Kuno, tumbling into a couch at the collision, slowly shook himself off. At her panicked response, he simply answered, "Are you okay?" The second he said it, he realized he was becoming too soft. He scowled at Azure, sitting up, holding his head high.

"I'm o-" Azure started to say, but she noticed his sudden scowl. She backed up a few steps and sat down, lowering her head and curling her tail around herself. "Kuno, I know it was my fault, but please don't be mad." She raised her head back up. "I made a mistake. You're not injured, right?" Tears came to her eyes, partially from the pain, the other pain from fear that she had pushed him away when things had been going so well. She didn't look away from him.

Kuno, knowing he had to be this cold moonlit again, shook his head. "No. And neither are you by the lack of limping." He came to his feet, still pulling a general 'I-hate-everyone' look (I'm excellent at this one - xPPP I scare people with it). He rolled his eyes at her tears, refusing to let any softness pull through.

'What is wrong with him?' Azure couldn't see were this sudden mood shift came from. Not long ago she had been resting her head on his shoulder. She sniffed and pain shot up her nose. 'You're gonna be snotty, fine. I can play too.' "Well..." But she couldn't think of anything to say. She grew up with; be nice = everyone is nice back. She didn't know what to do, so she did what she knew. "I'm glad you're okay." She whispered honestly. Then she went to put the pillows away, blinking away the tears.

Grunting, Kuno laid down, eyeing the ground. Being soft wasn't fun, as it gave more chances to be hurt. Yet, being tough and masking the pain brought others pain. He disreguarded that fact, trying to remember his past and what trusting and loving others did to him. It always wound up bad - ending with tears, a broken heart, and -most times- another life gone by his paws. All they wanted was to reel him in and doing something to him, in which he was forced to defend himself and murder. Closing his eyes, the rush of pain coming back to him, he became very angry.

When she finished with the pillows, Azure looked out the window. 'It's so nice out. Why can't the sun reach into here?' She looked back to where Kuno lay. She could see he was upset, and she knew she should leave him be, but she was compelled to go to him. She walked over and lay in front of him. The anger on his face scared her. "Kuno...?" It barely reached a whisper.

Yanked from his thoughts, Kuno glared up at Azure. "Yes?" He sighed irritably, his mask firmly in place. There was no way anyone was going to peer into him. She had a glimpse of his soft side, but that glimpse was over and he refused to let it open once again.

Azure's emotions were all confused. She was suddenly very tired. "If you really want me to leave you alone, just say so. But please answer one more question..." She scooched closer as she spoke to make sure he was listening, moving to just a step apart from him. "...is it me that you're mad at?"

Kuno, still barely soft, didn't respond at making her leave. But immediately answered her question, "It's not you." He said assuringly. He didn't want to share further, but upon question, he would answer - solely because he didn't want her to feel guilty.

"Woo." Azure let out the breath she was holding. He hadn't asked her to leave, and she felt a small thrill of happiness again. However, that left the matter that he was still upset. She decided to not probe. She didn't know his past, and thus didn't know what else to say without acting nosey. She slowly stepped over next to Kuno, and layed down, in hopes that where her words failed, her heart could offer some comfort. She still held her memories of earlier close, and hoped he was doing the same.

Kuno subtly watched Azure take her place next to him, and held his breath. He liked her, and it annoyed him. He couldn't do this again. He was afraid to do this again. He laid his head on his paws, not reacting to her - secretly hoping he didn't scare her away.

When Kuno didn't move away Azure settled down. 'I can still fix this!' she thought. Kuno didn't move, but he also hadn't responded in any other way. She decided to push her luck, thinking something had to happen. She moved a bit closer, so that their fur was touching. She let out a sigh and relaxed, giving Kuno time to do what he needed, whatever that was. She was a patient moonlit. She could wait as long as he needed.

Kuno's heart stopped as she brushed up next to him. And before he could think better of it, he turned his head to look at her and licked her affectionately. Continuing to follow his heart, he whispered softly, "Thank you."

'The room's bright again!' Azure thought. She turned her head towards Kuno at his lick. She smiled warmly. "Just don't forget that I'm here." She set her head back down, still smiling, her tail touching his.

Kuno, his emotions spewing everywhere, smiled back at her. Giving her another gentle lick, he uttered, "I love you." He was sure what made him say that, but something in him made him happy he did.
