units also get Exp, and get better stuff. HQ Ordo Malleus Inquisitor Lord- Plasma Pistol, Power Weapon, Refractor Field, Melta Bombs and Scourging- 115 points. Elites Vindicare Assassin- 110 Troops 10 Storm Troopers- One Sergeant with Hell pistol and CCW, grenade launcher- 112 6 Gray Knights- 1 Justicar- 175 =512 So, what ya think? Im confused as to why you would need melta bombs in a 500 point game, unless you are playing teams in which case someone might sacrifice good troops for tanks and whatnot. I guess seeing as how you are over by 12, it is one thing that probably wouldnt hurt to cut Basically, we are playing 515 points, that 15 over points thing. And I've seen one friend whos get a Vindicator, and one who's using a Chaos Land Raider. Yea, I may need them, depends if I can get close enough.

Alot of my friends are using 2 wound HQ's, and I've been really lucky with my assassins shot lately. I do like the Callidus though.

The Vindicare can be useful, just don't use him like a regular assassin, use him like a sniper. His absolute targeting makes him perfect for pegging the Powerfist Sarge or Powerklaw Nob right out of a unit before you charge. Since most squads function as power-weapon delivery systems, he works great in that regard. He rarely makes his points back in direct kills, but he's invaluable in tipping odds in your favor and saving your Marines from taking it on the chin from power weapons.

Bikerboss, Powerklaw, bosspole 140
5 Bikernobz, stikkbombz Dok Big choppa Kombi-skorcha Powerklaw, bosspole 300
10 Grots, runtherd 40
10 Trukkboyz, rokkit launcha Nob, powerklaw, bosspole Trukk, wrekkin' ball 155
20 Shoota boyz, 2 big shootas Nob, big choppa, bosspole 150
Looted wagon, boomgun, big shoota 110
2 Deffkoptas Buzzsaw Twinlinked Rokkit Launcha 105
Total points: 1000
Pretty much stright-forward list as you see, which have mostly fast elements but lacks the mass of boyz, but the FnP Bikernobz and Warboss weights up for that.
The grots are there for objective taking, the koptas for tank-hunting and contesting objectives.
The boy unit is there... Because I want them.
The looted wagon is in for fire support, but it might be switched for a Battlewagon with 4 big shootas instead for the boy mob, depends on if I get to finish it in time for the 1000 pts tournie I'm holding.
The only problem I have is that I don't know if I want to swap some stuff for more boyz or not (I'm not really in the mood of painting alot of orks tho'...), but it might happen, we'll see in due time. n 3n

I wonder if it's a good idea to drop the shoota boyz down to 15 boyz and add a squig to the boss and a WAAAGH! banner to the nob bikers... Would make them pretty much more hard hitting with WS 6 warboss and WS 5 nob bikers with FnP... -drool-
Thoughts?
Maybe I should pull down the shoota mob to 10 models and get them a trukk as well.
But then my list would seem pretty fragile...

Alright. Here goes with my anti-I-Guard/Orks/Nids army list. I know it isn't great, but it has some evil little tricks. My opponent is probably going to run his infantry...
HQ:
Autarch on Jetbike with Mandiblasters and Star Lance
Farseer on Jetbike with Doom, Fortune, Spirit Stones, and Singing Spear Four accompanying Warlocks (all mounted) with Destructor on three and Conceal on the last. Singing Spears all around.
Troops:
4 squads of Guardians 2 Scatter Laser Platforms 2 Bright Lance Platforms
Two full Squads of Dire Avengers with Exarchs, Bladestorm, Power Weapon, and Shimmershield
Fast Attack:
3 Full Squads of Swooping Hawks Exarch, Sunrifle, Skyleap, and Intercept
Heavy Support:
Fire Prism x2 Star Engines (unless static objectives are dropped) Holo Fields
Can any of you suggest something different? I know I should probably drop a squad of Hawks, but I'm not sure what for.

Drop some hawks in favor of Scorpions. You currently have no anti-assault, and those guys do quite nicely with decent strength, good armor, and a hell of a lot of attacks. Good kit on a Scorpion Exarch is a Biting Blade (gives an additional point of strength to the strikes for each successful hit).
A few Eldar players I know (like Dark Elf27) would tell you to forgo the Fire Prisms in favor of warwalkers. I would likely agree, but Fire Prisms can be a hell of a lot of fun, especially if you focus them together and just use the blast to annihilate punks.

Brutal? There's only one unit on the table that can do the job right, the bikesnobz with the boss, and if I know the local gamers they'd have them as priority one, trying to halve the unit size atleast, and 20 boyz in total in the list makes it fragile, the strength of orks lies with the boyz, but I'm pretty much for speed... mrgreen

Jason Da Psycho Right, 1000 points marine list. I'm thinking of changing the Sternguard for Legion of the Damned, any ideas? Idea: Never never never never NEVER never EVER skimp on points in a 1k list by that much. The Sternguard should do you decently. In your Devestators, I'd say to drop the PC and ML in favor of two Heavy Bolters. Give you a little more troop hammering. Other than that, see if you can't free up enough points to either add scouts or add weight to another unit.
