Irritated, Malkin shrugged off the man's arm.
"Don't touch me." he hissed at him, anger tinting the tone. He was tired and wanted to get some sleep. Kairi hadn't been this alone for a while so she was probably going to be over zealous in her greeting. Silly dog.
When the elevator dropped to the ground level, Malkin started for the hallway that would get him to his room. He didn't know the place that well, but he knew he could get back there. He had to tailor a new coat and pick a new weapon later. He already knew which blade was going to be his. A heavy thing garnered from an abandoned castle on one of his missions. It was old, but untouched by age. Supposedly cursed if the village people were to be believed. A good enough weapon for him.

((Took me forever but my new weapon: Joker of Blood
And my new clothes: Hooded Coat))

"Heh," Matt scoffed to himself as he also stepped out of the elevator. "Stubborn guy." His nigh ever present grin faltered for a minute as he looked at Malkins departing back. He could almost feel the emotions radiating off of his fellow Hunter. His grin slipped back into place, more determined than amused, though. "No worries, man. We're all right here for you." He said to himself again. He began to follow Malkin, giving him a decent lead, so he could be by himself.

"Hmm, quite an eventful day." William said.

Kimiko looked up at him, she was still holding onto his arm. "Very much. I hope it's not like this all the time now."

"Well, with all the new recruits it might be for a while, until everyone gets used to one another. But it makes it more fun that way." William glanced down to see Kimikos eyebrows knit in worry. "Don't worry, I doubt things will be quite as eventful as they've been today. I have no doubt that we'll see our fair share of quiet days, too."

"Good. Today was just a bit too violent for my taste." She said in response to his latter statements. "It's getting later in the day, isn't it? Shall we go and read?"

"Yeah, I think we shall." William said and led the way to the elevators where he gave the crankmen the order to take them down.

((Nice weapon choice Kairi, looks heavy.))

Having gone down the lifts when Matt went, Isaac had a little, quiet trek back to his dorm room. Dinner would be unnecessary, though he was sure at that point if he let any one else know that then they would have gone crazy.

Back within his room he sighed as he balanced his halberd against the wall in between his bed and the door. After a little while of physical training, such as crunches and handstand push-ups, Isaac showered and happily went to bed, rolling about for a while thinking about the day's events. There was a lot to think about, a lot to get excited for too.

(Aww, the other two weren't there to hear about the teams. Oh well, they'll find out, right?

Anyway, I'd say we wrap the day up. The main plot should probably kick in, yes? You said you had 'large' plan Stoic?)
PostPosted: Sat Aug 29, 2009 9:29 am

((Yeah, I did have something in mind.

Alright, let's see what we got here:
William and Kimiko: going to read, then going to bed.
Malkin, Kiro, Train, Isaac, Yazira: going to bed.
Matt: following Malkin.
Emily: going to get her tuck.
Gene, Tia, Tyrone, and Enyo: w/e.

I think that covers everyone. Sooo, yeah. It is morning now. Any objections?))

During the wee hours of the morning, before anybody had awoken, while there were still several hours before sunrise, several of the Corps. Guards had been called into the executive offices. They were each given a small stack of documents and ordered to post them in the usual areas for notification. One lucky Guard was given a stack of envelopes. Each was addressed to a Hunter or Guardian.

The Guards went to work, and in short order the documents were posted at all of the regular locations. The one lucky Guard went directly to the dormitories where he slipped an envelope under the door of each Hunter or Guardian, as corresponded with the names on the envelopes.

William awoke, as usual, to a knock on his door roughly an hour before sunrise. He decided to alter his usual routine. He hadn't showered the night before, after all of that training, so he was due. He pulled on is pants, not even bothering with his belt, and grabbed a towel out of his dresser. He, like so many of his comrades was entirely unused to being without a weapon, so he took his kukri down from the wall and brought it with him. Just as he was about to open the door to his room, he noticed an envelope lying on the floor in front of it, bearing his name.

William bent down and picked up the envelope. He moved back to his bed and threw his towel and kukri down on it. He opened the envelope and read the document inside. A grin cracked his face. "Well, it's about time." He said.

