He sighed deeply. "No up until now things have been somewhat peaceful, I even had a few vampire friends way back when, but the times have changed." He said somberly. "Both our people are expanding in numbers and have begun to rival each other and vie for power. But the vamps (despite being full of themselves) tend to stay in line and keep their own young on a tight leash." He continues looking to his side for but a second he sees a very young girl holding a flower, but she quickly fades to nothing as he regains himself. "I tried to do that but you kids can be so independent sometimes, damn the consequences." He smiles looking as if he is holding back tears. "Anyway intros are over go finish helping with the wounded, and when you're done head to the the supply tent you'll find some clothes and some empty canteens, go fill them at the river." He walks away and returns to carrying people to the infirmary tent.

"I'm Miles. I'm the person in charge of the oven." Miles announced proudly, puffing out his chest a bit.

"And I'm Marie, the one without the inflated ego." Marie mocked her brother's pride openly. She poked into Miles' arm and frowned. "They've cooked for long enough." She whispered into his shoulder.

Miles shrugged, his ego deflated. He gave a quizzical expression to his shoulder, then hurried back into the oven room. Returning with a huge grin on his face, he set down a tray with a few half-baked rolls. "Ta-da!" He exclaimed with a flourish of his hand.

Marie took out the icing and a pair of gloves. She put the gloves on, then began spreading the icing on top. She had to tap each one with her hand while she spread the icing, however. "We're making cinnamon rolls. Tell us your story, then you can have some for free." Marie bargained deviously.

Zack sighed. "I.... I don't want you to be uncomfortable. Some other time I guess. After we feel a little more cohesion I guess." He said peaking out at the sky, only lifting the shade enough for him to be hit by the light. "Hmmm.... Its not overcast, and the clouds are none too big." He said.

"If I had something important to do, I would have left already." Zack said. "So no, not really. Is there something that you want to do?" He asked.

"I'm sorry. You must be feeling cramped with me around. If I could make the weather overcast for you I could." Zack said. "There are some spells that could do it over a short area for you.... but Lucius says that I'm ready for things like that yet, and I believe him."

"It is alright, I am not feeling cramped." She looked at the window, "Believe it or not, but there are some days when it is sunny that I can actually get a job, if I am out soon enough, and there before the sun rises." She laughed, "But please do not feel bad, alright?" she was trying to assure him.

Damian nodded as he too looked out across the encampment. "It is a very sad thing, yes, but it is life. It is where wolves stand in this time. Our job is to protect those who cannot protect themselves. This is what happens to us as a result." he said sadly.
