Lin smiled brightly at Amora, she was just glad she could be there.
"Great!" she replied before finishing off the rest of her dinner.
It was a really good dinner, and ended up blinking in surprise that it was done so quickly.

The look on Amora's face clearly showed that she didn't think it was so great, but she finished her dinner without any further protest.
"We're going to have to find a room for you to sleep in," Estel murmured thoughtfully, looking at Lin. "Would you feel more comfortable near the family? Or the guest rooms? There are rooms in both areas."

That was a good question, Lin thought about it for a while. While she wouldn't mind a guest room (since really she was a guest), she also knew she was also likely to get lost here.
"Actually, I would feel more comfortable closer to everyone else...." Lin admitted sheepishly.

Estel nodded. "Then we'll put you in the room next to Amora's," he decided. "Amora, when you get up in the morning, be sure to take care of Lin so that she doesn't get lost."
He rose from his chair and smiled at the two girls. "I'll go get things prepared for you," he told Lin. "Amora." He glanced at his daughter.
Amora nodded. "I know, Father," she said softly. "Good night."
Estel smiled. "Good night, Amora. Good night, Lin."

"Good night Estel," Lin replied back softly.
She watched as he left, before looking back at Amora. It would be a while before everything was prepared, so she really didn't know what to do with herself, or what to say.
Since it was clear Amora wasn't fond of the lesson coming tomorrow, and well she simply didn't know what else to talk about.
"So what now, it might be a small while."

Amora smiled at Lin. "Not a particularly long while," she replied softly, "but didn't you leave some things in my room anyways?"
She rose from her seat as well and moved to stand next to Lin. "Come on, maybe you could even answer some questions for me on the way."

Lin thought about it and nearly whacked herself on the forehead.
"And... I forgot about those four flutterbyes..." she murmured.
It was a good thing she packed food in the bag for them in case she actually did forget to get other food for them to eat. She hoped they weren't causing any trouble in Amora's room, or anywhere else for that matter. Getting up from her seat Lin nodded at this.
"Let's go, they're probably bored out of their minds."

Amora blinked and started heading for the door. "Are they mischievous?" she asked, a little worriedly. "Would they be doing anything ... in my room?"
Would anything be broken?

Lin looked up for a moment and ticked off mentally what they had done in the past.
"Unless there are people around they aren't that mischievous," Lin murmured, "Flowers, ribbons and mirrors are fair game though. They like flowers, and ribbons to them are just fun to play with and I'm not quite sure what their fascination with mirrors are."

Amora nodded, slightly relieved. "They shouldn't be too bad then, the only thing of that list that I have is the mirror. I'm not a ribbony person, and and I prefer my flowers outdoors. Alive."
She began to lead them through the maze that was her home. After a few rooms she asked, "What's the big deal about knowing so much about swords?"

Lin thought about it, she gave it a good hard thought too, because she knew back home swords weren't a big deal, but then again not as many people had to fight for a living.
"Mah... it wouldn't be such a big deal if swords weren't the most common weapon used in close combat," Lin finally replied, "Knives are good and all, but a sword has a longer range."
She tilted her head back and forth as if to consider a few things.
"Though... I will admit, that a knife fighter could go up against a sword fighter, being short range they would have to get closer, but the closer they are the harder it is for a sword fighter to deflect an attack... but... that's also assuming it's a one on one fight and not a melee."

Amora looked at Lin. "So you're saying that it's not entirely necessary?" she pressed. "I wish Father would see that. I don't have to learn the sword, I'm sure ... I wish."
She sighed. "I don't even remember very clearly what happened ... and I don't know why I can't do anything anymore ..."

Lin sighed was it? Her father never used a sword, and she knew he had been in close combat, and a melee too to top it all off. She had asked wished about that one incident with the slavers, so in truth yes.
Of course she also knew he got so pissed off he used a gun to scare the rest of them.
"It's not, father doesn't use a sword, he uses knives," Lin admitted, "But I'll also admit to learn how to fight with knives against a sword involves extra practice in avoidance."
She tilted her head at what Amora said about the accident.
"Maybe it's a mental blocker," Lin commented softly, "Like the accident was bad enough that you can't seem to remember all of it, and maybe it affects the way you use a sword."

Amora nodded thoughtfully. "Maybe," she murmured, "if I knew what had happened ... I would know why I can't ... do it ... what do you think?"
Lord Elwin hadn't been there yet when it had happened, but Amora knew that he knew about it - he wouldn't be allowed to train her otherwise.
"Maybe we should ask him about it ..."

That sounded like a fair assessment, it was a curious thing that Amora couldn't remember and from the sounds of it no one had talked to her about it.
"That would be wise, especially since in a way you don't know what happened."