He tossed the letter down and retook up his towel and kukri. He left his room and went to take his shower.

The letter, lying on his bed, atop its torn envelope, read:
William Daarkwulf,
Team 4 has been assigned a mission. You will travel to the East-North-East province of Calivert. The exact location is marked on the map included with this letter. There you will seek out the local village and receive more detailed information regarding your target. Current information tells us that it is an insectile fiend. Search and destroy. You head out 1 hour after dawn.
Geofram Valenti, Calivert Hunter Guardian Corps. Administration.

((The letters for each team are similar, differences are:
Team 1 is going to the West-South-West province, they are seeking a snake-like fiend.
Team 2, the North-East province, seeking a man beast fiend.
Team 3, North-North-East, a tortoise fiend.))

Yazira was up before dawn. The stable hands had the honour of being woken up early to groom and saddle the horses for the trip. The instruction letter and map was tucked in her belt as she tightened the girth of a stocky bay just as the sun spread its warmth over the complex grounds.
In a corner of the stable Shoba was eagerly finishing his breakfast.
She thought again about the new teams and looked over to where the black stallion stood quietly in his stall.
"Sir." she called to the stable master, a large, well-muscled man with thinning brown hair. "I'd like to take the new stallion with my team for the mission."
"Out of the question. He's not gentled proper yet."
"Not for us anyway, but he approached a boy yesterday."
The stable-master raised an eyebrow and Yazira met his gaze with a strong determination.
At last the man sighed. "Very well then, I trust your judgement Yazira."
He left without a word as Yazira went and retrieved the black stallion from his stall.
"You're also trained to protect your rider, and so far you've been the best at that." she whispered to it softly.
When all horses were saddled and ready she packed her own bag, making sure her scimitars were sharp and fit for combat and double-checking her sealing equipment carefully.
"Well, here we go." she looked down at her dog, who looked back and wagged his tail. The horses stood ready and waiting behind her.
"Be nice Shoba." She warned him, though ment it more for herself than the dog.

Enyo was quick to wake up on account of receiving her the letter of her new mission. She usually took every mission given to her with complete seriousness and was very official about almost everything she did. The only thing that bothered her was that she was now assigned to a team... Team 2.

Her room was very tidy with shelves accompanying the walls all the way around except where a single dresser stood, her bed, and a night stand which lay a dim lit candle. All the selves were packed with books and papers, it would be difficult to believe that she's been able to memorize them all.

With haste Enyo showered and combed her hair afterward with the morning still early as can be. Within only 25 minutes of her awake she was already out the door. She made her way down the hallway with quiet steps and stopped in front of Trone's door. She then brought her hand up and knocked lightly with the tip of her knuckles. Her face was as blank as it always was, it was strange to think she would approach Tyrone's door and socialize.

"K-kyyahhh!" Tia groaned as she stretched as far as she could extend her limbs while she stirred in her soft bed which was covered with tons and tons of fluffy pillows. "I slept so well!" Tia announced, jumping off the bed to her feet nimbly but then loosing her balance due to her sudden chance in posture from sleeping and then falling forward clumsily to the floor.

"Owwww..." Tia whined, holding her head that hit the floor moments ago. She sighed. Another day. Tia thought but then suddenly noticed the notice on the floor by her door. "What's this?" Tia asked herself and approached it, picking it up and then quickly skimming it. "I got an assignment! Yay!" Tia shouted loudly as if she had won some sort of award.

The faint sound of rustling paper rang in Kiro's ears as he slept. The years of being an assassin and how he grew up really took their toll on Kiro's habits and behavior as he slept, the instinct to always be careful and that at any moment he could die. The instinct took over Kiro and the moment the swooshing of the mission notice entered Kiro's room, Kiro had drew a small dagger from the nearby nightstand and threw it skillfully in the direction of the small piece of paper directly at the center, pinning it to the floor.

Slowly Kiro's eyes opened and he blinked several times as he stared into space. "Hehh?..." Kiro mumbled and his head turned to the door where a small knife had been jabbed into what seemed to be a scrap piece of paper.

"What's this?" Kiro mumbled again as he picked up the paper. "Team 4... Mission... Something about a fiend... East something... Dawn..." Kiro mumbled and threw the paper to the floor lazily. Kiro yawned and then grabbed for the door knob, ready to go see if William was awake yet.

Awakening to a rather wet tongue licking his face, Malkin stumbled into conciousnesss.
"Ahh, Kairi, get off, dumb dog." he said midly, pushing his husky off of him. Getting up, he dressed quietly, admiring his new coat in the mirror for a moment. Feeding the dog, he noticed he note sticking out from under his door. Reading it swiftly, he crumbled it in his hand. Stupid turtle. Feeding his dog, he left quietly, strapping his new sword onto his back. The weight was odd, and unfamiliar, but welcome all the same. Tugging up his hood to hide his now grown horns, he smiled heading for the cafeteria.
"Kalla níore. So it starts." he muttered, unaware of the dual language.

Gene awoke to the sound of a knock on his door, precisely at dawn. While not technically a member of the military he followed many of their regulations, one of which being that one must be prepared to awake and move out at a moments notice. His eyes snapped open. Not sensing any immediate threat he sat up. He looked to his door and saw the note. He went over to it and read it quickly.

Finally.

He put on a robe and went to the showers, where several other Hunters and Guardians were similarly preparing fro their morning. He cleaned quickly and returned to his room where he dressed and armed himself. He set up his pack with his sealing instruments, inks and scrolls. He double checked his weapons, making sure they were prepared properly.

Fully clothed, armed, and supplied for the road he left his room, locking it behind him. He headed for the cafeteria, he was sure he'd find his teammates there.

The door to Tyrones room opened and standing in the frame was none other than Tyrone himself. He was fully dressed and road ready.

"Hey, there, partner." Tyrone said to the diminutive Hunter, who he towered head and shoulders over. "Looks like they decided to take us off the bench, huh? We'll have to have words with Valenti when we get back."

Tyrone stepped out of his room, around Enyo, and shut the door behind him, not bothering to lock it. He had his huge sword held easily in one hand horizontally, because the ceilings were too low for him to rest it against his shoulder like he normally did.

"Well, what say we head to the cafe'? Try to find our missing teammate?" Her asked.

Matt had stood guard outside Malkins door for hours that night. Up till the point when he had seen the Guards putting up the notices and slipping documents under doors. He'd been there more than long enough to know what that meant. He decided he'd have to risk it, if they had a mission he'd need some sleep. He'd have to assume that Malkin was under his own control.

He had gone to his room and slept for the remainder of the time between then and dawn. Once woken he had dressed quickly and packed for the road, even thinking to grab his hammer, just in case. He was out of his room within ten minutes and on his way to the cafeteria.

William had returned to his room before most had even been awakened. He had dressed himself in his usual and had armed himself with his broadsword, katana, nodachi, kukri, and daggers as was usual for him as well. He had gone through his pack, making sure all of his sealing items were fully stocked and secured inside their tube, which was inside his jacket. He left his room and met Kiro coming down the hall towards him.

"Morning, Kiro. Looks like we may be busy for a few days, no?"
PostPosted: Mon Aug 31, 2009 4:11 pm

(I know, I'm almost always the last one to show up these days.)

Isaac yawned and stretched as he swung himself out of bed. Shuffling across his room he was oblivious to the note on his floor. Grabbing his clothes he slipped on his sandals and shuffling away to shower. He didn't like his feet covered, but he wouldn't walk the halls without something on.

When he returned to his room, now much more awake, he noticed it just before he stepped on it with his still damp feet. Thankfully, he caught himself on the door frame. Tossing his clothes to the other side of the room he picked up the letter and read it's contents.

He paused, a grin slowly creeping onto his features. "Yes! My first real mission!" Isaac shouted as he started to gather some things. His weapons, an empty pack, and a spare pair of sandals. He kept them only because he knew straw sandals tended to tear easily, as far as what his level of activity was.

Grin still wide on his face he strode out of his room with what was obviously joy. He was off to fill his pack and stomach then find his team.

Emma grumbled as she read her letter. She wasn't really a morning person, but she was still pleased, later anyway. Her armor and robes were kept ready at all times, though she wasn't so cautious in her own room anymore to be awaken by a letter. She had a bit of a trap in place while she was sleeping anyway.

Showered and everything intact, Emma strode down to the cafeteria to eat. She would never leave on an empty stomach. "Snake type eh? Shouldn't be too hard between me and Gene." Emma thought.

Emma was at her usual table with a pile of food stacked there. She normally woke up earlier enough where she had to wait for the cooks. To get ready for a mission she would have to stuff her face.

"There's no need to," Train said as he rounded the hall corner. He had been watching them from his room a few doors down. How handy it was to see through walls, and there was no mistaking Tyrone's hulking figure.

He had only bathed and clothed himself so far this morning, but he normally didn't have to eat much. And he already had a pack, only half full, from his last mission. "Bastards... Sending me out right after I get back. I'll pummel them all to death if I ever get the chance." Train thought morbidly. The pack though, would only feed him. He was happy to not truly wield any weapons, though he had to carry multiple pieces of charcoal and scrolls. But hey, they had Tyrone, he could easily make a good pack mule.

(I'm not actually thinking of making Tyrone a pack-mule. Just a thought though....)

Enyo nodded silently at Tyrone's words and followed him. Suddenly meeting Train at the end of the hallway, Enyo nodded and continued past him to the cafe.

"Yo." Kiro said in a deep tired sounding voice while raising his right arm in greeting. "I'm not too hungry, but I bet you are." Kiro said.
PostPosted: Tue Sep 01, 2009 7:26 pm

Catching sight of everyone in front of him, Malkin slowed, wanting them to get ahead. For some reason, he wasn't really hungry, just tired. Deciding against the food hall, he started down another passage heading into one of the gardens. Pulling out a cigarette, he lit up, taking a deep pull, enjoying the taste of the tobacco leaves.
"Ugghh. That's right, I'm dealing with Miss Rules and Regulations today. Gods is that going to be fun."

Shoba tore around a corner and Yazira nearly tripped trying to catch up with him.
"Shoba!" she called uselessly after him. He had seen a mouse and his instincts took over.
The poor little creature ran into the gardens with the giant black dog hot on its trail.
It slipped into a tiny hole between two ornamental bushes and it was straight into them Shoba crashed.
Yazira caught up with her unruly dog and groaned as he picked himself up from a mass of leaves and broken branches.
"The gardener is going to have a fit! How many times are you going to destroy his work huh?"
Shoba, not seeming too affected by his failure to catch the mouse (or his destruction of the bushes) leapt over to Yazira and happily jumped on her.
Yazira was not prepared for this and toppled over into the dust.
"Damn you Shoba!" she laughed as he licked her face and tried very hard to sit on her lap despite his massive size.
"It must be the mission, is that it boy? finally getting out of this stuffy compound?" she asked him, pushing his front paws off her tunic and back onto the ground.
It was only then she noticed someone else in the gardens...Malkin. Shoba noticed him too and went over to sniff this new person...he smelled like dog.
Yazira got up and dusted off her tunic, clearing her throat in an embarassed manor.

"Morning, Train." Tyrone said in his deep basso voice as he watched the feminine third of his team walk away. "Ready for some action?" Ty began to walk down the hall, towards the cafeteria. "I needed a little life threatening violence to break up the tedium anyways."

"Of course I am, it's morning. A man's got to start the day with a good breakfast." William said. He walked up to his friend, who seemed still half asleep, and began leading him towards the cafe. "C'mon, Kiro, this way." William said with a grin on his face, amused by the younger Hunters quirks.

"Gahh, I guess a little meat wouldn't hurt." Kiro admitted, giving in to William. Arriving at the cafeteria, Kiro zoomed in line and dashed around to grab all the varieties of meat there were and quickly returned to a table with three plates full of the little amount of meat he was talking about.

Enyo entered soon afterward, assuming her two brute companions, Tyrone and Train would come to follow.
